Can confirm: Sir's warrant not on the bottle anymore.
Tumblr media
Me, drinking my feelings in The Vault with Sir: Anyway lookit this shit. *shows him the Mayfair bottle* The fucking audacity. And after I've spent a stupid amount of income on their products. I'm suing for emotional damages. ....No, no I don't think you'd like this scent anyway. I mean, maybe on me, but not for urself.

I now have all the cologne scents I like (these 2 plus Freshman and 1805), so I’m set for overseas yeetings.  They’ll last a while because I don’t wear them everyday; that is what Duke Cannon is for.
Bought the shampoo because I’ll need more soon anyway and I wanted to try it (and a review said it literally smells like Earl Grey tea with lemon and yes that is entirely accurate).
The tonic was mostly ‘cause this is what Prince Philip used to get his hairs looking fine as fuck, according to John Dean (his first valet who wrote a book about his time working for him).  Brand wasn’t mentioned specifically, rather “hair lotion,” but given that this company has held his royal warrant, it’s not unlikely this was exactly what he used.  I’ve learned tonics are good for those who use oil-based pomade, which I do, so it won’t be a complete waste of money if it doesn’t work out as well for me as it did for him (sometimes my hair just doesn’t want to lay the fuck down).
*sigh*  Prince Philip being the male role model I didn’t really have, at least in this aspect.  ....Also yes now I actually have the money to afford it!

My ass be needing tax free pay to support my habit.
Tumblr media
I am not proud of dropping nearly a Benjamin for aftershave but fuck it, I need to complete the Grafton scent collection and Mayfair finna go with my Duke Cannon "Light Musk + Neroli" cologne.
By the way the new scent line's prices are STUPID. I asked them why and it's 'cause of the economy/more expensive ingredients, etc.

in case you're not already spending enough of your income on Smelling Like Sea Duke™, I hear tell that at some point he also had a custom fragrance from Penhaglion's (as does Tim)
OMFG he totally did, that was mentioned in John Dean's book. I checked them out and HOLY SHIT THAT IS SOME OFFICER SALARY BULLSHIT.
That's like...one month's sea pay (extra tacked on to base pay), which I am not getting as I am not on a ship.

Hi, it's the same anon who told you that Prince Philip's favorite scents from Penhaligon's are Blenheim Bouquet and Hammam Bouquet. My source for the info is from here: esquiremag(.)ph/the-good-life/pursuits/best-royal-mens-fragrances-a00208-20190409-lfrm; Do note though that a reddit thread discussing the fragrances used by the Royal Family only indicated Hammam Bouquet as Prince Philip's signature scent.
Thanks so much for coming back with a link! Most of the time I get no answer or just "Google it" like I haven't been doing exactly that.
Seems Blenheim Bouquet is similar to something I've already got (Truefitt & Hill's "Freshman"), so it actually works out where I don't necessarily have a need to buy that specific one. My bank account is also thankful, because USD -> Canadian dollars + free shipping is a lot easier to digest than the USD -> pounds exchange rate ($133) + international shipping charges (only their UK site has Blenheim Bouquet). Also, fuck me oh my god this inflation.
But now I know! One day I'll get hold of it, just because, but not right now.

Today I Wore...
Freshman
Tumblr media
Yes, I stopped for like a month because I was having to deal with a major duty station change and the bullshit that comes with it.  And today was Self-Care Sunday, which isn’t an actual schedule I adhere to, but my tattoo has healed, which meant I could do my hairs and well, it becomes an entire #TreatYoSelf ritual.
I like this one, which surprises me because I don’t normally go for the lighter scents, and this one is a nice mix of citrus, floral/herb, and musk. It’s one of the stronger scents that lingers a good while and doesn’t fade. Good spring scent, and could do well for fancy events.  I’d probably wear it for garden parties and watching fancy horse stuff.  Also I’ve gotten better at applying it so it doesn’t get...everywhere on me except my neck.
I used the Grafton shave cream for the first time, ‘cause I figured it complimented very well.  Also I told myself it’s silly I consider it “my” scent and have yet to use it and oh my god, yes...still love this scent.

Believe it or not, yesterday I smelled the Blenheim Bouquet (yes, I went with my friends to a niche perfumery to smell it). I was surprised! I imagined the perfumes he used in a completely different way. It smelled like citrus and pepper! I was expecting more woody, marine, blue notes and this was fresh with a slight sharpness. What do you think about it?
*dramatically lying on the floor* I don't knoooow I can't smell iiiiittttt....
Like, I'm over here ready to die on the hill that Truefitt & Hill's 1805 is HIS SCENT but now I hear he likes lime (or citrus in general) and I just...have a lot of questions.
OK so I can definitely see him wearing a scent like what you're talking about, especially back in the day. Maybe he switched when he got older? Or maybe, like me, he wears different ones? Personally I get bored of a scent after a bit so I have an embarrassing amount of different ones from different manufacturers.

Sooo Penhaligon’s is very expensive, but you might find copies of some scents. My brother uses Divain and they happen to have some Penhaligon’s inspired perfumes, if you want to take a look. That way you can smell and try the scents before deciding if you want to commit to the prices.
Thanks for this, I'll check that out, and I was also thinking about buying a sample pack. Either way I'd need to find a seller who can ship it to Bahrain. I had to stock up on Truefitt & Hill cologne because they can't ship that sweet nectar outside of the US (or Europe, per the UK site).

Alright top 5 scents in order? (If you’re a complete cologne whore do up to 10)
Truefitt & Hill - 1805, aka "my emotional support scent"
Truefitt & Hill - Trafalgar
Truefitt & Hill - Freshman
Duke Cannon - Huron
Duke Cannon - Prescott
Not an impressive list, but these are the two brands I primarily use, as between the two every scent camp is covered. I do like Polo Red, and Creed Aventus would be on the list. I haven't worn the latter specifically, but have a shave soap with a similar scent (Stirling Soap Co. "Executive Man)."
I don't tend to spend big money on brands when I can find less expensive options. Duke Cannon covers just about everything, so that's what I mostly use (and they contribute to veterans' charities).
