Got some exciting news today at work, because while it;s not good news it IS exciting.

One of the people working overnight has to stop for personal reasons so there’s an opening on overnights.

We all were already asked if were interested in going overnights but alas, no takers.

So, until we find someone else, the former overnighter is splitting the shift with my team.

As in, unless one of the three of us who works until midnight decides they suddenly would rather work 7 pm to 4 am, we’re going to have to work it in rotations.

I’m not super excited about either option, honestly!

#so I'm not inherently averse there's advantages to being free during normal white collar hours #the problem is that the holidays are coming up and while I'm not enthused about any of them I do have some plans #that maybe don't involve me being on a shift where I sleep until 4pm #the OTHER issue is I have besties on first and second shift but I'm not super close with overnights #and I won;t see ANYONE but overnighters pretty much #Overnight's more sparsely staffed and it's more likely I'll be left holding the bag #BESIDES ALL OF THAT this is temporary but there's no end in sight #if I accept I'll probably be on 7pm-4am for 4 months at BARE ASS MINIMUM and 6 isn't impossible #meanwhile if I rotate I'll only have 6 or 8 weeks of this shift in the same span #stop b think of the children
