so long, londonᯓ★ln4
-
inspired by so, long london by taylor swift.
Tumblr media
You both sat in silence, the living room dark just lit by fairy lights that were stuck to the wall by cheap cello tape. You knew your relationship was hanging from a thread. You two hadn't even gone on a date since months. You both knew that your relationship had come to an end months ago, you had grown apart. You knew Lando was done, done with the commitment. Your back hurt from carrying the pieces of your once blossoming relationship on your back. You missed pulling him into your embrace. While the stars lit the night sky, you two quietly swaying to a non-existent beat. It was none of yours fault, the only problem was that you both stopped trying, at least he did. You got tired of trying to make him laugh when he was down, you got sick and tired of waiting for him dressed in silk dresses, hair done, wearing the earrings he bought you for your birthday. Only for him to not even look at you and go to your shared bedroom. His back turned to you while you craved for warmth, warmth that only he could provide. You would pull him in tighter whenever he went for races. Your arms wrapped around him while he tried not not to touch you. Your heart would break whenever he rejected your hugs. He was drifting away. He left you alone at home. You would sit on your shared bed, your head cradled in your hands, crying softly. Your spine had split from carrying your relationship up the hill.
You both had another argument, about him never being there about him not trying anymore. You stood in the shower, hot water burning your skin but you couldn't care. Your head rested against the marble wall, mascara running down your face, your white silk dress stuck to your body like skin. You shivered, your bones caught the chill. You stopped, you stopped trying to make him happy, you stopped trying to fix the broken pieces of your relationship because he never tried.
You didn't know much sad he thought you had in you. You used to look at him with love and happiness in your eyes but now when you looked at him all that was there was sadness. This relationship was a tragedy. A tragedy you still wanted to work through.
You hadn't opted to be his punching bag, the one he would scream at when he was stressed, the one he would look at with hate. You found his phone once, text messages from some Portuguese model asking him to meet up. You looked her up found out she was a huge fan of the clothes you would spend hours designing, clothes you designed when you were waiting for Lando to come home. Isn't it funny the girl he was cheating on you with was a huge fan of your clothing brand. It was as if your relationship was a dying person, a person who was so far gone that even CPR couldn't bring your relationship back to life. The relationship wasn't even worth trying. Your relationship would never be the same again.
He took your youth away, he took memorable years of your life away from you, with broken promises, he manipulated you into staying in this dying relationship while he was out and about with a fake blonde.
The wounds he gave you, the wounds you tried to stitch back up by doing things you loved. They all had come undone and now you were lying on the floor, your heart hurting from all the pain you had experienced. You knew you would find someone who would love you like the way Lando used to, soon. At least you hoped.
You were done with him, you had your suitcases in hand. You walked out of your shared bedroom and saw Lando sitting on the couch, on his phone. Smiling. His smile faded away as soon as he laid his eyes on you. His usually cold eyes softened when he saw your eyes puffy, swollen, "Baby where are you going"
"I am leaving Lando, I can't do this anymore"
"You can't abandon me like this". He spoke, his harsh tone back.
"I never abandoned you, I went down with this stupid relationship, that I tried so hard to fix". You scoffed
"Don't do this".
You didn't look at him, you knew once you looked at him, you wouldn't leave. You would stay back with him and let yourself fall into oblivion again. You knew the resentment he now had for you but you couldn't care anymore. This relationship took your breath away, it felt rare for you to even be able to breathe.
You didn't think he'd move on so quickly, it had been a month since you both broke up and he was already going around with that blonde. You didn't have any sad left in you, your eyes couldn't even cry you a river anymore. You used up all your tears. You had no sad left in you.
Old photos of you and Lando surfaced on the internet. Your eyes were filled with tears, you finally had tears to cry. So you broke down. You bought your legs closer to your chest, gripping at your heart. He swore that he loved you but where were the clues. You died at the altar waiting for the proof.
𐙚
It had been years, since you and Lando had last seen each other. You never thought you would find someone who would love you. You almost lost hope but you were right to leave him and have a fresh start. All your hard work all the effort you put into your relationship paid off. You walked down the aisle, spotting your soon to be husband Carlos on the altar. You weren't standing on the altar alone, there was proof that the man you were now madly in love with was in love with you and that he would always love you. You never thought you'd be okay again but time and perseverance really does stitch your wounds back up. Even the wounds that once hurt us the most.

Coming back to a place you once thought of as your home is never easy, what’s even difficult is saying goodbyes to the things you once cherished. It’s been years since your grandfather died and you know it’s time to sell the one thing you had been dreading to sell in order to set yourself free.

