Writing Prompt

There are many instances in time when the world doesn’t seem real…when life just hits different.

Leaving a concert.

The day after your birthday.

Staying late at school.

Sleepovers at grandma’s house.

Heading home on the train at 2am.

Going over to your friend’s house for the first time when you were little.

As it turns out, these moments feel like they’re not real because they aren’t.

modern coffee shop au

geralt isn’t a coffee person, but yennefer is. so when she tells him that he owes her at least forty favors and he can slowly start repaying them by getting her a coffee right now, he has no choice but to agree

then, of course, ciri wants coffee too, even though it makes her hyperactive and giddy and she’ll end up complaining about how she can’t sleep - but geralt can’t say no when she gives him the puppy dog look, and that’s how he ends up at dandelion cafe with two ridiculous coffee orders

he knows yennefer usually takes her coffee black, so she must be messing with him because there’s no way she would ever unironically order a venti matcha green tea frappuccino made with soy milk, chips, and peppermint. he cuts ciri some slack, however, even though her order is just as elaborate

there’s no one behind the counter when he walks through the doors, and he rings the bell next to the tip jar. he might be hearing things, but he could swear there’s renaissance music playing softly on the speakers

he’s caught off guard when there’s a flurry of movement that bursts through the back doors. a lanky looking man with brilliant blue eyes walks over to him and leans over the counter, too close for geralt’s comfort. his nametag reads jaskier in loopy handwriting

“hello! welcome to the Dandelion, how can i help you?”

animals love jaskier

geralt doesn’t know how he missed it earlier. when he sings, birds stop and listen. forest animals poke their noses out of bushes to watch him, following him until the song is over and even longer after just to hear him ramble to himself.  jaskier will feed them scraps of his food, let them perch on his shoulder as he walks

geralt mentions it one day, on the off-hand, and jaskier shrugs it off. “my mom said she helped out a sorceress when she was pregnant and she blessed me. i don’t know if it’s true”

jaskier doesn’t seem to believe the story is true, but geralt does. it must be some kind of magic. there’s no other explanation; jaskier is completely human - there’s not an ounce of magic in him - so the story about the sorceress makes sense

humans can’t stand him because jaskier talks and talks, never knows when to shut up, can’t keep quiet for the life of him

but animals can see things in him that people cannot, can feel the inherent good in jaskier, and they love him for it

his voice is a part of it, but jaskier’s aura is also soft and warm, full of all the brightest, kindest things on earth. they love him because he has so much love to give everything he comes across, human or not

other things to consider

the animals are super protective of him

when he travels alone in the wilderness, they crowd around him, and he’ll fall asleep surrounded by them

it works on bigger animals too, like bears and deer. the first time geralt saw it, he almost killed the bear before jaskier stopped him

jaskier will hum a melody and the birds will mimic it (he has his own backup chorus!!)

roach usually doesn’t like anyone that interacts with geralt, so she doesn’t like jaskier at first but he grows on her

sometimes roach will fall asleep with her head in jaskier’s lap

crows and other birds will bring him shiny objects like coins. it’s not a lot, but enough that he can treat himself to some ale

foxes and other wildlife will bring their babies to jaskier, and jaskier babytalks them. not like “ooooh, wook at you, you’re so widdle and adorable,” but in a super gentle, soothing tone that he rarely uses

geralt would never admit it, but that voice does things to him

it becomes a problem sometimes because geralt can’t bring himself to kill the animals for food when jaskier loves them so much

And in that yt singer turned pop sensation jaskier au, people speculate.

The original "dandys", the first 3k subs, the fanparents of yt channel JDandelion, are more than happy to educate the now 4.7M subscribers (jaskier cried when he saw the numbers rise to 3M after 3 months of promoting the album) of public info on Jas: his vlogs, songs, dead myspace acct ("how tf did they find that" "theyre fans jas, they just do")

The dandys pour into Jaskier's content, and of course they continuously listen to jaskier's first album Sincerely and its 10 songs about love and heartbreak, first and last times, and while these songs may look to be just about the general experiences of life, fans cant help but feel like theyre about something more -someone more. 

so they listen and read and watch religiously, waiting for more content from jaskier to find out who is jaskier’s muse

so while teardrops on my guitar is jaskier’s mainstream hit, the dandys’ favorite song from the album is her sweet kiss because it is just so rich with information and so, so raw and so, so heartwrenching and maybe it’s about a girl that broke his heart, who crushed him with a sweet kiss

The new dandys are so adamant that it has to be one of jaskier's ex gfs because who else could it be ??? But one dandy, oh bless their heart, post something on tumblr that shook the fandom to the core. A compilation of grainy shots from jaskier's past bar gigs. Every video was unique in its own way, from the crowds to jaskiers outfit. But two things were always constant in the videos.

Jaskier would always be smiling towards a corner in the room. And in that corner would always be a man of hulking figure. And the white hair was unmistakable in every video; jaskier would always be smiling at the same white haired man in every vid and while the man was always scowling, he would always stare back.

And an addition to the post blew everyones mind: a video of jaskier's graduation gig. In it jaskier still wore the same bright smile at first, and he would look at the brooding man all the same. And lo and behold, the man, gave the smallest hint of a smile back. And jaskier. His smile grew- brightened- glowed. His smile could thaw snow as white as the brooding man's hair and welcome spring. His smile was shining with ecstacy and love. And that video just debunked people's theory of an ex gf. And now everyone is just asking, as they all stared at the man with the barest hint of a smile and hair as white as snow and snow as cold as his heart (for how could he rob jaskier of his smile who gives birth to spring)

How the Witcher show runner really feels like (probably)

The Witcher Show Runner: The focus will be so on the strong powerful female characters. Like, this will be all the fans will talk about. This is going to be the reaction and maybe by season 2 we can get away with reducing Geralt's storylines even more and rename it 'The Sorceress', haha! No one will notice. Tomorrow is the day, Dec 20th, here I come. Can't wait for the reactions! Girlpoooow-
