Sometimes I forget that there’s an entire magical aspect to invader zim than just sci fi. Canonically you have beings like Mortos Der Soulstealer and Shadow Hog existing but then you also have the poop wizards who get their powers from poop cola and try to prevent a coming of Poopthulhu from dark wizards and then you start to realize the entire zim world is a lot bigger and crazier than from what we’ve been given.

Person A attempts to poison Person B over dinner

“What kind of trap is this?” Zim demanded as Gaz dropped a bowl of noodles on the table, jabbing a fork into the pile with rather more violence than was necessary. 

“Nothing.” She dropped into her own chair, watching him. (Well, her eyes were closed, but they were always closed. Zim figured she was watching him anyways.) “Dib invited you over to be his “study buddy”“ (Even someone unused to human social cues as Zim could hear the quotation marks around the phrase) ”-and I made you noodles so you can be out of here faster.“

"The Dib never said why he-" 

"Your grades suck. He doesn’t want you flunking. He couldn’t keep an eye on you if you end up in my grade.” Her sentences were short and clipped, and she was clearly losing patience. Zim poked the noodles a few times.

Nothing seemed to be deadly about them, so he slowly took a bite.

They were… delicious. How could she have made such good food? Zim immediately jabbed more noodles unto his fork and shoveled them into his mouth. Earth food usually was horrid, why was the Gaz human’s creation the exception to that rule?

“Fwwtt-” He swallowed. “What was in those?”

“Oh. Macaroni noodles, some peanut butter, and half a bottle of cyanide.” Zim quickly pulled out his skool-issued personal computer and looked up the last ingredient- GIR used the other two enough that he’d already known they were safe enough.

“Poison? You tried to poison me?” Zim stared at her, and she shrugged.

“Bet. Guess aliens are weird enough to be allergic to milk but like poison.” Gaz leisurely slid off her chair and sauntered over to the stairs. “Dib! You owe me twenty bucks!”

Zim heard a faint ‘dang it!’ from the second level, before shrugging and taking another bite. 

Hey, good food was hard to come by on a planet a quazillion miles from home.