chapter five
Tumblr media
You stood in a flower shop, surrounded by colourful flowers. Butterflies hopping from one flower to another for food. The scenery in front of you reminded you of that one trip to a garden in Monaco. You took each flower in your hand, smelling each one. The scent of the flowers was intoxicating. You had a small tin bucket in your hand, taking an orange tulip from a bunch and kept it in your bucket. Your bucket was filled with flowers that were in the colours, white, pink, lilac and orange by the time you reached the counter. You handed the silver can to the florist and watched in awe as she wrapped the flowers into brown wrapping paper, the flowers being wrapped into a beautiful and colourful bouquet. You hoped these flowers would last until they reached Lando in Australia. Walking out of the little shop, bouquet in hand, scrolling on social media, you came across a video of Lando with a blonde girl, it looked like a chicken shop date. You were familiar with the show, having friends and exes who had been on there before. You clicked on a video, and felt your stomach churn he looked so happy talking to that gorgeous and kind blonde. Insecurity bubbling in your chest once again. You switched your phone off and sighed, heading to a post shop, to send your flowers. You wished these flowers would be a big enough gesture to win Lando back but maybe nothing could fix what you did, no matter how hard you tried.
𐙚
You were sitting in your bed, rotting and watching the Australian Grand Prix, Max was out on DNF. The stakes were high. With Max being out the race was more competitive than ever.
You squealed when you saw that Lando finished on P3. You were beaming with pride and happiness as you clapped your hands together, your day had instantly gotten better, when you saw that smile on his face, though you missed the beard, his new look made him look even more handsome. Your smile widened even more when your phone screen lit up.
Thank you for the flowers they were just what I needed
I am glad you liked them, I am so proud of you
This maybe crossing the boundary, but I miss you
It's not, I miss you too
You knew, now was the right time to see Lando. You immediately booked the earliest flight to Monaco, ready to see Lando. It was time to take things further.
Bags in hand, you roamed around in the JFK airport, palms sweaty as you looked around, scared and nervous. You were ready for this, you knew it. It would be nice to see him, and relive a couple memories in your old house.
𐙚
The familiar breeze hit you as soon as you stepped out of the airport, the same sweet smell of the coast. Children giggling, stars illuminating the night sky. Expensive cars everywhere, girls and boys arms decked with shopping bags. Getting in your taxi, you rolled down the windows, letting the familiar air provide you solace. You didn't realise when you reached the house. You raised your hand to knock on the door but immediately retracted it. Turning around, your legs shaking. you were nervous and rightfully so. You took deep breaths, steadying yourself. You turned around towards, the large and posh door and finally knocked, you were greeted with a sleepy Lando, just like you were that one night.
"Y/N, what are you doing here".
You tucked a couple strands of your hair behind your ears, "I-I think I am in love with you" You spoke, your voice dropping a couple octaves as you see his eyes widen. You hoped his eyes widened in delight and not horror, "Say something, please'.
That's it, that's when he kissed you, the kiss wasn't like the kiss you both shared last time. This kiss was earth shattering, a kiss that took you to a world where no one was there except you both. You both released your pent up frustrations and emotions into the kiss. Both of your hands all over each other. Grasping at one another, as if one of you would disappear any second, and this would all just be a dream. His arms wrapped around your waist tightly, you wrapped your arms around his neck as your kiss got heated. You both stumbled back as he tried to close the main door. He lifted you in his arms, the scene looked life it was straight from a movie. Butterflies in both of your stomachs. He gently placed you on his king sized bed, hovering over you as he caressed your cheek. His eyes filled with love, nobody had ever looked at you the same way that this man in front of you was. Your hair was splayed in all directions, your lips swollen because of the force and pressure of your kiss, "You look so beautiful, in front of me like this".
"Lando". You whispered slowly, grabbing his necklace and pulling him into another kiss, wrapping your legs around his waist as your manicured fingers caressed his back.
"Tonight's all about you", He held you gently in his arms as he undid the buttons of your shirt and threw it across the room, groaning at the sight of your white lace bra. You looked like a fallen angel, like his guardian angel sent from heaven just for him and only him. You looked at him dreamily as he undid your jeans, removing your navy blue sambas as he climbed back up, leaving feather light kisses from your navel to the shell of your ear. His lips grazed the shell of your ear, "I missed you so much, I can't wait to show you how much".
You looked at him, boldly, "Then show me how much". You palmed his hard on through his sweatpants and gasped as he grabbed your hand and pinned it to the bed, "Not so fast princess". The nickname send waves of excitement through your body.
You threw your head back as you felt him grab your clothed breasts, rubbing your nipple in his pointer finger and thumb. He dragged the straps of your bra off of your shoulder. Your bare breasts being revealed to him., "Fuck". He was awestruck looking at the woman underneath him, panting, hair a mess.
