“You fainted... straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.”

Percy came to with a soft groan, head pounding. He didn’t recall exactly what happened beyond annoying Jason by watching Krios hold how Jason beat him over his head as blackmail to make Jason do his chores.

He rolled over, eyes fluttering open, and found Koios sitting next to his bed, book in hand.

“Good morning,” Koios said mildly.

Percy blinked slowly.

“Morning-” he winced, fingers coming up to rub at his throat.

Why did his arm feel so heavy?

“Wha- what happened?”

“Well, there was a sudden storm, to start. One at risk of damaging the boat quite a bit. So you thought, I presume, that you would just fix that right up for us. Except apparently that storm was scheduled by a God, and Gods don’t exactly make their storms easy to remove, even for the son of the Stormbringer. So then, like you do, you used far too much power. And then, naturally, you fainted... straight into my arms.”

Percy blinked slowly and had to admit that rather did sound like him. He was stubborn and likely wouldn’t have allowed something minor like a Godly summoned storm to risk their quest to save the world.

“You know,” Koios continued, snapping his book shut. “If you wanted my attention you didn’t have to go to such extremes.”

Percy stared, mind blank.

“I mean, I am flattered, truly. It’s been some time since someone showed an interest in me-”

Oh this was not happening.

“-really trying to show off to the point of risking your life-”

Percy hadn’t just been showing off!

“-not healthy at all-”

It was just a little crush! He was going to grow out of it like he did all of his crushes!

“-you can always ask for my attention-”

Someone had a big mouth and told Koios about his crush, that was not nice. Annabeth wouldn’t have so who-

“-so please do think before doing something like that again. Understand?”

Percy blinked up at him, staring at his pretty shining eyes and his severe frown and worried wrinkle on his forehead and-

And okay Percy often found intelligent people hot, just look at him and Annabeth, if him dating The Intelligent Camp Member didn’t make that obvious-

“Percy?”

“Yeah-” he cleared his throat “-yeah I getcha. Won’t do it again.”

This was horrible. Annabeth was gonna tease him to no end. At least he didn’t get asked out or something equally embarassing, he might’ve melted into the sheets-

“So then,” Koios said with a sniff, “where shall we go?”

“Go?”

“Yes, for our date.”

“Date?”

“You did ask me out before you passed out.”

Percy did not-

Annabeth would never let him live this down.

“I presume you asked your girlfriend first-”

Of course he had!

“-which means all we need to do is decide where we’re going.”

Percy would rather decide how he wanted to die.
