I understand Mahiru's feelings and that she got hooked perfectly by a masterful manipulator. But you have to realize that her dumping JELEE to work on something else kills the project. They have all the momentum in the world right now and giving up on that to work on a different idol group is horrible for their long term prospects, even discounting the specific idol group she's working for.
Seeing people be viscerally angry at Mahiru for her choices this episode is so funny to me.
Like, I understand the reaction. I also understand they probably don't struggle with self-worth and don't quite understand why "a bit of criticism" as Kano's mom used is better than the unrelenting positivity of Kano when asking for opinions.
Anyways both parties are 'neither right nor wrong'.
