You know what bugs me much about the way some people on this platform (and not just this platform) kinda dismiss racism when it happens in any nothern european country...the fact that they are somehow and subtly exercising a racist narrative when all they target are countries like spain and italy and portugal and southern europe in general. to be clear: those are catholic and historically white countries so of course it's not racism. it's the narrative behind that tho. the idea that everything that happens south of somewhere is automatically worse. that bugs me much because it's not that far from colonialist racist views on "the infamous south of the world" and then sure it becomes racism when it applies to africa etc.
Udogie was victim of racial abuse in premier league and there's lots of silence towards it isn't it. Racism is once again a collective issue and it should be considered as such, as more progressive countries are not as woke as you might think. I am an arab person in italy so i know pretty well how shitty this country can be but I don't feel any good when you think nothing happens north of here.