He lowered himself down to your core as he rubbed his fingers over your clothed wetness, dragging your underwear down your legs with his teeth. He kissed your clit softly, he shoved his tongue inside, gathering your slick, your hands made their way to his curly locks, the action making him groan. That sound sent vibrations through your core. He shoved his fingers inside one by one, your moans increasing with each move of his finger. The pleasure being too overwhelming for you. You tasted just the way he had imagined, sweet and powerful.
He removed his sweatpants, as he looked at you as if looking for a sign, wanting to know if you were comfortable. You nodded. He grabbed his aching cock and shoved it inside your cunt, trying not to hurt you. Your nails grazed his back, as you moaned loudly, drawing lines on his back. You wrapped your legs around his waist again, the new angle taking you to heights you never knew possible. You pulled him into another wild kiss. Your touches were electrifying, bringing you both to an edge, you moaned and collapsed your head into his shoulder and pulled at his back. Everything pulsed, overwhelming both of your senses as you both reached your peak. He climbed off of you.
You both panting, trying to catch your breaths. He turned towards you and intertwined both of your hands together. His hand slowly crept on your back pulling you closer to him, You wrapped your arms around him. His warmth and scent providing you the assurance you needed, he kissed the crown of your head, as he rubbed your back, "Never leave me ever again".
"Promise" You spoke linking both of your pinkies together. You gave him a small peck on his cheek.
𐙚
You stood in the balcony, admiring the serene view. Your body clad in one of Lando's black hoodies. As you rested your shoulders on the black vintage railing. It was early in the morning, the sun hadn't come out yet but it was going to soon you knew it. You flinched when you felt strong arms wrap around your waist, "Good Morning". He spoke, pecking your neck,"You know, I almost thought I would be waking up alone again".
You turned around in his grasp, and caressed his neck, "I never did properly apologise for what I did".
His hold around you tightened, "You don't have to". You shook your head, "No it's not, I was just scared about how I felt about you, the truth is I fell for you the moment I saw you".
He took in a sharp breath as he caressed your cheek, he grabbed you by the chin and pulled you into a kiss, "Let's go on a date tonight a proper one".
You smiled, "I would love that". You whispered pecking his lips, before dragging him inside, "Let's get ready".
𐙚
You roamed around in the streets of Monaco, shopping bags in hand and hopped from one store to another, in search of the perfect dress for tonight. It had to be perfect, classy just like you. You stepped in one of the stores. Rubbing your hands over the fabric of each and every dress. By the time you reached the dressing rooms, your hands were filled with dresses. Flowy, body con, you name it. You tried on each dress, admiring your reflection in the mirror. You came across this one red dress, it was tight at the right places, it accentuated your features in the best way possible. You smiled in satisfaction and bought the dress checking out of the store. You couldn't wait to see the look on Lando's face tonight.
𐙚
You sat on a chair in front of a mirror, doing your makeup. Lando was waiting downstairs waiting for you to get ready. You tucked your hair into a bun, you pulled some strands of your hair from the bun, to sharpen your features more. You put your hand on the railing as you walked down the stairs. The clicking sound of your heels, made him turn around, he smiled at you before his jaw went slack, his mouth opened widely. He walked towards you and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer, "You look stunning".
"You don't look bad yourself" You giggled
You both sat in his Mclaren, his hand resting on your thigh. You had shared so many memories in this car, all good ones and now here you are making way for new ones. The restaurant was located at a secluded spot on the streets. You and Lando sat in front of each other. You moaned in delight, as you tasted the Alfredo sitting in front of you, "And I thought you made noises like that with me and me only".
You blushed, swallowing the pasta quickly. He smiled and grabbed your hand from across the table, he caressed your hand, placing a soft kiss on your knuckles, "I want to go to the beach with you" You spoke taking another bite of your pasta, "And I want a bite of your food". You laughed poking your fork in his plate and twirling the pasta around your fork.
You both sat in silence on the sandy shore, your head resting on his shoulder, "I've been meaning to ask you something". Your smile turned into a frown as you looked at him. A nervous pit forming in your chest.
"Move in with me, move to Monaco with me".
"What'. You gasped not believing what he just said
"I love you and I am sure of it, I want spend every moment of my life with you, let's start by you moving in with me".
𐙚
Five years in the making, if someone told you five years ago that you would be married to Lando Norris. You would laugh at their face but now you were expecting your first child with the love of your life. It all started with a matter as trivial as buying a house, then a search to find your hobby, your favourite thing, heartbreak and finally happily ever after. You were happy, happier than you had ever been. You were too dense to notice that your favourite thing had always been there in front of you. Lando Norris was the one person you cherished more than anything. He was your favourite thing.

