“You’ve met the Didact?” the Major was at first surprised at this, but soon calmed himself. “And you state that he was belligerent towards you modern humans? That is not surprising. I am shocked that some Forerunners stay within this galaxy, despite the Superweapon firing.”
Diehg gazed at the outside beyond the ship. The Major could only hope that the thing that he and Joe were to face...would never come.
How to cope with fighting against another enemy, whether the enemy be misguided or with true intent?
Ancient Humans had to deal with both misguided and vengeful enemies. Many times, Diehg wondered why he followed his Lord of Admirals to a life of military.

Diehg’s eyes widened after the Chief asked for an explanation. “Yes...the Sickness.
“The Sickness arose a long time ago due to an experiment. We humans, along with the alliance with the San ‘Shyuum, fed a found organic dust to a domesticated species. The species began to exhibit odd behaviors, but we excused it. Eventually, the Pheru--the species had begun to eat each other, and soon, had begun to trick us into eating it too. Soon, the outbreak began.
“Our Leader eventually found the last Precursor, and all I can tell you from my Lord is that the Precursor told the truth. That truth is that we are all being manipulated. Humans, manipulated to fail. Forerunners, manipulated to fall. The truth also tells you that the organic dust is Our Creators. Truth will tell you that this infection was to happen. This demoralizing truth, it tells us that the Precursors are currently enacting their plan.”
Diehg once again dissociated, staring at the ground beneath him. To realize repeatedly that what the Precursors are doing is revenge...pains him. The Major could not blame the Precursors for being angered at the Forerunners, but to use others for this cause hurt.
Let us hope that we can get out of this predicament!

“I believe we indeed will face quite an adversary,” assured the Major. “And our Navy, it is now defunct. My fellow officers and I still survive, thanks to the Forerunners and the former Monitor I was encased in.”
Diehg was not currently aware of the eventual opponent that he will face, and he hoped that it wasn’t an opponent of high caliber.
Especially the Shaping Sickness.
He could only hope that his Fellow Ancient Humans will be ready for what is to come. Fortunately, not all of Humanity has been lost. Fortunately, the modern humans are here. One question lingered for long in the Major’s mind.
“Joe, do you know where the Forerunners have gone?”

Hi, everyone! I would like to extend an invitation to every Halo RPer on here to come join a Discord server set up for our community.
The link is here. It will also be available at all times in my description, and others if they choose to put it there. Just be nice, follow the rules, and have a fun time connecting with others outside of Tumblr!

“I assume you come from the the future because...of you,” Diehg started. “Let me elaborate. Within this galaxy, this universe, anything seems to be possible. Currently, my kind and our alliance are facing a virulent threat. We had recently come to find that the threat is our Creators.”
The Major sat on the floor, crossing his legs and facing the Chief. “Our Creators, they are noted to have had high technological prowess. It is even hypothesized that they can manipulate space and time itself. We Humans have witnessed the Sickness manipulate flesh and mind. Our Creators manipulate our very actions now...”
The Major did not notice that he was looking down on the platform beneath him. The current topic depressed Diehg. “That Sickness, or Precursors...one and the same.” Diehg snapped out of what was dissociation, and looked up at the Chief. “I suddenly got lost in my elaboration! I am trying to say that the Creators could have had something to do with you being here.”

“Hello to you,” the Monitor replied.
The Forerunner Monitor swayed for a bit, moving to his left side. The Monitor then let out a holographic projection of the being within it. This Monitor shell was Forerunner indeed, but within the machine was a Human.
The Human’s physical appeared before the modern human. “I am Major Diehg Kathenka of the Interstellar Human Navy. It is a pleasure to meet you.”
How odd. The Major was a strange presence amongst the various modern humans around him. Oddly enough, the one who calls himself “Spartan” did not seem to appear similar to his kind.
Joe is his name. How different, he and I.

Joe had been assigned to the UNSC again for a simple mission.  There were reports of the Covenant remnants launching strikes again, and Joe was personally requested to join the unit, likely owing to his Chozo Power Suit.
When Joe boarded the ship, he was surprised to see a Forerunner Monitor present on the ship.  Apparently this Monitor knew something.  Joe was, for his part, already decked out in his Chozo Power Suit, which had been massively upgraded over time and even made the Legendary model.
Joe approached the Monitor.  “Greetings,” he said.  “Spartan Delta-371, name’s Joe.  Former Marine, rank of Captain.  Who might you be?”

“Hm...” the Major went. “You are rather...foreign. I ask because of your armor, your dialect. You obviously do not come from this time. I assume you come from the future. And what is the “Covenant”? What is the purpose of the group?”
The Major asked many questions before realizing that the human was just as bewildered as he was. He couldn’t help it, though. It seemed to Diehg that Life may choose to bring upon strange things to the soldier’s mind. It was bad enough that the Humans were facing a “dual war” with the Forerunners and the Shaping Sickness.
Now we have to aid a lost human?

“Major,” an Ancient Human officer addressed, “this is quite an unusual situation.”
Indeed it was. The Major did not know what to think of it. This situation…contained an odd occurrence. Diehg, the Major, wondered if Commander Yprikushma would know how this happened.
A human of a different time aboard the ship.
Diehg walked over to the armor-clad human. He stopped in his tracks, turning his head to look at Forthencho and the others, who were observing the armored human. Diehg was as bewildered as the other officers. He wondered how the human got here. Perhaps the only way to obtain answers was to question them.
The Major walked over to the human, then stopped to hold a comfortable distance. “Hello. What is your name? What do you go by?”

“Ah, Chief,” the Major repeated, “I see.” Diehg placed his right hand under his chin, observing the design of Chief’s armor. It is obviously not Forerunner, neither is the individual clad in it. He is absolutely human, but where could he have come from? He seems to understand the language being spoken.
How?
The Major squinted his eyes with his hand still under his chin. “Tell me, where did you come from?”

Forthencho, my Lord, gazed upon the void enshrouding the ship we were on. It is unlikely for a leader to openly be dissociating from what is currently happening, and what is to be. Forthencho... he wanted to show everyone how he was feeling.
“You spoke with it? My Lord, do you know what it has done to the others?”
The Lord of Admirals gazed upon that void for sometime, and then rotated his head and body slightly, and his eyes met mine.
“I have spoken with the Primordial, Diehg. And I am more than aware of what recently took place.”
Forthencho turned his front to face my way, and started to walk my way. I was trying to figure out how he felt after that altercation. He looked angry and disturbed...and confused. Perhaps annoyed and frustrated. Scared and depressed. He was always like this, but this time, it is different.
He was about a meter away from me. “I do not want you near that thing,” he said.
That is all he said.

We got a new image of Forthencho, the Lord of Admirals, from the new Halo app (and may also appear in Mythos)!
They even gave him the exaggerated codpiece that Chakas couldn’t help but notice in Primordium :’)
