you cant ever let yourself forget what it felt like to be 15. how adults treated you. being treated without a shred of respect because people think youre too young to have thoughts and feelings of your own. the lack of autonomy. you cant ever forget that because if you do you might become the kind of adult who treats kids like theyre not people

#i currently work in elementary age childcare and have for four years #(but i have an interview for an office job on monday which i am VERY hopeful about !!) #but also i have two baby siblings who are currently 5 and 9 and i love them more than literally anything #but basically yes i am good with kids not only bc i adore them but also bc i am literally trained to be lmao

sometimes i wonder if my favorite memories are someone else's worst. the weight of perception can easily warp reality as a whole. i hope there were days where my family and i felt happy at the same time. i hope there are memories we all wish we could relive together.

whenever i'm trying to talk myself out of buying something i don't need i always hear my old russian professor's voice echoing in my head: "WHAT??? WILL YOU DIE THE RICHEST MAN IN THE GRAVEYARD?" and then i make an unwise financial decision

i'll never understand how people can shit on things like horoscopes or posts that are like "your message from the universe" or whatever. like, yeah, they're usually generalized and vague and maybe you believe in it ormaybe you don't but i find it beautiful how there are these little blurbs that are able to apply to so many people. a string of words that entirely different people in entirely different phases of their lives can read and find themselves in. you don't have to believe in magic to let the human experience be magical sometimes.