chapter four
Tumblr media
𐙚
You hadn't seen him in a month. You felt bad, guilty. He gave you the utmost comfort and respect you desired and you just left him, moments after you showed him that you were all his. You lost all the passion you had for modelling, you had no motivation knowing you left him like this, alone and crippled. It didn't help that he wanted to make things right with you but you ignored every text, every attempt to reconcile with him. You knew you would never see him again. He must have gotten the hint. It had been a week since the texts stopped, it had been 2 weeks since you told him to stop contacting you and forget about you. You didn't think he would go through with it but he did. That pit of loneliness was back inside your stomach, without Lando, there was no happiness and with him there was no sadness.
You had just come back from work. You were lying down in the comfort of your bed, Gossip Girl playing in the background. You didn't want to watch your favourite show or eat your meals. You needed to know if he was okay. You took a couple deep breaths and opened Instagram, searching his profile. You clicked on it, wanting some update on his life. You smiled as you saw his profile hadn't changed a bit. It sill had pictures of him smiling and goofing around with his fellow drivers. He was no longer in Monaco for now at least. You clicked on a post of his. It was him posing and goofing around in front of a beautiful heart background. Your heart did a backflip as you saw his smile. The same smile that was once for you and only you. Scrolling down you saw a fogged up window with a smiley face drawn on it. You recognised the windows from your old house. You were pleasantly surprised that he didn't sell the house after your sudden departure. You were happy to know that a part of him still wanted to hold onto you, and the memories you both shared. Even if they were short lived that was the best month of your life, touring around Monaco, in his car and on cheap vespas, walks to the beach, gelato for every meal but you knew that that smiley face was ironic to how he was really feeling. "Shit" you groaned as you accidentally liked a post of his. This was a sign that it was time to close Instagram for the day or maybe for a while. He'll probably ignore the notification after all he must have so many people stalking his Instagram. He probably won't notice the notification, you thought to yourself. You switched off your phone and kept it on your nightstand, deciding to focus on the show and not on the mistake you just made. You got under the covers and cuddled the bunny plush on your bed, paying attention to the show. Before sleeping you checked your phone again, you stared at your phone. There was no notification from Instagram, no text message from his number which was long forgotten and was neatly hidden away in your contacts. Maybe he doesn't care about you anymore, you probably don't mean anything to him anymore for all you know he might have a girlfriend now. A lot can change in a month. You slipped back in the comfort of your bed. Switching the small source of light on your nightstand off and tried to sleep but you couldn't. You couldn't sleep just like that one night, except you weren't in a hotel room, you weren't in Monaco and Lando wasn't in the same country as you. You stepped out of your bed, wore a coat and left your penthouse. You walked in the streets of Soho, wanting some company but who could you call, your brother was in the Upper East Side, pissed at you, your best friend was all the way down in Brooklyn and Lando was in Monaco, busy racing and hating on you. So you just chose to be alone, walk around alone with no one around. You found yourself sitting in an old bar alone, phone gripped tightly in your hand as you drank cheap beer, crying letting all your feelings out. You didn't know why you were missing Lando suddenly, you hated feeling like this helpless, alone, unworthy, unlovable. You sniffled and opened your messages, you scrolled down, where your conversation with Lando was long forgotten, you clicked on his name and scrolled to the top, the text messages taking you back to the moment Lando was coming to see the house for the first time. You smiled reading all those text messages you two exchanged but soon your smile faded and that painful feeling in your chest was back again.
Why did you leave? come back here.
Forget about me Lando, it was a huge mistake.
So, what your trying to say is that everything that happened between us was a mistake?
I never should've have gone to the house that night.
Forget about that, I miss you just come back.
I can't it's best you forget about me.
I can't.
Don't contact me ever again Lando, it's over.
These text messages were a contrast to the playful conversations you two always shared and it wasn't a pretty contrast, it was an ugly contrast. These messages crippled your insides, and made your eyes glossy, and your heart filled with guilt. He was willing to give you a chance to fix everything, heck, he was ready to fix everything on his own. Who would turn down a guy like him. You grabbed a couple beer bottles, gave cash to the bartender serving you and left, chugging beers as you walked back home in an invisible blanket of guilt and heartbreak covering you. You were drunk out of your mind by the time you reached home. Your phone read 3:00 AM.
You got under the covers for the third time that day, still wearing your shoes, holding your phone tightly and close to your chest as you cried yourself to sleep.
You woke up the next morning with a headache, groaning you got up and washed your face and started getting ready for the day. You stood in the balcony of your beautiful Soho apartment, drinking coconut water, trying to get rid of the hangover you had. Your schedule was packed, back to back shoots.
