Cruise the Waters of Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is a quiet beach town in the south Texas region of Texas. The second largest city in Nueces County, It also extends to adjacent Aransas, Kleberg, and San Patricio County. Corpus Christi lies along the Gulf of Mexico, at the western end of the Texas coast. The coastal community is located on the Gulf of Mexico coast about ten miles from Cabo San Lucas, the largest port on the Gulf coast. Corpus Christi has many sandy beaches, which makes this place very attractive to tourists and sailors. Its rich history and culture add much to the attraction of this small city.

Corpus Christi offers a wide variety of attractions, but most famous among them are the historical skeletal remains found in the Chula Vista locality, which have been dated back to AD 250. Among these is the corroded remains of an ancient ship that was once used by the Aztecs to sail the waters of Mexico and the Caribbean. Another interesting site includes the remains of an ancient fort constructed by the Aztecs in what is today known as Chaparral County. Some of the other attractions include the Corpus Christi Historical Society Museum, the San Jacinto Historical Museum, the Corpus Christi Maritime Museum, the Corpus Christi College of Saint Benilde, and the Corpus Christi Parish Church.

As already mentioned, Corpus Christi also boasts a large number of cultural attractions, which draw tourists from all over the world. One of these includes the Historic Downtown Corpus Christi, which is home to a number of interesting relics. The Historic Downtown Corpus Christi features the ruins of an Aztec trading post, a mission, a Roman fortress, and other historic ruins. Another fascinating aspect of this place is its annual Cruise, which attracts thousands of yachtsmen, cruise lovers and cruise holidaymakers every year. This cruise is organised by the Cruise Line International (CLID), which is one of the leading cruise lines in the world.

Another tourist attraction in the city of Christi, is the Spanish explorer Columbus' bay, where you can walk along the edge of the bay. The bay is very beautiful and has a picturesque view of the city and harbor. If you like to do a bit of gardening, then you will be in luck because the city council allows for street planting, flower watering and tree maintenance in season. If you want to see the spectacular sunset on the coast, then you should head towards the Calleja Real or the San Diego Light House, which is open from Thursday to Sunday during the summer.

Historically speaking, the Portuguese explorer Christopher Columbus set off across the Atlantic Ocean to South America, looking for an 'American continent' that he could call his own. But, in 1493, he was turned back at the Panama entrance and so left his two companions back in corpus Christi - Francisco d Meno and Christopher Columbus. They decided to rebuild a fort on the Bay of Tela, now called Cortes Island and named it San Diego after Christopher Columbus himself. But, they also had another plan and this was to build a huge trading post here in corpus Christi. It took them nearly nine years to build this fort - the longest project in Spain - and it ended up being one of the most important international trading posts in the world.

There are many attractions here and they all draw hordes of tourists and vacationers each year. For a swim in the glorious Caribbean waters, you can opt for the star-shaped charter boat that cruises around the entire bay, visiting all the main attractions. The Grande water system offers a great view of the city and harbour. All the tourist attractions, such as the Grand Canyon, the Sea of Cortez, the Salt Lake City, Cozumel, Montezuma and Todromo can be visited easily from the cruise boats. The magnificent Montezuma Temple, dating to the fifth century AD, is the largest religious structure in Mexico and the world's third largest building.

One of the most popular places to visit in corpus Christi bay is the Tulum wharf, which is the biggest wharf in all of Mexico. It can take you to the island of Tulum, which is an active volcano resort and is the biggest attraction in the bay. You can visit the sunken ship wreck and the sunken town of Benahumara that sit adjacent to the wharf. Many yachts in the area also anchor off the wharf and offer tours of the area.

Corpus Christi has the most amazing natural beauty and the most exciting wildlife. There are over five thousand species of birds in Texas and almost half of these are threatened or endangered. A lot of the coastlines along Texas' eastern seaboard have seen a great deal of sea life decline due to warmer temperatures and increasing storms. This includes Galveston island, which is only six miles away from Corpus Christi and suffers from a severe lack of sea life.

No trip to Corpus Christi, no matter how short, would be complete without taking a cruise through the famous Nueces River. It is a spectacular and breathtaking stretch of water, thirty-seven miles long and twelve miles wide. The Nueces runs through four states in Texas: New Mexico, Arizona, California, and New York. Most of its length is covered with pine forests and hills covered with canopies. Some areas of the Nueces are considered to be sacred land of the Aztecs and the Mayans, some areas still hold important archaeological sites.

If you want to get to see the sights and sounds of Corpus Christi and all of its surrounding areas, then you need to get on the bus, train, or car. The bus tours are the easiest way to travel around town and are ideal for groups of at least twenty to thirty people. The train ride is the best way to see all of the sights, because it takes you through all of the major historical sites of Corpus Christi. Depending on your preferred mode of transportation, you can either make several stops along the way or just take the scenic route. Whatever you choose, taking a cruise through the beautiful waters of Corpus Christi will surely be one of your most memorable travels.
