it was just a little one off thing in a drabble a while ago but i loved doing pronoun games with the lake trio. i love stupid writing tricks like that. thinking about the way they all borrow first/second person to refer to each other. thinking about spirit holder giratina also.

#the nemesis speaks #pla analysis #mostly for what i'm about to say in the tags #but i hit on the idea of giratina using third person exclusively which WAS sort of a one off itself #but i really love it now for the implications #bc i imagine it wouldn't have been doing that back when it was STILL the spirit holder. still a full divinity in itself #but having had spirit taken from it it no longer conceptualizes 'you' or 'i' or 'we'. only 'it.' for everything. #also that opens up so much room for epithets which i loooove. we've been over this. #how would giratina refer to itself in third person? volo? its siblings? #HMMMM. #i suppose i am also imagining here that in addition to tenses giratina also doesn't have like. proper names. #or maybe it's more that the form of communication it uses when translated into human languages. doesn't. communicate names properly #the divine tongue doesn't work with identfiers in that way #WHICH ITSELF ties back into another thing i was thinking about with the plates and- #ok i don't know if this post is for anyone anymore. i'm stoppng now.
