you should absolutely try to do a ritual in minecraft. doesnt have to be serious. it can just be for fun. get some candles, book and quill, flowers, herbs, bones, whatever. go into creative mode, maybe put a playlist on to help you focus your energy, maybe go into a cave. its literally a sandbox game, you can literally do almost anything you think of. your creativity is so important to your magic, as long as you're able to find a medium to express it, it doesn't matter if its through a game, in daydreams, in a song, a spellbook or whatever. just be creative.

Do you have any posts on astral projection? I've been trying to do it for years because I knew I could do it as a child. I remember hovering over my body in bed but I haven't been able to do it since. The most I get is the feeling of falling when I wake up. I can lucid dream though since I just started practicing the craft I'm looking to enhance that as well. I've tried everything for astral projecting though from guided meditations to binaural beats, and just trying it on my own using things like the rope technique but I always fall asleep. The farthest I've gotten was feeling the room spinning but I could never pop out. I've gotten into dragon magic and I world hop in my dreams so I would like to explore everything more and use astral projection to connect deeper with the dragons. Do you have any advice, tips, or books to recommend? Thank you!
Heya!
I think that the biggest tip I can give you is to not let your expectations block you. I've been interested in astral projection intermittently throughout my life, but I got really serious about doing it about 2018. I was trying and trying to do it like you are now, but... nothing.
But I realized something. Like everyone else does, I was expecting astral projection to be where I'm thrust out of my body and I have this hyper-real experience that is as real and vivid and lucid to me as waking life is.
And so, as I was going about trying these different methods and techniques, I realized that I was doing them with the goal of reaching this expected experience.
But I realized... I don't know what it feels like to astral project. I had absolutely no way of knowing what it could feel like, and that by me having this expectation, I was automatically stopping myself from experiencing whatever it could ACTUALLY be like.
And so, I let go of all expectations, and I decided to try some techniques, and instead of trying to force a certain experience, I just decided to just... see what happens. And I did. And it worked.
Except. I didn't Astral Project; I Astral Traveled.
What is the difference?
Astral Projection is what everyone thinks of, where you are thrust out of your body and you experience it as visceral and lucid as you do waking life.
With Astral Travel, your consciousness is not 100% out of your body, like you expect it would be with Projection. A part of your being/consciousness remains in your body, and it is nowhere near as lucid or visceral as astral projection would be - it feels similar to how dreaming or hyper-real daydreams would be like.
Despite not being the Golden Standard that astral projection is, astral travel is still real, and quite effective. Most of my practice is based on it, and I've had many verified, shared experiences with other practitioners.
But what about astral projection? Here's the thing - I've found that astral Projection is extremely difficult. To put it into perspective, I've been astral traveling regularly (basically every day) for the past couple of years now. I've only successfully astrally-projected a handful of times. It takes insane will, intense mindfulness, and it is a very intense experience. I haven't really done it enough to have much more to say on it, or to give tips. But suffice it to say that I, a seasoned astral-traveler and energy worker, find it very difficult to do.
So. My advice? Don't let your expectations block you from experiencing. And also, I recommend looking into astral travel, rather than into astral projection. I think that you'll find greater success with that than with projection - at least at first, anyways.
I do have quite a few resources. I have my technique for astral traveling, as well as some tips and tricks, which you can find here. I also have tagged quite a few posts on my blog. Posts about traveling can be found at #astral travel, and posts about projection can be found at #astral projection. Also, if you see the tag #astral, that's for pics and stuff that I find that remind me of the astral plane. Maybe you can find some inspiration to draw from there ((:
Also, one other tip. You said that you can lucid dream - it is possible to access the astral plane through lucid dreaming. While you are lucid, imagine the barrier between the dream-world and the astral plane (yes, there is one). Travel to it, then go through it. I have found that my most vivid astral travel experiences happen when I do this.
Thanks for the ask! I hope this helps!
Blessings!

