Laurent was more than confident in his teaching skills as he gave a lecture in front of thirty students, even with an attractive professor watching him. He spoke clearly, never stumbling over his words, and perfectly answered any questions he was asked.

“I’d like to remind you all before you leave,” said Laurent, “that tomorrow there will be a quiz, so I highly recommend spending some time tonight revising your notes. Any other questions?” When no hands were raised, he dismissed everyone.

After the last student left the room, Damen said, “You did great today.” He walked up to the desk Laurent was standing behind. “You clearly have a passion for education and teaching.”

There was not a single thing Laurent could do to stop the flush from appearing on his cheeks. “Thank you.” He tucked his hair behind one ear. “I’ll make copies of the quiz and leave them on your desk.”

During the next few weeks, they worked closely together, and Laurent listened to every bit of advice and feedback Damen gave him.

In the office they shared, they were sitting next to each other at Damen’s desk, developing an assignment, when their first kiss happened. It was hard to remember who made the first move after their hands lightly brushed. The kiss was perfect, sweet, and gentle, leaving them both smiling by the end of it.

After using his arm to push away the papers, Laurent sat atop the desk, his smile widening when Damen stood between his legs. Laurent tangled his fingers through Damen’s hair as they continued to kiss.

Even with the two of them having extremely busy lives, they managed to make their relationship work.

At the end of the last class on Friday, Laurent tidied up the stack of assignments he had collected from his students as he asked, “Are there any questions?” He was wearing a black turtleneck, since Damen had a habit of leaving hickeys.

“Yeah.” A student lifted his hand. “Are you and the professor dating?” Multiple other students gave Laurent a curious look. Damen wasn’t in the room, since Laurent had been tasked with teaching this class all by himself.

Laurent cleared his throat. “Are there any relevant questions?” Silence. “No? Then you’re all free to go.” He waited for everyone to walk out of the room before he also left, carrying the assignments in one hand against his chest. He grabbed his things from the office before getting into his car, then drove to Damen’s house.

They spent the weekend together grading assignments, cooking meals, singing along to bad pop songs, and making love.

On Monday morning, right at the end of the class, Damen entered the room, heading straight over to Laurent while the students gathered their belongings, getting ready to leave.

“Hey.” Laurent smiled at him, then froze when he was kissed. Damen froze, too, having realised what he’d just done.

Around them, their students began to speak. Some were shocked, others didn’t sound surprised at all.

“No way!”

“Are you serious?”

“Finally!”

“Did they just…”

“I knew it!”

“You big, stupid,” Laurent said quietly, feeling like his face was on fire when he flushed, “lovable idiot.”

very short Damen/Laurent/Nikandros ficlet

Established Damen/Nikandros, who are out on a date at a restaurant where they both find themselves admiring their waiter (Laurent). I’d originally meant for this to be part of a longer fic, but it’s been sitting untouched in my drafts for over a year now and I thought I might as well post just this part rather than allow it to keep collecting metaphorical dust. I might one day still write a continuation for this, but I don’t see it happening anytime soon right now.

“Stop staring at our waiter’s ass, Damen.”

Damen quickly tears his eyes away and looks back at Nikandros.

As Nikandros speaks again he makes sure to keep his voice light so Damen knows he doesn’t actually feel offended. “Tonight was going to be about us, right?” he asks. “Although, I suppose I can’t blame you. Blond hair, blue eyes, and a lithe figure. He’s exactly your type.”

“But he’s not you,” Damen counters, “and being you is the most important requirement for who I want to spend our anniversary with.”

Nikandros smiles. He looks to the direction their waiter walked off to, but the man has already disappeared. Honestly, he truly can’t blame Damen. He doesn���t particularly care much for blond hair or blue eyes himself, but he can certainly appreciate a fine looking ass, and their waiter’s qualifies without a doubt. He turns back to Damen. “Do you want to take him home tonight?”

“I—” Damen stops himself. “No, you’re right. We can take someone home any other night, but tonight was going to be about us.” He moves forward and takes Nikandros’s hand in his own. “And I want it to be about us.”

Nikandros smiles again, and he squeezes Damen’s hand back. Sometimes, he still can’t believe that Damen and him are no longer just friends who fool around with each other, but that they’re officially in a relationship now—and have been for a full year exactly as of today. “You are more than I could ever need, Damen,” he says, “and even if we take him home with us, it would still always be about us. So, if you want him, I’d be more than happy to ask him for you if he wants to come with us.”

Damen/Laurent/Nikandros fake dating fic idea

Laurent’s parents have known for a while now that Laurent’s dating someone and Hennike keeps asking him to bring his boyfriend with him to their weekly family dinner, but Laurent keeps making up excuses for why his boyfriend can’t come because he doesn’t want his parents to know that he’s dating Damianos, as Aleron and Theomedes are ceos of rival companies.

After Laurent shows up on his own without a boyfriend yet again, Auguste asks Laurent if he’s certain that he really has a boyfriend and that he isn’t just making him up (Auguste knows very well that Laurent is dating Damen, and he also knows just as well why Laurent doesn’t want their parents to know that). Hennike chastises Auguste and allows Laurent to give yet another excuse for why his boyfriend wasn’t able to come. However, Laurent can see from the concern in his mother’s face that she’s starting to see through his excuses.

Afterwards, Laurent comes over to Damen’s apartment and complains about the situation and about having to come up with a better reason for why his boyfriend can’t come over for dinner or his parents really are going to think he’s making Damen up. Nikandros has to listen to it as well, because he came over to Damen’s to keep him company while Laurent was spending time with his family, and he very helpfully suggests that Laurent could just bring some other guy to his family dinner and pretend he’s his boyfriend.

