hello darkness my old friend (wondering when an “old” expensive piece of technology of mine is going to bite the dust)

#so yesterday my phone decided to play a game where it randomly disconnects from service #and it was easily fixed by doing airplane on and off again #and it's not doing it as often tonight so far #but it's just another sign that this boi is old (4.5 years hhh) #and it's annoying bc obviously there are decent prices on phones rn with black friday and all #so i'm like 'should i just pull the trigger and get a new one while they're a good price?' #but at the same time the phone still works fine (random service disconnection notwithstanding) #and i would hate to drop hundreds when i don't Need to #like when i got this phone my old one would regularly freeze and it was aligned nicely with graduation timing #so it just worked out nicely but not so much here #like i guess a new phone would be nice bc it wouldn't have any quirks like this and i'd presumably be set for another 4+ years #and i'm hoping to visit a friend out of state next year so shiny new phone for pics would be nice but hhh #chilly chats
