Ayine Khaneh Palace, Isfahan , Iran,
Noor Art and Architecture Studio completed the digital reconstruction of the Ayine Khaneh Palace in Isfahan, Iran.
The project is based on historical planning and written documentation to visualize one of the most important buildings in the city. In 1891, the palace was destroyed by Isfahan Governor Zello Soltan.
The purpose of the reconstruction was to create a cultural structure that would recapture the architecture of the Safavid era and the Persian architecture.
As an important historical city of Iran, Isfahan was chosen as the capital of the Persian Safavid dynasty. There have been many great architectural projects during this period, including palaces, bridges and mosques. The Ayine Khaneh Palace is at the heart of these projects. It is located on the southern bank of the Zayandehrood River, a garden built in the 16th century Shah Sao and Shah Abbas II named Saa'dat Abad.
The reconstruction project revolves around three historical resources: first, image files, such as sketches and plans by French architects Eugene Flandin and Pascal Coste in 1840, and photos taken by German telegrapher and photographer Ernst Hoeltzer before the palace was destroyed. Second, written descriptions of historians and tourists from Persia and Europe, such as Mirza Tavildal, Jean Sardin and Engelbert Kempfer. Third, the team used replicas of other buildings that were built at the same time, such as Chehel Sotoun Palace, Ali Ghapou, Hasht Behesht and Ashraf Hall.
According to historians, this palace is similar to the Chehel Sotoun Palace. The mirror palace has a porch with 18 pillars connected to a hall. The walls are decorated with mirrors and paintings, and the project features marble. There is a white marble pool in the center of the entrance. There are four fountains in the pool. This palace has stood tall until the 19th century.