You stood in a mini white dress, beautiful waves cascading down your shoulders, as you posed, giving the camera the most fake smile ever. You had become exceptionally talented at building walls and creating facades, that's how you survived in this industry by faking everything. You got off work late that night, sitting in your baby pink Porsche, you stared at your phone in shock, a notification showing that Lando had liked one of your recent posts. You held your phone close to your chest and sighed in relief. Maybe he didn't hate you as much as you thought he did, he still cared, this like was enough for you to know that he still wanted you as much as you wanted him, maybe things weren't over between you both after all.
𐙚
Meanwhile Lando, had just come to his hotel room after a long jog, and opened Instagram after what felt like ages, he smiled when he saw a notification that said you had liked one of his posts. He got the clarification he needed, you still cared about him, even after that night that ruined everything for the both of you. Your Instagram was something he visited on a daily basis, to check on you, to make sure you were okay. He would stare at pictures of you in awe, he would feel a sense of adoration when you would post about your work, and his heart would melt when you would post your niece. Fate would bring you two back together, he could feel it deep in his bones. Only he knew how he felt when woke up in his bed alone, without you in his arms. You left without an explanation, no note, no text message, nothing, you disappeared as if you were never there in the first place, as if you were just a figment of his imagination, that he had just imagined this beautiful and lost girl, who had come to sell her childhood home. He fell in love with you in such a short period of time, he showed his vulnerable side to you, a side he showed to no one and you just left him, after you made false promises of never letting him go but he couldn't hate you, he never could, he was drawn to you when he first saw you crying and he was still drawn to you after two months of that incident. He thought he would be the one to wave the white flag first but no it was you, it was you who waved it first.
"Still thinking about her mate"
Lando looked up from his phone and saw his best friend Max, "I shouldn't have given you the spare key to my room, now all you do is scare and torment me".
Max laughed, "That's what friends are for". He took a seat next to Lando on the bed, "But seriously forget about her, it's pathetic that you still pine over her".
"It's not pathetic" Lando muttered under his breath
"The moment you two get together, I'll change my opinion, but for now it's pathetic".
"Great friend, you are Max" Lando laughed
Max snatched Lando's phone from his hand, "Stop stalking her and stop being delusional"
Lando snatched the phone back and shot Max a death glare, "I am not being delusional, she liked one of my posts, she was stalking me too".
"Follow her then, if you want to stalk her, do it like a normal person".
Lando nodded in agreement, and clicked the blue follow button on your profile, which now turned grey and read following, "It shouldn't be weird now?"
𐙚
You sat in a coffee shop down town with your best friend, sipping on overpriced lattes as you discussed about the latest gossip in your lives, "I still can't believe you liked a post of his"
You took a bite of the decadent cheesecake in front of you, "He liked one of my posts back Lilly"
Your best friend scoffed, "Yeah sure, after what you did to the guy, I doubt it".
You took out your phone and squealed in excitement as you noticed that he had followed you, you smirked and shoved your phone in her face, her eyes widened as she squealed, snatching the phone from you, she followed him back from your side, "Holy shit, he's whipped".
You stared at your phone, "You sure?"
"Heck yeah"
You played with your hair, putting your sunglasses back on as you noticed the paparazzi around the corner, "What do you think I should do?"
"I think it's time for you both to start talking again".
"I don't think he'll text me, it's still a bit too soon for that". You wanted to make amends, you were ready to, you were ready to fix everything on your own but you weren't so sure about Lando, at the end of the day it was him who got hurt the most.
"Then you text him, you want to fix things right?"
"A text won't fix anything, I need a grand gesture".
"Go to the Australian Grand Prix then," Your friend suggested.
"I can't, I am too busy that day, you know what, I'll send him flowers before the race, maybe that will show him how much I appreciate him".
Lilly gave you an approving smile, "I love that".
You were ready to fix things between you and Lando, you thought your story had ended but it was just beginning.

chapter three
Tumblr media
𐙚
It had been a month since your and Lando's, rendezvous started. You had to admit it they were pretty fun. The beaches, the little walks, the book stores you two visited. You were sitting in your hotel room curled up in a corner, engrossed in a thrilling romance novel, you picked up from the bookstore earlier that week. Your mission was complete, Lando had moved in into your childhood home and you well you were going to go back to New York in three days. You were sad to leave but felt free and alive at the same time. You had moved out of the estate and Lando had moved in. It felt like it was just yesterday, you came back to Monaco, had that crazy party and became friends with Lando. Until a week ago, you were still living in the comfort of your home and now you were living in a hotel like a complete outsider. Your vacation was coming to an end and you were going to make the most of the three days you had left. You grabbed your hotel keys and left the room, walking in the crowded streets, enjoying your company. You loved having Lando around but you missed spending time with yourself, you had lost touch with yourself and you knew that you would rediscover yourself as soon as you went back to New York. Soon, this trip would be a distant memory, Lando would be a distant memory. You didn't want to admit but these past few weeks have been magical, you cared about him, you thought of him as a really good friend maybe even more. Taking out your phone, you shot him a quick text asking him if he was free. You put it back in your pocket, feeling the Monaco breeze for probably the last time. Looking at little children giggling and jumping reminded you of the fact that you were once a little girl who loved this place. Your phone rang, it was probably a message from Lando, you thought to yourself.
