“Hmm…and so rather than pursue that which makes you happy, you prefer to seek the company of those who upset you by making you feel ashamed of that which you enjoy?” Albedo replied to your worries, lost deep in thought. Human behavior is always such a fascinating topic. The ability to think allows for decisions that are neither good nor bad—he’s an alchemist, not an omniscient god. While this is true, he still finds himself wanting to sort out this issue you have. He’s always glad to observe that which is curious to him and if he can help you as you have helped him before in the process then all the better.

“I know, it’s ridiculous. The thing I hate the most is that I start to get these negative thoughts when I do the things that make me happy too. I start to think things like ‘is this really ok’, ‘I should be doing something better with my time’, or ‘this is dumb and the enjoyment I get from it is strange’…ugh. Sorry Bedo, I know it isn’t your job to listen to me rant like this. Thanks for listening anyway.” The forlorn expression on your face makes him feel something that he doesn’t express at all. By this point in his life Albedo is surely aware of emotions, yet still, every time he experiences them is fascinating to him. Just how close is he to real flesh and blood rather than chalk and dust?

Willing himself out of his musings, he approaches you silently with that blank expression still on his face. It’s still just as intimidating as always, a secret power that makes even those much taller than him feel like mice.

“My dear friend, life is short and beautiful. As you acknowledged yourself, I am an alchemist and personal relationships are not my strong suit. This…ordeal you’ve described reminds me just how glad I am that I live my life the way I do. Alchemy is straightforward and honest, it doesn’t lie or deceive—or feel slighted or hurt. Alchemy is something I believe is worth devoting one’s life to. Many disagree, while perhaps not fully, some might ask me why I would spend a month so closely examining a hydro slime. When my results return inconclusive it all seems even more futile…” He turns to you with a soft smile and you realize that maybe that’s all you needed, anything but that look of scorn.

“As the days go by, I wonder if I’ll have any regrets when this is all over. Maybe I will feel as if I should’ve spent time meeting more people to combat this nonexistent feeling of loneliness that others project onto me. Maybe I’ll realize that I was so close to discovering some hidden truth if I had only devoted more time searching elsewhere…” He trails off for a moment to make sure he has your attention.

“Spending my time with Klee, the traveler, and you…these things have taught me something.”

You stare at him expectantly, wondering if you’ll start crying or if you already have.

“As long as you’re happy in the moments that you have, then you will have no room for regrets. Nobody is fit to judge your happiness and should you succumb to the harshness of unfit arbiters, you will find that happiness a lot less often.”

You continue to stare at him as if his face holds all the answers to the universe—in a way it just might. When he opens his mouth to say something else, you just hug him. You could be out there fighting pyro regisvines or cutting down the abyss order singlehandedly for the admiration of your acquaintances, but you realize this is all you need right now. This moment is all you want.

“Thank you…”

The first time you complimented albedo he had a look of wonder and surprise in his eyes, for he doesn’t typically get that kind of… recognition. So in other words he was very blushy for the rest of the day, because he kept think about it :)

Tiny headcanon

Klee and Qiqi meet for the first time and run around Monstadt looking at various animals and flora. Klee spouts out 'scientific facts' about them that Albedo and Sucrose taught her. Klee's not the best listener so a lot of what she says is only half right or true but in reference to the wrong subject.

Qiqi is suspicious at first but Klee's confidence overtakes her and she finds herself writing down a lot of of Klee's 'fun facts'.

When the two part, Klee asks if they can meet again in Liyue so Qiqi can show her around and teach her about her home.

Qiqi agrees but is apprehensive about talking for so long.

So when they finally meet again, Qiqi hires a tall handsome man with a soothing voice to walk them around spilling knowledge.

Klee is in awe of the man. He might know more than Albedo. And with that Klee starts to believe those with geo visions are the smartest people in Teyvet.

Now whenever Klee's stumped with a problem (and Albedo's not around) she asks Noelle for her advice. The other knights insist they can help but Klee only wants to ask geo vision carriers.