Method of achieving astral projection / OBE experiences?
Good question. Wibbly-wobbly answer from me. Let's start with a concept @thespellweavingspirit introduced me to; conceptualizing astral travel/projection on a spectrum from "shallow dive" to "deep dive."
One way to understand astral experiences is the level of immersion you experience. And I think understanding this concept and deciding what level you think "counts" is pretty vital to start out with.
So if you've ever lucid dreamed, or had an incredibly vivid dream, that's similar to my own concept of the "deep dive." An astral experience that deep is very intense and very vivid.
If you've ever had a casual daydream that you wanted to return to later on, and you pretty much remember everything that happened even if it's not really associated with sensory perception, that's similar to my own concept of a "shallow" dive. You can have astral experiences in a slight, sensory-shallow sort of way. That doesn't make them less real or less important.
But when approaching astral travel, you have to be realistic about how "deep" you'll be able to go. And you have to ask yourself if you're going to accept "shallow" experiences as real, or if you're going to choose to discard what you experience until it meets your own standard of vividness.
So all that being said, I've achieved travel in a few different ways. Starting with lucid dreams as a sort of dreamwalking experience, using relaxation techniques and deep meditations, being "pulled in" and having closed-eye visuals, and exploring doorways in my normal states of consciousness.
My wibbly-wobbly answer is that if you want someone to tell you a technique, give it a Google. There are lots of methods to accomplish it. I'd honestly recommend finding 2-4 different techniques and giving them a spin over a period of time, you know just giving each one an honest go.
And of course - ask yourself how deep you have to go before you agree that your experience is real. Just set the bar, really. Choose where it lands. Takes a lot of anxiety out of the operation IMO.
My less wibbly-wobbly answer is travel is much, much easier to achieve than most of us would like to believe; most of us have arbitrarily high standards for what "counts;" you're probably a lot better off starting with what you know about your thought processes, the way your mind works, and your beliefs and developing a personal technique; nobody is really going to be able to use any technique that goes against their natural modes of thinking and functioning; if you daydream a lot, just put a door there. Put a door in your daydream; walk away from the regular daydream and go to the door - the astral door. Walk through it. See what happens.

One of the most freeing things you can do as a Christian is start praying over EVERYTHING. And I don't mean "actually remember to pray over the important things that deserve divine attention" or something I mean the stupid stuff
"my videogame controller isn't working properly and it's messing up my game and it's really frustrating me, but I really wanted to play this right now" you have NO idea how often this actually works
"God I can't find my other shoe and I'm in a hurry, please help me find it" BOOM, found.
"I can't sleep because I'm getting myself worked up, give me peace." And it works. Consistently!
Yes we should treat God with reverence, but you misunderstand; he is our father, and our friend. Talk to him. Talk to him about anything and everything. He'll always hear it.

Money Bowl (in minecraft)
for my fellow witches that struggle with maintaining anything in reality lol
Tumblr media
step 1. find a place in your house and set a hopper. i prefer a hopper to a chest because its more open, and limits what you can add so you don't overstuff your spell (ive found adding too much to one spell can muddy up the intent and make it unclear)
Tumblr media
step 2. add your "money" and other items pertaining to your prosperity goals
i added:
* an enchanted book (Looting III)
* a gold nugget (to represent currency)
* an emerald for patience (and also to more directly represent currency as emeralds are money in minecraft)
* sweet berries to sweeten sour situations
* a rabbit's foot for good luck
Tumblr media
step 3. throughout your week, add more gold and emeralds until you reach your limit, then redo your "money bowl" to refresh! (if you forget to, thats ok! just try to refresh it whenever you remember to :D)
have a wonderful day!!

I've started using shufflemancy during spirit work and it's been working surprisingly well!
What I do is reach out to the spirit, let them know that I'm looking to communicate, and choose a playlist. Then I put in my ear buds, put the playlist on shuffle, and wait for certain songs, melodies, lyrics, and titles to "ping". Sometimes I take notes.
It's been really helpful for gathering information on specific spirits, especially when used with other forms of communication like tarot, scrying, and hedge-crossing.

Minecraft Magic: Ward
Tumblr media
I am creating a witch hut in Minecraft, which I will use to practice actual magic. I incorporated barrels into the design of the outside, originally just for aesthetic purposes, but I figured it would be perfect to put a ward in the wall of my witchhut
I used the new blocks, skulk sensors and a skulk shrieker. So the skulk sensor (the corners) detect movement and send a signal to the shrieker (in the centre). This summons a Warden to protect the place. Wardens are powerful and in game are not meant to be dealt with. The advice is to run, gtfo, nerdpole up in any way possible. So I thought that would be a good base for my ward!
Further I used spiderwebs to entangle, obsidian, a shield, and black candles for protection, and spider eyes to watch and as an evil eye against those not welcome.