For you always
You laughed at his text message.
You both were walking hand in hand in complete silence, you both couldn't believe it this past month was like bliss for the both of you but you knew you had to go back to your life, to work, to your little dog. You had been away from your actual home for way too long now.
"So, your leaving"
You played with your hair nervously, trying your best to avoid eye contact with Lando, "I guess so'.
He pursed his lips tightly, looking in a different direction, "Thanks for the memories". You hated seeing him like this, you were sad too but you didn't want to spend the days you had left here being depressed.
You suddenly felt determined, you crossed your arms in anticipation and stared him dead in the eye, "Don't be that way, let's make the most of the time I have left here, I don't want to be sad".
"Your right, it's just I'll miss you as much as I hate to admit it".
You started feeling a little uncomfortable, "How's the house". You asked hoping to change the course of the conversation.
"I love it, I still don't get why your living in a hotel though. It's your house too".
"It was my house, it's all yours now". You scoffed.
Lando's grip on your hand intensified as he dragged you somewhere. You were surprised to see the change in his attitude.

You were now standing in a lush green garden, surrounded by flowers. You were in awe the place was ethereal it almost made you feel as if you were living in a fairytale. It was even more peaceful than the mainland. People were hardly there. You two were sitting alone on a park bench surrounded by the smell of colourful flowers and butterflies. You giggled as a butterfly came and sat on your floral patterned dress, staring at it's pretty and vibrant blue colour. A smile made it's way to your face when you saw Lando's disgusted expression towards the harmless insect. He swatted the butterfly away, screaming , "Get that wretched creature away from me".
"Don't tell me your scared of this little cutie". You gestured towards the butterfly that had long forgotten your sundress and was now sitting on top of a pure white rose.
"Cute, it's hardly cute".
You raised your eyebrow, smirking slowly, "Your cuter though". You flirted enjoying the way his cheeks turned red at his remark.
"Shut up". He spoke as he covered his red face with his hands.
You looked up at the sky. The once bright blue sky turning dark and gloomy. It was going to rain. A couple droplets of water fell on your face. The cooling sensation making you feel relaxed. "Let's go". Lando purchased a clear umbrella from a nearby shop.
𐙚
Lando was gone, you were in your hotel room, sitting in your silk night suit trying to watch a movie to distract yourself. You couldn't stop thinking about Lando and the memories you two made together. Were you falling for him? You wondered to yourself. What was the point at the end of the day you were leaving, your job here was done, you had tied all loose ends so why didn't you want to leave. Why did your heart want to stay here.
Bored, you switched off your laptop, hiding under the comfort of your duvet.
Tossing and turning, you couldn't fall asleep, you grabbed your phone from the nightstand.
01:25 AM
You got out of the covers, and you found yourself, outside your old house, with the rain pouring heavily the place where Lando lived now. You knew it was late and he was probably sleeping but you wanted to talk to him no scratch that you needed to talk to him. You raised your hand and knocked as loud as you could. No answer. You kept on knocking, you were drenched by the time a disheveled Lando opened the door. Curls a mess. He was standing in front of you in just a pair of grey sweatpants. His vulnerability making him more admirable than ever.
"Y/N, what are you doing here". He asked scratching his scalp
You looked at him nervously, "I needed to see you, Lando I can't leave without knowing what we are".
"You should come inside, your soaking wet". He pulled you into his warm embrace and made you sit on the beige coloured sofa, he handed a warm cup of chamomile tea, taking a seat next to you, "You know what we are, we're friends".
""Then why does it feel like we are so much more, I think I like you and not just in the friend way. I met you not so long ago but your so important to me now, you've given me comfort and-". You were cut off by him grabbing your face in his hands and pulling you into a kiss that took your breath away. You wrapped your arms around his neck as you pulled him closer, your tongues fighting for dominance. Your clothes were stuck to your skin because of the water but you didn't feel cold instead you felt hot, you felt this fire in your body that only one person could extinguish, and that person was right here in front of you, his hands on your waist. Your clothes on the floor, you two in each other's embrace, his fingers in the one spot that drove you crazy. He thrusted his fingers in and out of your core, bringing you to your climax, you let go with a scream as you pulled him in another heated kiss. Your hands caressing his bare chest. He picked you up in his arms and took you upstairs to his new room throwing you on his bed. He climbed on top of you, careful not to crush you with his weight. He left kisses from your neck to your chest. Your back arched off the bed beautifully as he continued his attack on your neck. Your legs felt like jello, your core burning. He stopped his assault for a second opening a condom packet with his teeth and put it on his dick, he shoved his cock into the area you most desired. You had wanted him since the moment you saw him at the party, since the moment you opened up to him about your problems and how he offered to help you.
