i am 100% going to end up applying for a higher paying job at some point in the next 5 years that has nothing to do with interacting with the public and i don’t care if that means i’m selling out

#i grew up wanting to be a teacher and now that i'm a librarian preparing my first public class for adult students........it's been fun but #nothing is worth the meager amount of money they're giving me for my skillset #i will be the first person to jump ship as soon as a job comes up even 10k more than what i get paid now #i am eyeing those tech jobs where my info studies MA will come in handy #heed my advice : sometimes making your passion your job is Bad and Terrible actually #especially if you're not self-employed or in charge of your own work #Jewish history has been my passion for as long as i can remember #but patrons and the big library establishment will suck your joy out of you #bit by bit everyday