Spirit Companion Advice: Names.
-- For anyone who is public about their spirit companions: May seem obvious to some, but I do not recommend sharing your entity's/spirit's real name (Or the name you normally use for them in spirit work practice) out there. The exception is with a very trusted few. The other exception if the spirit/entity does want to be very public and getting something out of it. Names do have power, but you can also invent a fake name with setting the intention for cloaking or decoy. Privacy is also an important factor, of course. For example, you and the spirit/entity can come up with a suitable name, use the name to make a sigil and the sigil's intention can be protective or with decoy/deceptive purposes incase someone has ill intentions. ----- This came to mind after someone asked this question earlier that jogged my memories on why I take great precautions myself. I had a lot of weirdos in the past who had tried to copy me and my spirit companions by our function, energy, and even our names. Some even tried to create servitors in attempts to create a near exact replica of my Spirit Family. It was just creepy, disrespectful and frustrating. In addition, I had someone tried to supposedly "take" one of my spirit Family members by force believing they're far more fit for her. She ended up being a stalker. (And no, this person wasn't even close to making it happen) I do not wish for that experience for anyone following this path and minding their own business. Protect your beloved spirit team in any way you are able to. I know my Family aren't helpless by a long shot but they are my Family, and I will always be protective of who's precious to me.

Talking to Ancestral Home Spirits
For a long time, my family and relatives have experienced different kinds of spirit activity in the ancestral home of my father’s family. Last November 29, my family and relatives tasked me to talk to the spirits and get to know them.
When I first entered the house, I felt the vibrations of the spirits because they felt excited that people are visiting. There are 9 spirits in total, 5 downstairs and 4 upstairs. None of these spirits are human so they are elements or entities. The 5 are land spirits native to the land the house was built upon. The 4 are from the province where the wood of the house was from. One of the 4 is the leader whom most listen to.
I asked them how they are and why they still linger. Collectively they answered how they made a deal with my great grandfather and great grandmother to work together and protect this home. They love my great grandparents because they have the ability to converse with them, which I never knew! My great grandfather was a businessman and these spirits helped him with some decisions, especially knowing if the person he is dealing with is trustworthy or not. Also, they would tell them if any of the guests who visit are ill-intentioned or not. In a way, they actively work together to make sure the home is a happy home.
My great aunt could attest to this as she recounted how her father told her brother not to go to the boy scouts trip as he didn’t have to or did not need to. Only to find out the unfortunate event that happened. The spirits warned her father of this event. There were a lot more, but they are very personal for me to tell.
This event made me realize a lot of things, especially that special connection of spirits and humans working together. This was a great learning experience for me.

I want to see my companions but idk how I can when I meditate?
Hi Anon!
First and for most, relax when you do so and don't panic or stress too much. You can practice and practice more. Remember to journal your progress.
Invite your companion when you meditate. This would depend on what type of seeing you want to achieve.
If through your mind's eye, you meditate to visualize them. You can pick out small details first like colors, feelings, imagery, and form or shape. From there, you can further practice going in detail with them. You can remember this exercise so you can have a good idea of your companion's energy too.
Details will be clearer to you once you can practice more. Another good thing if you do feel lost is ask your companion what they look like and they can help you visualize. Any form of oracle, tarot, or cards with imagery of different figures can help you further clarify what they look like.
As for physically seeing them, this would depend if they could manifest fully. Not all can fully manifest in our physical realm. At most probably a shadow or form of a figure. Other times, they can fully do a full apparition. Though focus is important to look at them, remember not to strain yourself if you are trying to see them physically.
There are some tools that can help them create forms like candle flame, incense smoke, and etc. Though it would be best to research on those types of tools.
Remember to rest and take care of yourself.
Also I found a post of different methods of seeing. This can help you as well.

Okay, but hear me out. Ask your divination tools what you have in common with your favorite characters. I'll go first.
For this one I went with Ruth Langmore from Ozark. Based on these cards (the hermit, ten of pentacles, seven of pentacles) I prefer solitude but find value in family. There is also indication of aiming to satisfy long-term goals and being a little bit prideful, but still hard working.