"Lando, oh my god". You moaned, your hands scratching his back.
You had never felt this way before with any man before, Lando was so gentle with you but at the same time each thrust, each stroke was perfect. You both soon reached your cilmax. He pulled out of you and fell next to you, panting heavily, "That was amazing".
You laughed, turning to face him, "Yeah".
"So does this mean we're exclusive". He asked putting his arms above his head.
You made soft patterns on his chest with your pointer finger "We'll talk about that tomorrow but for now I just want to be here with you".
He pulled you closer to him, wrapping his arms around your waist. He pecked your head and you both dozed off.
𐙚
You woke up before Lando, staring at nowhere in particular, you groaned and shoved your face in your hands. What did you just do. You just lead this amazing guy on. You were leaving day after tomorrow, what was the point. You could never pull off long distance. You grabbed your phone and changed into random clothes you found on the floor and ran out of the house. Running, you found yourself shoving all your clothes in your suitcase as you booked a ticket for the earliest fight from Monaco to New York. You couldn't be here. You felt tears forming in your eyes as you left the hotel, taking a cab you reached the airport. You sat in the plane, staring at the sky outside. You had to forget about this, you weren't good enough for Lando, you never could be.

Coming back to a place you once thought of as your home is never easy, what's even difficult is saying goodbyes to the things you once cherished. It's been years since your grandfather died and you know it's time to sell the one thing you had been dreading to sell in order to set yourself free.

You were sitting in your patio reading a book while drinking coconut water, soaking in the sun, enjoying the breakfast you missed yesterday. When a familiar Mclaren appeared in your driveway. Lando stepped out of his car giving you a small wave as he walked towards you, sitting next to you on the patio, "So what's up what do you want to do today".
"Let's go to Baie de Garavan Beach today".
His eyes widened as he stared at you in shock, "What?, all the way to Menton".
You got up from your chair, hands resting on your waist as you glared at him, "Yes Menton, didn't you say you would help me find my favourite thing".
He got up walking to his car, "Well, what are you waiting for, hop in".
Loud music was blasting in the car, the windows open, feet plopped up on the dashboard, hair flowing in the air, sunglasses resting on the crook of your nose, sundress riding up. Lando stared at you, enjoying the view of the girl in front of him, pretending her fist was her microphone, screaming lyrics to a cheesy song at the top of her lungs, "Oh my god, look at that". You pointed to an old woman on the street, selling orange juice, "Let's get juice, my treat".
You both got out of his car, as you greeted the sweet old woman, asking her for two orange juices with a cute straw. Taking the orange juice from her you handed it to Lando, paying her and walking back to him,"This is fucking delicious".
You laughed smacking his head, "Do you always look for an excuse to swear".
He shook his head, as he gently swatted your hand away, "It's great for when your frustrated".
"And your frustrated huh".
He laughed, "Yep, maybe the beach will be good for me".
You pouted as your finger poked his arm gently, "Hey, let's turn that frown upside down". You took the plastic glass from him as you threw it in the bin. He stared at you in shock as he watched you get in the driver's seat of his precious baby, "Be careful, this is my baby".
You rested your hands on the steering wheel, "It's your turn to be the passenger princess mate".
"Holy shit, be careful, we're gonna crash". You laughed at the horror painted on his face. Parking the car in a corner you got out opening the door for him as you smiled triumphantly, "Ladies first".
You grabbed his hand, intertwining your fingers together, you dragged him through the side walk and to the beach. You set your little picnic basket down on the sandy shore, placing the red and white checkered mat on the sand. Plopping yourself down on the mat, you stared at him, gesturing him to take a seat next to you. You took out your Tatcha sunscreen, applying it on your arms and bare legs, you threw it towards Lando, hoping he'd catch it but the look on his face said otherwise, "Oh my god, I am so sorry". You quickly moved towards him, blowing on his face, as you caressed his cheek, you swore you saw his cheeks turn red, "It's o-okay". He stuttered, getting up from his place on the mat. Your eyes widened as he removed his shirt, revealing his toned chest. He smirked looking at you putting his hand forward for you to hold, "Come on let's go for a swim". You got rid of your dress, showing the baby pink bikini you were wearing. You held is hand as he dragged you into the water. Splashing the water on him, you giggled but you weren't prepared for what was coming next. He pounced on top of you, making you tumble and fall backwards into the cold water. You swam deep into the ocean as you came back up taking a deep breath and revealing your hands, filled with seashells, "Aren't you childish"
You threw a small shell at him, "Says the guy who almost drowned me".
