i feel like the saying "organized mess" sort of applies to xayah as a "monster" ( i say monster loosely because it's not the proper term... in the long run i'm merely using it to mean an othering from humanity ). basically the inherent nature of the vastaya is beast. instinct and nature and chaos govern their base behaviors, personalities, and relationships. however, for most, the dilution of their vastayan blood with humanity allow for the more deeper connective reasoning and hierarchy that most animals/creatures/nonhumans don't really reconcile with. xayah very much is attuned with this, as are most vastaya, but the exact variations can come depending on the bloodline, tribe, nurturing, etc. the lhotlans are more akin to the wild sort, and value their freedom, traditions, and tribe. while not cut off from the world, they didn't often branch too far outside of their preferred territories. at least not until the upheaval of wild magic forced them to, which greatly stems into the anger xayah feels. everything has quite literally displaced the essence of her piece of the lhotlan tribe. it is personal, and she adapts in the beastly manner of her vastayan blood. defend, protect, fight. it causes her reasoning to sometimes seem non existent, and this is a strong reason for why rakan is a valued aide. it's not that he's less feral than xayah - he can be just as chaotic if not more in some aspects - but he has a greater time balancing the more tamed instincts in order to find the best course of action for everyone involved. hers are geared towards her one fight.
