mecha is a mid genre and g-witch was extremely mid overall but it was mid in a way I personally enjoyed

#i understand why people are frustated with the ending to g-witch because it's a lot like previous series but with nominal queer elements #the thing is for me it was always apparent that G-witch's premise was extremely limited in scope #and it's apparent by the ending that it truly never wanted to grapple with a darker tone; Dawn of Fold actually barely mattered #there's so many flaws it's hard to call good but I ultimately most appreciated that the series was willing to be big dramatic and emotional #even if the payoffs to those moments are mediocre I like a lot of the framing and set dressing around the big climaxes #the fights are honestly pretty mediocre overall though that's a definite detriment #That's the mecha seeping through though
