How to enter a fanclub lottery
For many fanclub events, entrance can be done only through lottery. This process is only in Japanese and can be very complicated. Unfortunately I am only an EXO-L so I will be demonstrating this process using EXO-L’s system, but other fanclubs will probably have something similar. You must be a member of the fanclub in order to be eligible for the event. Tickets are limited to fanclub members and they do check photo ID at the event so you cannot buy these tickets second hand!
Step 1. Be a member of the fanclub. If you haven’t already, please check out my tutorial on how to register for EXO-L JAPAN. If you aren’t looking to join EXO-L Japan or want a more general tutorial, I have a tutorial on how to register for online sites. I apologise in advance because I’m always so EXO-L biased, but I honestly don’t stan anyone else!
WARNING: before fanclub lotteries are announced, there is often a cut off date for when you must enter the fanclub. If your fanclub has a public twitter or website, often it’s announced there.
Tumblr media
Look for the words, “間に合う” (to be in time for) and “抽選” (lottery), and a date. Here you see the words “間に合う” and the date 2/2 23:59. That’s the cut off date so if you don’t register an account by that date you cannot enter the lottery!
Step 2. Wait for an official announcement.  Most fanclubs will announce the entrance period for the lottery a day or so in advanced. You will often get VERY little warning outside of the news for the cut off date for the lottery so keep an eye out for the email!
If your fanclub is actually the pits, you’ll get an email when the lottery opens giving you zero time to camp out on the site and enter (stupid).
Again, look for the word “抽選” or “抽選予約”, which means lottery reservation paired with the words “お知らせ” (news).
Tumblr media
For me, this is what the email looks like. Scroll to the bottom and you will see a link.
Tumblr media
Look for the words “お申し込み” (application). The link will stand out and be very big so you can’t miss it! Click it and head to the lottery site!
Step 3. Before-entering rules and information. Sorry this is the boring part!
Tumblr media
The lottery website will be separate from the main site. It’ll have a bunch of links on the side, but you don’t need to worry about those, they’re just terms and conditions and they’re all in Japanese. Keep in mind these terms and conditions may vary between fanclubs, but for EXO-L Japan, here it is.
Simplified terms and conditions:
Only fanclub members can enter.
Only 1 ticket per person per event (you cannot buy tickets for friends)
Once you enter the lottery, you commit 100% to buying the tickets for the days that you win. So if you enter the lottery for all 5 performances, you MUST buy tickets for all the performances!
You are allowed to apply for the lottery with one other person, but that person must be a fanclub member and cannot enter the lottery on their own (you two will enter as a pair).
Once you enter the lottery, you cannot cancel or change any details.
Payment for tickets is only done through convenience store payment (ticket machines, see a tutorial here) so no credit cards! Convenience store payment must be done in person in Japan during the payment period.
Photo ID will be checked! Acceptable forms of ID are, Japanese driver’s license, Japan-issued photo ID (official school ID with photo is OK), Passport.
**note. If you’re a foreigner, your ID must also display your address the same way it is written on EXO-L Japan. If you do not have an ID with your Japanese address on it you must bring proof such as an official letter (from the ward office/utility bill, etc.).
So now that I’ve covered that, you can scroll down and apply.
Tumblr media
Click the top link that says “チケット申込” (lottery entrance application).
Step 4. Entering the lottery.
Tumblr media
You will see a terms and conditions page that pretty much says the same stuff as I stated before. Check the boxes next to “同意する” to accept. There’s a lot of boxes, so make sure you’re not missing one!
Tumblr media
With that business done, press “OK” to move on.
Tumblr media
The next page will require you to input your fanclub number and password. For EXO-L JAPAN, fanclub numbers are 6 digits long and of course your password is case sensitive so type those in.
Tumblr media
The last box asks if you are applying independently or would like to add a friend. If you are just applying for yourself, click “同件者無し”. If you want to apply with a friend select “同件者(会員) 1名” and put in their fanclub number. To apply with a friend, make sure you ask them before hand. You need your friend’s fanclub number and full name.
Tumblr media
After that business is over, you will get to select the days you want to apply for! For me, there are a total of 5 performances I can attend. Each performance is given a number, so the first performance is number 1 and the second is number 2, and so on. So in the top window is the performance list with times and in the bottom is the lottery sheet.
The first drop down list is your first choice, and then under you have the 2nd, 3rd. etc. Depending on how many performances you have, you will have more boxes. I am only applying for 3 performances, so I just put down the first 3 in the first 3 boxes. You can apply for one or all of the performances!
After you select the dates, they’ll be a box that says “お支払方法” (payment method). For me, there’s only one option, and it’s “ローソンまたはミニストップ店頭支払”.
So scroll down and click “OK”.
Tumblr media
Now you will get a confirmation. Make sure this is exactly what you want. If it’s all cool, press “申し込み”, but if not, press “戻る” to change your information. YOU CANNOT CHANGE, OR CANCEL ANY OF THIS ONCE IT IS SENT!
Tumblr media
After that business is finished you should get this message that says you have successfully entered the lottery! You should get an email confirming your entrance as well.