Hello!
I’m sorry to bother you, but I’ve been scouring the entirety of tumblr to find all the blogs that use video games in their craft and asking this question because I’m bad at research: is there any advice you have for spellcrafting in video games? With games such as Stardew valley (the one I’m trying to work with), it kinda feels like there’s a limitation to what you can do, so I’m trying to gather ideas on how to use video game mechanics in spells to work around or even with those limitations
Have a good day/evening/night!✨💐🍡🍯
Hello!
Personally, I haven't played SDV at all to help give you specific examples of possibilities, you have to work that out for yourself...
However, I will give my two cents on spellcrafting with the knowledge I have currently, though I'm still figuring things out so take it with a grain of salt.
Spellcrafting, from what I've noticed, has two main aspects: intention and energy. Everything else that people do usually goes to help strengthen the intention as well as direct the energy through specific ingredients or designs or actions.
Intention is what you want to happen. These are things like wanting to protect your space or yourself, or promoting prosperity in your life. It's the direction or change that you want to make.
Energy is what you're putting into the world, into the spell, to make that change happen. It can be aided by ingredients you're putting into something that you consider relevant to the goal of your spell, or actions you take in the game that you feel is relevant.
With those two parts in mind, the game and its items and mechanics just becomes a medium to make spells happen and it all comes down to you to figure out how to make it work.
But that's my thoughts on that matter. Other people can see it another way.
For research, I would suggest to not to look for specific resources on how to do magic the way you want. Maybe pick up books detailing just the basics of spell work and spellcrafting. It's good to have. A handle on what a spell entails in general anyways, you can adapt it to any number of things.
It's why I'm appreciating the spell section of The Door To Witchcraft by Tonya A. Brown since she breaks down the reasons why she chose the ingredients she does that makes sense to me.
And I've also had my eye on looking into The Elements of Spellcrafting by Jason Miller, which I'm interested to see what it says.
Anyways! Hope this helps and good luck!

a case against fucking around and finding out: sometimes the finding out is not worth it.
Not to hit the coffee and immediately say something melodramatic, but here we go:
In the context of learning witchcraft or similar occultish pursuits, the quip fuck around and find out seems to put a lot of emphasis on the fuck around
and I think a lot less focus on the finding out.
I think that the finding out is assumed to be something that can be swept up and tidied under the rug, like:
Whoops, time to learn counterspells!
Well thank goodness I saved that bookmark for protection amulets.
What a relief! I saw a fairy doctor talking about how to correct offenses to the fae, that's really going to come in handy.
But I don't know if people consider that the finding out is sometimes, like:
I've had intermittent recurring pain in my heart for over a decade where a demon implanted energy tentacles into me, and energy healers have warned me to leave it alone. This is something I live with now.
I did a spell in the forest - I didn't know I needed to ask for permission - and now the trees are haunting me; I can't close my eyes without seeing a corpse-like dryad attacking me. I consulted with a spirit doctor and now I have to make offerings in the forest eight times a year just to appease those spirits, and my green magic has stopped working. It's time to rebuild my path.
I accepted the first spirit that appeared to me as my spirit guide. Six years of chronic fatigue later, after losing most of my friends and being able to move nowhere with my life, someone in a Discord told me that spirit is an energy vampire.
I learned to speak with ghosts and the first thing that happened was one of them implanting an energetic cord in me. It told me it was a symbol of honor, but since then I haven't been able to shut the ghosts out. It's affecting my relationships and my ability to work, and I need help.
I feel like I swing on the pendulum between "yeehaww, get in the back of the pickup truck y'all, let's go wrassle that magic!" and "last week Earl got his ankle run over by the truck and he needs seven surgeries to keep his foot."
I don't think either side is more correct than the other. Magic is a big landscape, and it's filled with mountains and valleys.
Just, like. Be careful out there, y'all. Sometimes the finding out really isn't worth it.

Toxic Spirituality sounds like:
You are 100% responsible for your own circumstances.
The ego is an enemy that needs to be eliminated.
Reacting with anger is a sign that you need to "do more work."
Meditation is purely a positive and blissful experience.
Control your thoughts to manifest your reality.
"Rising above" your emotions is a sign of spirituality.
Can confirm that these are, indeed, all toxic.

Note:
This is something that I've personally been coming to terms with but I do feel that it is something that affects the community at large and is almost a rite of passage for those embarking on the path. The basic sense is:"
IF IT FUCKING WORKS, THEN IT FUCKING WORKS
If you find that a lemon, chili, glass, and cigarette ash spell to hex your enemy works well, then it works. Don't let the dogmatic cunts on TikTok and whatever fucking else tell you that it's weak. If throwing said enemy in a freezer works better than the lemon for you, then it works.
I find that a few of us fall into the entire vortex of needing to supplement our practices to sort of make them make sense along with others, overcomplicating or changing aspects of it that work because of some other influence - again, the entire lemon hexes are weak bullshit, it works for me. I know it works, I'm not fixing something that isn't broken.
So, the note of this little post:
Don't overcomplicate your practice for the sake of making it more standing in the eyes of another.
The only thing that should determine what stays and go's in your practice is your personal morality and study.
If it works, it works - you did a spell and got your desired result... wasn't that the endgame?

The maiden/mother/crone concept did not exist before Wicca.
Which means, any goddess, spirit, divine being who predates Wicca is not a maiden/mother/crone.
There's really nothing wrong with just letting Wicca be Wicca.
