I am interested in cosplaying a character from Yuri on Ice, the new figure skating Anime. I was wondering what the costume/props policy is, and where I could find it?
Hi! First of all: awesome choice. Second: that’s a good question, you inspired us to make a post to answer it. Hopefully that clears it up for you!

ANIMAINE 2016 Props Policy
Weapons prohibited. An ANIMAINE Security staff member must approve any weapon prop before it can be carried through the convention. A determination can only be made after actually handling and inspecting the object in question. ANIMAINE Security is not able to pre-approve weapons props before the convention. The South Portland Police Department and other law enforcement will take action if they believe any person outside the convention center poses a serious threat. Do not carry prop weapons outside the convention center. The following weapons or weapon-like items are prohibited at ANIMAINE:
Weapons prohibited under Maine Law
Real guns (working, disabled, or otherwise)
Practice swords including bokens and kendo bamboo practice swords
Chains, Leashes, Spikes, Whips (metal or leather leashes, dog collars attached to humans)
Metal blades (knives, swords, sharp wings, etc.)
Projectile weapons (pellet guns, airsoft rifles, pistols, disc guns, paintball markers, etc.), water pistols, or other "weapons" with a working trigger.
Laser pointers, laser-aiming devices, or similar devices, unless you are officially sanctioned to lead or present a convention seminar, workshop, display, or other convention-sanctioned event in which a laser is needed.
Any other potentially harmful weapon/prop as determined by ANIMAINE Security.

For the con in August are you taking fan panel sumbissions? I'm asking for a friend who wants to do a panel for writing fanfic.
Hi there! The show is in just two weeks, so unfortunately the schedule is set. If they’re interested in the November show they should look into workingwithanimaine.tumblr.com though!

Wait a second, onii-chan. We saw that movie when we were kids and we can’t be that old. Are you sure it was -
... oh ;_;
Did you all realize that Space Jam was released in theaters in November of 1996? That makes it (almost) twenty years old. A significant number of our attendees are younger than this movie.
Still a great song, though.

Greg Ayres
Greg Ayres has spent the last eleven years working in an industry he had admired for years as a fan. With over 200 credits to his name, this fan-boy has managed to get to play a variety of characters that are almost as colorful as his hair. He was thrilled to be a part of the Toonami re-launch last summer, in the roles of Ganta Igarashi in Deadman Wonderland, and Heihachi Hayashida in Samurai 7, and even more thrill to follow that up the following summer’s thriller Another as Kouichi Sakakibara. His most recent roles include Satoru Asahina in From the New World, Kenji Nakanishi in Say I Love You,
Sion in No. 6, Heisuke Toudou in Hakuoki, Tommyrod in Toriko, Arikawa in This Boy Can Fight Aliens, Tomoki Sakurai in Heaven’s Lost Property, and Volken, in the Book of Bantorra. Some of his all-time favorite roles include Son Goku in Saiyuki, Chrono in Chrono Crusade, Kaoru Hitachiin in Ouran High School Host Club, Youhei Sunohara in
Clannad, Yuki in The Wallflower, Leo in Ghost Stories, Satoshi Hiwatari in DNAngel, Kaworu Nagisa in the Director’s Cut of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Negi Springfield in Negima. He can also be heard as Uesugi Kenshin in Sengoku Basara, Seikechi Tayama in Oh Edo Rocket, Hiro Hirono in ef: A Tale of Memories, Abe in Big Windup, Jr. in Xenosaga: The Animation, Tsujido in Speed Grapher, Roan in Ragnorok The Animation, Yamazaki in Welcome to the NHK, Gau Ban in Shadow Skill, Pope Alessandro XVIII in Trinity Blood, and a bunch of other titles he’ll probably forget to mention When he’s not in a booth with headphones on, you can usually find him sporting headphones of another variety behind “the decks”. A veteran nightclub DJ of many years, he jumped at the opportunity to play music and organize late night dances at many of the conventions he attends. From packed rooms at anime conventions, to the legendary stage of The Knitting Factory (NYC), he never misses an opportunity to share his love of music with anyone who will listen.
Greg has been part of ANIMAINE since the very beginning, and we’re excited for him to return!