And he doesn’t know how it happened—he certainly didn’t volunteer—but the next week, Nikandros finds himself introducing himself as Laurent’s boyfriend at the weekly De Vere family dinner. Surprisingly, it goes rather well, meaning that Aleron respects him, Hennike adores him, and Auguste is able to keep a straight face as he plays along with pretending that Nikandros and Laurent are dating. Most importantly, Nikandros manages to not freak out when Laurent kisses him for the sake of verisimilitude. He’s also more into it than he probably should be, but at least the way he looks at Laurent afterwards helps to convince Hennike that Laurent has Nikandros completely wrapped around his little finger, so Nikandros decides he’ll just unpack that later.

Over the next couple of weeks (or months, who knows?), Nikandros keeps pretending to be Laurent’s boyfriend and accompanies him to family dinners, company events, etcetera. Both of them discover they’re a lot more into each other than they expected and that they also wouldn’t really mind if this wasn’t them just pretending. Laurent had expected Damen to get a little jealous, but it turns out that Damen (to his own surprise as well) is actually very into seeing Laurent and Nikandros together, so after a (very sexually charged) discussion between the three of them, Laurent now has two very real/non-pretend boyfriends.

(However, Laurent still has to deal with the fact that he doesn’t know how to break it to his parents that he’s dating Damen, and now that he’s dating Nikandros as well, it’s only become even more complicated.)

(Auguste, meanwhile, just thinks the whole situation is hilarious, but he’s also very happy for Laurent, because in his opinion his baby brother very much deserves to be loved by two boyfriends)

I always forget that, technically, the Captive Prince trilogy is not in English. It’s narrated in Akielon and 90% of it is spoken in Veretian.

Playlist AU

I have this Modern Lamen social media AU idea that has been in my mind for months but I can’t seem to make it so here’s the plot:

- first of all this is a fluff crack au i’m just crazy

- Damen and Laurent are best friends who like each other but ofc they don’t know that

- Laurent decides to confess his feelings to Damen through sending songs and making a sentence out of the titles 

- laurent starts this out of the blue which confuses damen

- at first damen thinks nothing of it, just laurent sending recommendations, and laurent sends like one song a day

- by the fifth day and the first sad song, damen starts to wonder why exactly laurent is doing this

- HERE’S THE FUNNY PART: a lot of those songs are sad songs, but the message doesn’t matter since the title was all laurent needed

- when damen realizes a lot of the songs laurent is sending him are break-up songs, he starts freaking out because his best friend that he has liked for years is sending him SAD BREAK-UP SONGS!!! which causes the misunderstandings. he thinks laurent hates him now and doesnt want to be his friend anymore nor will laurent ever like him

- then there’s this song laurent sends called Maybe Maybe by Lola Amour and the lyrics are sad 

- (damen interprets the lyrics because he thinks they mean something and laurent won’t tell him why he keeps sending songs)

- so the lyrics are basically going to make damen think that laurent is in love with another person..

Cause I don’t see the point in telling her I love her When I know it goes one ear and out the other She don’t feel it the same way Well maybe, maybe as a friend But even then I know I’m all alone Got no one in the end 

- damen TRIES to be supportive and tells laurent he will be happy for him no matter what and he would be so happy to meet who laurent liked 

- laurent gets exhasperated with damen and just sends him the whole playlist and damen tries to decipher the message by looking at the lyrics and the fact that 85% of the songs on that playlist are sad songs

- there is a song on the playlist called Alive by Over October

I wish you’ve stayed I wish we didn’t fade I hope you’re alright I hope I survive But I’m still alive

- and now damen thinks that laurent is trying to tell him that they’re fading and maybe he doesn’t want to be friends anymore

- so he shows it to nikandros because he’s devastated, his best friend of many years that he is in love with doesn’t feel the same way and is ending their friendship too

- however, nikandros gets laurent’s message immediately because he knows these two dummys are head over heels for each other, he just likes seeing them TRY to hide that they aren’t in love 

- nikandros sends damen a song that’s like “You’re so CLUELESS” (i do not know any song like that i am sorry why do you think this au remains an outline)

- damen FINALLY FINALLY GETS IT AND SENDS LAURENT A SONG back which is like a song that has a title that says “I like you” but the lyrics are also sad and now laurent gets confused

- laurent asks damen “what does it mean, do you not want to be my friend anymore”

- damen says “now you know how it feels”

- laurent gets confused again but damen then sends him a spotify playlist too where if you read the titles it goes: “I like you, I really like you, I’ve always liked you (like ten more songs that are all just saying I like you)” then in the end it goes “Do you want to go out with me?”

- and laurent sends a song back that goes: “Why not?”

- and then they get married okay bye!

Laurent knew the power of his words; he used them carefully - or not, depending on the reaction he was aiming to, but Damen - most of the time, Damen simply spoke, without putting much thinking into it. Animal, Laurent called him sometimes.

« Damen is really sorry. He’s whining like a baby, which is annoying. Are you willing to forget him or do you still want to, and I quote, cut his dick and let him bleed to death? » Laurent asked after coming back from their room.

Auguste’s face felt too hot suddenly, and he knew for a fact that his skin had turned red, but he nodded. He wanted to get this behind him already.

« Good, I’ll go tell him.» Laurent said. Then, before leaving the room, « Maybe it would be better if I didn’t let you borrow Damen’s clothes in the future. It does tend to make Damen rather ... Handsy. Also, don’t bend over again. Just to be sure. »

Perhaps after killing Damen, Auguste should go after his brother.
