I can't believe I wasn't aware of BakuDeku winning a Tokyo Tower contest??? 😀 Like, that place was just lit up with green and orange lights because BakuDeku won as the most popular??? Wtf, how did I miss that??? 🐦

I still can't believe how...fanfiction-like have all these past chapters been when it comes to the bakudeku relationship, platonic or not. So, I decided to make a list about my favourite things that have been happening. They're not in order, but enjoy my ramble!

-Katsuki gave his life and moved for Deku without thinking in a death threatening situation, thus completing the parallel that's been on stand since chapter number one.

-When Katsuki saw Izuku possibly going to die, he felt like he was dying himself.

-When Katsuki saw Izuku possibly going to die, he literally unlocked a new part of his quirk because of the pure sense of urgency, care and fear he felt for the other, just like Izuku unlocked his other couple of quirks indirectly, thanks to his feelings in Katsuki's defense.

-We had a "my life is flashing before my eyes" moment from Katsuki's behalf, and they were all scenes that included Deku or him looking at Deku, or him thinking about Deku.

-Katsuki had a flashback about the things he could never get to say to Deku, about the things he wants to. A flashback where he explains his feelings out in the open to All Might. When All Might says that he cares about Deku, he doesn't deny it.

-They both asked about each other first before anyone else, like they were the first priority and had to remind themselves that the rest also existed.

-AFO started trashtalking about Katsuki in particular because he somehow knew that he was Izuku's weak point. He could've trashtalked about All Might instead, for example, one of the most important people for him. Instead, he gave trash about Katsuki, and that was with them barely having interacted in presence of AFO. AFO uses his big mouth to make people doubt, to manipulate them using what they care about. And he used Katsuki. It worked.

-After AFO talked bad about Katsuki's efforts, Izuku, who was pretty beaten at the time, went completely nuts. Until now, he'd been fighting for everyone, but in that moment Izuku took it personal. He was fighting for Katsuki and his value, which made him able to tear apart AFO's attack system that could tear through human tissue and ground with his teeth.

-Izuku also yelled at him to take back what he said about Katsuki and in the process he unlocked his new quirk, the 4th users quirk.

-Katsuki's way of speaking become much more gentle when he started saving everyone after being pierced. This is only really noticeable in japanese, but the way he was speaking mimicked Dekus speech, just like Izuku mimickes Katsuki's at important times.

-They fact that at some point, Katsuki, who doesn't like to rely on anyone, started dragging his teacher so he could save Deku from AFO, shigaraki, and himself.

-Those Katsuki's looks of fear and worry when he first saw Deku in the heat of battle giving himself away for the sake of others. Also, the flashback of "I'm the Deku that does his best!"

-When Katsuki saw Izuku about to leave on his own towards imminent danger to avoid puting the public in danger, he followed him immediately, saying that hero's have to protect everyone. He followed Izuku to be able to protect him, because he knew something was going to happen. And he did, by giving his life.

-When Katsuki first woke up in the hospital, he asked about Deku first of all. He also asked about Todoroki and the others though, which honestly, respect. He gave no cares about his own personal being and straight up asked about the rest. If that's doesn't give you the clue that he's a character that cares, uuuuhhhhh.

-When he learned that Izuku hadn't woken up, he got up, side hurting at all, ignored his injuries, and strived out of his room, basically running to see Izuku.

The thing is, if Izuku was just...not waking up yet, there was no reason to check on him yet. Katsuki just went to check on Izuku because he felt the need to see that he was alive, that he was alright. Katsuki just...wanted to see Izuku. Period. There was no other reason.

-Sato, one of the strongest in class 1A, had to push back to keep Katsuki from moving forwards, and not even then he was stopping Katduki from stopping himself either.

-"If he dies I'll kill him"

That's...that's just fanfic content, I don't know what to tell you. I'm.

Because you were given high expectations since you were 4 and with those high expectations came the stress of being seen as anything less than perfect

And by having Izuku reach out with kindness and seeing you as an equal- that both flustered and frustrated you.

Not only that, nature vs nurture came into play- your mother is the exact same way.

The good thing is that you’ve finally realized that you’re human, and that you’ve decided to atone.

Qi Hun (Hikaru no Go) final episodes

I finished Hikaru no go Chinese adaptation (Qi Hun) and need time to process my happiness.

There are some minor flaws in the second half, but they DON’T disturb the overall work done. As an old fan (13 years in fandom) I approve this amazing remake and recommend it to all. It has its own value as an independent project. Dorama viewers, who want to check out the manga / anime, will enjoy both works differently and get the best from both worlds.

All characters are three-dimentional, and the show is so easy to binge-watch. My favourite parts about the changes in the final are the following [SPOILERS AHEAD]

Dorama has stronger parallels between Sai, Hikaru and Akira (Yi Liang):

Like Sai, Hikaru gives his most precious item (a watch) as a present to Akira, and it becomes a connecting thread

Hikaru abandons Akira without explanation (same in manga)

When they reconcile, Akira repeatedly glances at Hikaru out of joy and for reassurancein - the same way Hikaru always glanced at Sai.

Likewise, Hikaru often glances at Akira pensively, like Sai, and generally keeps thoughts to himself

Hikaru not only carries the fan for important matches, but uses it constantly

Seems like the show has two endings:

1 - when Sai (Chu Ying) disappears (episode 32)

2 - when Hikaru (Shi Guang) starts his professional career (episode 36)

Which is very reasonable. In the manga, Hikaru states that his dream is “to connect the past and the future”. Basically, Sai is “the past” of go, Akira is “the present”, and Hikaru is “the future”. Therefore Akira is supposed to become his new companion / guardian. He has been in the Go world all his life and must teach him about the ins and outs.

But this transition never happened. They didn’t “have time” to become close friends and failed as a team at the Hokuto Cup. I strongly, sadly feel that this happened due to editorial restrictions / censorship. Their trope was put on hold and made the manga look unfinished for decades to come.

That’s why the final episodes of dorama focus on their bonding so much. Transition happens. After many years apart they deserved a time together, and a chance to heal their relationship and become a team! They are REWARDED for their struggle to become twin stars, and they finalise the friendship/rivalry trope, unfinished in the manga. The author didn’t seem to object to these changes, and rightfully so :)

P. S. It’s amazing how the Japanese can’t show two guys being intimate and happy together, although it is allowed by the law, and Chinese showrunners make it happen despite crazy restrictions by the law LOL LOL LOL
