I (@echoesout) like the idea. AHS has a history with letting some storylines run for too long, so I hope this will mean we get two short but cohesive stories.

I’m still calling that the two stories won’t be completely unrelated. I don’t see a reason to do it this way otherwise.

Bless Miss Leslie for clearing things up! So we’re getting two mini seasons, kind of like how Roanoke was split into the reenactment and the return. It’s definitely an interesting format, and one they’ve been able to pull off with relative success as long as they don’t try to cram too much in. I just hope that the casts will overlap some, because it would be a shame to only see our faves for half the season.

New info?! So this is slightly different than the promo, which said “two stories, one season.” This means that we’re going to have two entirely different casts, and that the stories might be a lot more independent than we thought! Who do you think will be in the second cast?? The AHS alums not currently involved with season 10 include Taissa, Angela, Emma, Cody, Jamie, Connie, Dylan, Denis, Zach, Cheyenne, Gabourey, Chloë, Jessica of course, and possibly Kathy (if the rumors are true that Frances replaced her in the known lineup for AHS 10).

It also makes it sound like the “one by the sand, one by the sea” could mean two entirely different locations, and your lovely mod @its-a-goode-day is calling it now: Area 51!!! One season in the deserts of Nevada, and one on the New England coast. Which makes aliens seem like the obvious tie-in, but who knows what Murphy has got up his sleeve? One thing’s for sure—we were fools to believe he’d have everything written before filming began 😂

The two stories will definitely be strongly linked, otherwise they wouldn’t reveal that it’s two stories in advance and they would just let the season play. So it does make a lot of sense that we’ll be seeing two stories in different time periods one kind of being the cause for the second one’s events. I’m really on board with this theory.

We know there are creatures, aliens have been rumored, but nothing has been confirmed. I’m somehow imagining these creatures to be man-made rather than supernatural. Think Dr. Arden from Asylum and his experiments x100 and gone really wrong.

So, the title does actually (surprisingly) relate to an idea I’ve been thinking about for a while, that we might get a story told from two time periods or perspectives. I was thinking mostly in the context of the Black Flash theory: that part of it would be the original events that created the myth and part would be present day when the same strange things start happening again. And since the term “double feature” is used a lot in the context of old black & white monster movies, this kind of tracks with the Black Flash or the cryptid route.

But now, with the sea & sand hint, I’m also thinking back to the “things are beginning to wash up on shore” teaser, and my other theory is this: one perspective will be present day, where the wreckage of a ship brings something supernatural and creepy to land, and the other story will be the events that led to the shipwreck in the first place.
