i am getting really tired of checklist criticism. just saw someone criticize a show bc one villain (out of many) in the series is black, thereby perpetuating the "black villain" trope. like… sorry but what the hell are you talking about

#again ignoring the context of WHY the black villain trope is bad #it is bad when #a) the only villains that are evil are black #or b) the only black characters are villains #neither of which is true in this show #the black character they're referring to isn't even a villain he's a misunderstood hero... #and u would know this if u actually watched / read up on the series instead of making a snap judgment from the first episode #SIGHHHH i am tired because this kind of nonsense criticism delegitimizes actual valid criticism! #nova talks #i have a whole ass rant on this topic but i'll spare you #* edited for grammar lol
