You will learn that sometimes there is no poetry for the things that tear you apart.

“I no longer believed in the idea of soul mates, or love at first sight. But I was beginning to believe that a very few times in your life, if you were lucky, you might meet someone who was exactly right for you. Not because he was perfect, or because you were, but because your combined flaws were arranged in a way that allowed two separate beings to hinge together.”
— Lisa Kleypas, Blue-Eyed Devil (via perrfectly)

“You either like me or you don’t. It took me twenty-something years to learn how to love myself, I don’t have that kinda time to convince somebody else.”

Love isn’t perfect. Not by a longshot. There are fights, and jealousy, and sometimes feelings of distrust. There are nights when you’re too tired to cuddle, you just want to sleep, and your partner feels sad. There are days when everything seems to go wrong, and you might even snap at your lover by accident. You might go to bed angry at each other over something silly, and while they do say to never go to bed angry, it’s actually more healthy if you do, that way you both wake up with clear minds and can talk through things and apologize.
These things aren’t ideal, but they are a part of love, and you have to take the good with the bad. For richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, etc. (yes, I just quoted wedding vows, hush) These are the things that make your relationship stronger and cause you to love and appreciate each other more.
When you go through bad times, whether they be your fault or the universe giving you a giant middle finger, just remember what you have at the end of the day: someone who loves you. Think about the good times, laughing at stupid memes, or cooking your favourite meal with (or for) each other, or planning your future together. The bad days and fights and jealousy are not the end of the world, or our relationship. They’re a test to see if you’re worthy of the other person.
You have to take the bad days if you want to have the days of lounging around in your underwear munching all day, or going on walks through a part of town you’ve never been, or waiting all day to see your sweetheart and kiss them ever so gently on the forehead.
And if you’re having a lovely day, but yall burn dinner by accident, laugh it off and treat yo self to takeout in your jammies. If your love gets caught in the rain with no umbrella on the way home from work, throw some towels in the dryer and warm your wet bae up. Never be afraid to show you care with the little things that would seem insignificant to most, it’s more appreciated than you know, and shows the other person you truly love them.
I know love can feel like rocket science sometimes, but just work through it, make sure your partner knows how much you care, and you’ll never have to doubt if your love is true or not. You can get through any fight with time, patience, and understanding. You can overcome a jealous moment if you gently ask your partner about it. Feelings of distrust can be worked through with calm conversation, no yelling or accusations. Don’t ever give up on someone you truly love just because of bad days. No relationship is perfect, and they can always be improved.
Remember, you’re only on this earth for a short time. Don’t mess up your opportunities.

“You get a strange feeling when you’re about to leave a place. Like you’ll not only miss the people you love but you’ll miss the person you are now at this time and this place, because you’ll never be this way ever again.”

“Not everything is supposed to become something beautiful and long-lasting. Sometimes people come into your life to show you what is right and what is wrong, to show you who you can be, to teach you to love yourself, to make you feel better for a little while, or to just be someone to walk with at night and spill your life to. Not everyone is going to stay forever, and we still have to keep on going and thank them for what they’ve given us.”
