I do think that the funniest way to imagine the three friends proposing is having them all come together talking about how they are going to propose to Lucy but it's in that farcical way where each of them thinks they're getting advice from the other two through wordplay fueled misunderstandings, until finally Arthur's like all right "raise your hand if you're in this room and you're planning on proposing to Lucy, and then they all raised their hands and gasp at each other comically and then Quincey's like "all right there's only one thing to do. On the count of three we're all gonna hightail it out of here and shoot our shots, may the best cowboy win," and then they all spring up like this to go propose

The silent terror of this entry as Jonathan's attempt to reach out to Mina, and Mr. Hawkins are futile in the hands of the Count. It may be a whole entry, but the constant cuts in between every paragraph makes it feel that Jonathan is waiting for something, anything that would make him unable to write.
It almost feels like Jonathan is waiting for Dracula's wrath to finally descend upon him instead of the abusive mind games. I would even speculate that Jonathan would prefer that (even if it could end up with him dead), instead of being in a state that makes him question his own mind. It's so dire that rhis entry doesn't feel like Jonathan anymore, it's not Jonathan writing about what is happening with his own written cadence, it's Jonathan recording events in paper so he knows that what he lived is real.
When Dracula comes with the two letters, and starts to act, Jonathan doesn't move nor talk for the whole scene. All of the hope for escaping is held in the hands of the man who has been carefully tearing his brain apart for months, Jonathan's last hope is back to the Count... It seems that all of the emotions left him nearly catatonic, unable to do anything else but breathe.
The invansion of privacy as Dracula admited that he opened the letter for Mr. Hawkins, the further isolation as Dracula lied (yes I think he is lying) about how the romani people willingly gave him the letters, the utter rage expressed when Dracula realizes that Jonathan has the actual upper hand on him in a way that doesn't amuse him.
"the other is a vile thing, an outrage upon friendship and hospitality! It is not signed. Well! so it cannot matter to us."
Then, the inmediate switch of demeanor into a gentleman again, telling Jonathan without words that all of this situation is his fault. If he didn't do that, if he didn't "betray" Dracula with those letters, then maybe Jonathan would still have hope in leaving the castle alive.
"The letter to Hawkins—that I shall, of course, send on, since it is yours. Your letters are sacred to me. Your pardon, my friend, that unknowingly I did break the seal. Will you not cover it again?"
The Count is nothing but a good host, a remarkable noble, a symbolic upstanding husband, why would Jonathan try to escape, when his death date has already been decided? How outrageous, how ungrateful. No wonder he "has to" lock Jonathan so he is forced to think about what he has done.

i finished reading your story and i must say that, while it's alright, there's so many plot holes because the characters made irrational decisions and didn't think logically 100% of the time. consider fixing this next time please

Jonathan taking what little comfort he can take amid the horrors is something desperately missing from every adaptation. The slow burn psychological horror of Jonathan's stay at Castle Dracula is probably the most harrowing part of the book, with or without the supernatural elements.
Sleep Jonathan. Do not dream, but rest well.

Stop constantly writing post-Dracula novels about how the Harkers cheat on each other and divorce and Seward turns into Jack the Ripper and everyone but Dracula was the Real Monster Actually and start writing ones where Jonathan reunites with the crucifix lady and the coachman and they dine together with Mina and their little boy.

Dracula: "Worry not my good friend Jonathan. I shall promptly send your letter to your boss (which I read) that tells him to speak to your fiancee! (the coded letter to whom I just burned)"
Rage and hate unending :)))))))))
Doubly so because I have to wonder whether the Hawkins letter was sent at all. The coded letter--WITH MINA'S WHOLE ADDRESS ON IT, NEW NIGHTMARE UNLOCKED--was burned in front of Jonathan as a power play. The Hawkins letter was kept intact and resealed to keep the threadbare 'performance' going. Dracula takes that letter out of the room, locking Jonathan in for his Misbehaving Gothic Damsel Timeout...
...and then (minor spoilers) we never hear of the Hawkins letter again. Not from Hawkins himself or from Mina.
Implying that this letter was also destroyed while Jonathan couldn't see it happen. Just to be safe.
I wonder if Jonathan found more ashes waiting in his room. A neat letter-sized pile with his own wax seal left resting on top. And he just opted not to bother mentioning it. Because what would be the point?
Despair has its own calms...

“Towers In The Sky” Chris Francis This was a creation that took over five attempts to finally create. I really learned about concrete while making this shoe and gained a further respect for what the architects and builders of these gigantic brutalist buildings were up against—even on a tiny scale, concrete is challenging! The shoe is made in three separate pours and is structurally reinforced with steel.Music was a major influence during its creation, I wanted to make a shoe that looked to me like how Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five sound. What I found was that early hip hop was close musically to Brutalist architecture: born from Brutalist housing projects, it’s blunt, coarse, honest, raw, and real. Its undeniable sound structure of heavy bass contrasts with scratching, sharp notes; to me it was layered, audible architecture. The music was simple yet complex, and it really became the sound used to create the whole collection.

Oooh, I know the Wooster+Lucile with Quincey art and posts is light-hearted, but it got me thinking, that in Blood of My Blood she shows Quincey society, how to be like someone their age. And pretty much she does the same to Quincey after his years of torment, encouraging him to see the brave new world, befriend silly rich people, act their age. He's a (scared) wolf among men in both.
<- thought about it way too hard sorry
Ahhh no I love this. Quincey in either timeline desperately needs some levity/fun in his life that isnt touched in the least by the supernatural, and Bertie Wooster and his assorted insane associations are just the ticket
