Sometimes I just... think about how Razlo is the "younger" of him and Livio.

Razlo, the Tri-Punisher of Death, the scary boogeyman we get introduced to with badass fights and copious carnage. Razlo, the scared, defensive other self there to take the brunt of the abuse Livio endured as a kid.

Razlo. The Younger of the two of them.

Like obviously that's a thing that can happen with dissociative identity disorder, like alters are frequently "different" so him being younger, especially since he stems from specifically a childhood based trauma makes sense. But I just. I dunno. The fact that he's sort of a defensive side of Livio, one that's there to pop up when shit hits the fan and things have to get bad, despite being "younger" just gives me a lot of feelings????

Maybe it's just his wide-eyed expression and general over-the-top emotions, but he does legitimately come of as younger than Livio, both visually and temperament wise. Livio's frustrated and angry at Wolfwood, he feels betrayed and resigned to having to kill his friend. His face gets SO MANY LINES to show how fucking haggard and tired of this shit he feels. Meanwhile Razlo is feeling the full, excited, almost carefree 8D of LET'S FUCKIN' GOOOOOO to fight someone powerful, to impress Master Chapel, to prove his strength! Razlo's face is drawn with fewer lines most of the times, he grins more easily, his face, even thought it's the same face just feels... IDK. Even after Livio joins the good guys and stops looking quite so haggard and miserable, Livio and Razlo still visually read very differently!

And like. I dunno, I think it puts some of the stuff with him and Chapel in an interesting/more sad light as well. Where like. We know that Chapel really stuck his neck out to save Razlo/take him under his wing, and Razlo returned that faith and familial love fully! He completely trusts Chapel, and so it breaks him when he thinks Chapel has died. And then it breaks him ALL OVER AGAIN when he sees that Chapel was willing to kill him to get to Wolfwood!!!!!!

I don't have any sort of grand thesis here. Just a lot of feels and me holding up Razlo going LOOK AT HIM LOOK AT THIS GOOD BOY HE'S DOING HIS BEST.
