What to do after Diploma in Tool & Die making from NTTF or other famed institutes ?
One question, We all Tool & Die makers have in common after completing the course of Tool & Die Making!
"What Should I do after completing my Diploma as a Tool & Die maker"
I was having the same question before 5 yrs, When I have completed my Diploma as a Tool & Die maker from NTTF.
If you too have the same question, then you are at the right place.
In this blog - "I will take you through my journey of being an ex. NTTF person through to becoming a successful Product Design Engineer"
Life during Industrial training :
I got my campus placement at Rinder India Pvt Ltd as a Tool room engineer. It all happened during my Industrial training days, I was happily working & learning about different Injection moulds, Which I was always interested on & soon completed 6 months. All my friends were busy planning on what to do & where to go after our Industrial training.
It was really tough for me to choose a future, Which was safe & reliable. I have asked many people including my peers, seniors, NTTF faculty. All there answers were almost identical starting from, "Ajay - Don't take risks, continue as a Tool & Die maker" through to their emotional advice "Ajay - Follow what your heart says".
I was having tough times & I was in a dilemma at choosing the right path for my career, as I always wanted to do more than the job of a Tool & Die maker.
The Journey : From earning 7000 ₹ to 80000 ₹.
Human psychology says :- "People listen to everyone & finally does their personal intent"
The same happened with me. Back 5 years ago, during my Industrial training "Product Design & Development" was a booming field with numerous jobs, and till today it stays at top for the people in Mechanical field.
As we are Tool & Die makers, We all have the necessary skills to start our careers as product design engineers. I have done enough research about the job benefits, future security & finally chosen Product design as my career.
Why I have chosen Product Design instead of Tool & Die Making as a Profession ?
Unlimited Wisdom. Higher growth rate prospective. Better future with endless possibilities. Highly secured jobs compared with others.
I strongly believe that the profession for any Tool & Die maker next to Tool room must be product design.
"Product design for any Tool & Die maker is as simple as learning how to walk the first steps in childhood".
As they say, The thought which is in mind has to be implemented as early as possible in order to gain maximum advantage for the desired goal. "I have done the same & today I earn at a whopping 80K per month".
What to learn ? Below are the leading CAD & domain skills in the current market trends. CAD Software's :- Creo & Catia. Domain Skills :- Plastic Product Design & Sheetmetal Product Design.
