#37. Love Don't Die by The Fray
Yarrow grabs Rebecca's hand lightly, and gives it a gentle squeeze. "If there's one thing I know, it's that I'm not going anywhere. I love you." Spencer gags jokingly from where he's sitting on the couch, and Yarrow just shakes his head with a small sigh. "Hold please."
He grabs a pillow with his one free hand and tosses it as Spencer's head. "As if you're any better."

She knocks on his bedroom door, holding back tears again. She should've come to him sooner.
She should've come to him a lot sooner.
She sniffles and whimpers a tiny bit, shaking. "Yarrow."
Yarrow opens the door the moment she knocks, and pulls her into a hug without a second thought. "Hey, I've got you. I've got you."
No matter what it is, no matter what happens. He'll always be there for her. She's his baby sister, and he'll spend the rest of their lives trying to make up for hurting her.

Para: How (Not) To Get Away With Murder
CW: Bones / Police
Yarrow tosses a burner phone to Hemlock. “As requested. Do I want to know why you need it?”
She catches it with ease and turns it over in her hands. “The same reason anyone needs a burner phone. Do I want to know how you got it so quickly?”
He chuckles. “Knowing you? Yes. But I’m not going to tell you.”
“Fair enough.” She knows he has his own secrets, and she’s willing to let them be for now. There are too many other pressing matters. “Thank you.”
“Just be careful.” He’s worried about her, especially with how much she’s pulled away from everyone lately.
“Always am.”
-
She dumps the bones from the dead body she rotted into a pile on the ground. Thank god for the morgue underneath the hospital having dead bodies to steal. The spot she chose for her crime scene is a secluded part of the park, not an unreasonable place to have an argument that escalated too quickly without anyone being around to hear it. She pulls out Lysandus’ bracelet and necklace from her pocket, holding onto them for a moment before tossing them into the pile. Here goes nothing.
She presses three quick buttons on the burner phone and brings it up to her ear. It rings twice before a voice chirps out from the other end. “1-1-3, what’s your emergency?”
She pitches her voice up, and pants for air, like she’s been running. “I-I just saw some guy. He– There was this girl. Hem-Hemlock. I think. They were fighting. She kept getting angrier– Then– Then she grabbed him. And he just. Disintegrated– I– I ran. Didn’t know what else to do–”
“Ma’am, ma’am. I need you to breathe. Can you tell me where you are?”
She takes a shaky breath, and waits a beat. “Um– Th-the park. Off by the campus.”
“Okay, I’m sending dispatch to your location, just stay on the phone with me.”
“Oh-okay.” Her fingertips turn black as she pulls the phone away from her face. It rusts and crumbles, turning to dust in a few short moments. She’ll be long gone by the time anyone arrives.
-
The sirens sound behind her as she walks towards the hospital door. Damn, they might be smarter than she gave them credit for if they’re catching her this quickly. She stops right before she gets to the doors. The last thing she needs in all of this is to make this worse for Keefe.  Before she turns to face the police, she catches Klaus’ eye as he stands in the doorway, white as a sheet. “Go. Tell Keefe I’m fine, and that it’s not about Aneela. If they try to question him, he doesn’t know anything.”
He just barely nods and rushes back inside the building. She turns around and puts on a winning smile. There are several police officers standing several feet back, guns and tasers all pointed at her. “All for me? You shouldn’t have. I’ll go willingly.” She holds out her hands for them to cuff, but no one moves forward. They’re scared of her. She chuckles. “I won’t hurt anyone. Scouts honor. Come on, someone must be brave enough to cuff the big bad scary Boggan.”
An officer finally steps forward, holding out what look to be magic dampening cuffs. “Turn around. On your knees. Slowly.”
“You could at least buy me a drink first,” Hemlock quips back as she complies, slowly turning around and getting down on both knees. The officer grabs her wrists and quickly places the cuffs on her. She doesn’t resist, doesn’t try to use her powers to get away. She’s all but dragged to a cop car and stuffed inside.
-
She gets one phone call, and she has to use it wisely. There are the obvious choices, like her siblings. She has no doubt that Cal could have her out of here in minutes, but at what cost? There are less obvious choices too, like Ciri. If she didn’t think Aaravos would find it to be working too close with the ‘enemy’, she’d be great for clearing her name right now. There is another witch she knows who might be able to help clear her name. At the very least, she might be able to cast a reasonable doubt and get Hemlock out of this cell for the time being. She grins and dials the number. It rings. And rings. And rings. Finally, someone picks up.
Hope’s voice crackles out of the little payphone. “What do you need me to do?”
