Do other writers ever get this like, hyper-specific dialogue exchange drop into their brains and you know exactly where these character are standing and what they’re doing and how they’re saying these words but that’s all you get. You don’t have much other context and this specific moment that exists only at this time in your headspace??

It feels impossible sometimes to talk about your experiences as an asexual person without getting lumped in with purity culture because it’s somehow simultaneously true that society hates sex and puts sex everywhere so both people who want to express their sexuality and people who don’t want to participate in it end up having knee-jerk reactions to each other because we’ve all built up defense mechanisms ready to trigger at a moments notice so you try to talk about how sex and romance is everywhere and inescapable and you don’t wanna be involved with it and then people blame you for the kink at pride discourse when you weren’t even thinking about that

This post isn't a specific dig at Twitter because tumblr does it too. This post isn't "oh tumblr is so much better" because it's not. you cant open someone's blog without an account. this post isn't even specifically about Social media sites- you can't look at any site without an account nowadays. You're prompted to make an account to look at cooking recipes. you're prompted to make an account to view articles, and fucking location directions. you're REQUIRED to make an account for so many different things including simple things like a website that unzips files! or converts them into other files!

I used to be able to go onto twitter, or tumblr or any of these other websites and use it literally like a normal user without being able to post- i could look at people's profiles, i could look up different tags and content, the only thing i was locked away from was posting on my own! and now! you INSTANTLY get prompted to make accounts to even glance at a post!

And this is Not a dig at people who block their stuff from guest view- that is their right! but the ENTIRE INTERNET is refusing to let people be guests anymore. I have 400 useless, dead accounts because I'm not allowed to curiously glance through fucking deviantart without an account. I can't search twitter for news because to even see the basic fucking dashboard you need an account. I can't check someone's tumblr to see if their art commissions are open without having an account. You aren't allowed to be a guest online anymore.

and for the love of god this post is NOT ABOUT COMMISSIONS.
