so i’m chairing my first panel session tomorrow at 10am (or rather, in just over ten hours) and i am slightly (read: deeply) panicking bc i have two pages of guidance, it’s the first session of the two day conference (thankfully a postgrad conference), and also i literally don’t know how to pronounce any of the participants’ names

this also isn’t my field of speciality, although it is my period of speciality and i have read a bit on the wider field (best comparison is like, it’s history of sexuality, they’re doing it on specific countries which i haven’t read up abt at all, i’ve only read on it in the context of gender). i did study it a bit at undergrad level and i got the offer to chair bc i attended an event, which was primarily this field but also seriously overlaps w my thesis research, so like. it’s not a ridiculous thing, and i was totally willing to agree.

but i also spent 12+ hours travelling yesterday and slept like shit last night, so i’m just all the panic gifs rn