"Come on let's get you dried". He spoke stepping out of the water.
He wrapped the towel around you, making you look like a drenched funny burrito, "Oh my god", He laughed. "I need to take a picture of this, this is gold". He took out his little canon camera and took a photo of you. You hid your face in the towel shyly.
He walked towards you, removing the towel from you, "Hey, you look adorable, don't cover that gorgeous face".
Your face turned as red as a tomato as you scoffed at him, "Nice try".
𐙚
The sun had set, you two were sitting in silence, staring at the moon from your place on the sand. The only sound that could be heard was your munching, everyone had left by now, leaving you and Lando alone, "You never did tell me why you were so frustrated".
He stopped his munching, dropped his sandwich on the mat and turned towards you, "You know, just racing, being too much I haven't been able to get on the podium since weeks, it's frustrating, I keep on trying but my hard work leads me nowhere".
Your expression softened hearing that, "Hey, I know I just met you two days ago but your one of the most genuine guys I have ever met and trust me if you continue working as hard as you say you have been, then good will come to you eventually".
"Thanks"
You started putting all of your stuff in the basket, "I never thanked you properly for that day in the bathroom, consider this a way of me thanking you". You got up from the mat, "Come on let's go, it's getting late".
The walk back to the car, was in comfortable silence, just you two enjoying each other's company.
𐙚
After your talk yesterday, you had decided to surprise Lando with a trip to the car collection of a prince. You watched him run his hands through the door of a red mustang, "You've got to know me pretty well in just three days".
"I take pride in that".
You jumped in excitement as you spotted a car, you knew Lando would love, "Look, that car looks like the one you drive on the race track".
"Your right, Zak and Oscar will love this". He said taking his phone out to take a picture
You shrugged your shoulders, "Now, who are they, I've only ever hear of Charles and his best bud Carlos".
He chuckled, "Oscar's my teammate and well Zak's my boss".
"Your life's so interesting" You groaned
"It has it's perks".
"Come on, let's go there". He pointed towards a vintage Porsche and started walking and you tagged along.
"You know, I own a baby pink Porsche". You boasted
"That's good and all but it's nothing compared to the collection I own".
"Now, the car lover in me needs to see that".
He scoffed, "You call yourself a car lover but you didn't even know who I was".
"I only know the big ones, like everyone else". You joked around.
"Then you should've known about me". He winked playfully.
"There's one more stop I want to make today, it's for my house but you'll come anyways right?"
"Are you shopping for furniture, to help me". He gasped playfully.
"You wished, that's up to you now, I need to buy some groceries".
"Right, we wouldn't want you dying".
𐙚
"It's so hot did you have to drag me here" Lando spoke, wiping the sweat off of his face".
"You said you would help me find my find something I love, don't turn your back on me now plus it's exercise, it's good for all that muscle". You said pointing at his body.
"I didn't know that would mean losing my legs to you".
You stopped at a small stall in the corner, "Will scrumptious mangoes suffice instead".
He held his stomach, "Well now that you mentioned mangoes, I guess I am hungry". His stomach growled making you laugh.
"I can see that". You spoke sarcastically, handing him his very own paper plate filled with ripe mangoes, "God, Y/N, you were right these do make everything better".
"I told you" You took a huge bite of your own pile.
His loud laugh bought you back to earth, "There's something on your face". He said pointing at the mango juice at the corner of your lips, which you were completely oblivious to. You darted your tongue out in an attempt to clean the mango residue of your face, "Is it gone".
"No silly it's still there". He walked towards you and gently wiped the juice away with his finger. The tension between you two was thick, it was like the world around you stopped, you thought he was going to kiss you but instead you cleared your throat and stepped backwards, "Let's get bagels too". You spoke and left him standing there alone until he caught up with you. You weren't ready for a relationship, especially considering that Lando lived in Monaco and you lived in New York, even if you two dated, it would simply never work out and you knew it, long distance simply just wasn't for you. You wanted to be in a relationship where your significant other would be by your side always and you knew that wasn't possible with Lando as much as there was a part in you that wished it was. Having only met the guy this week, you didn't know what to expect. The uncertainty wasn't something you were fond of. You weren't ready for the baggage and the trust issues that would come with it, you might be a coward, but this is your way of protecting yourself from the possibility of possibly hurting yourself, you thought yourself ad you sat in front of a small food truck, a thick bagel, with avocados and cheese in hand, mindlessly nibbling on the sandwich, "Is it good, the sandwich". He gestured to the food in your hand.
"It's perfect, just the way I like it". You took another bite of your sandwich, "How's yours".
"It's fine". The short answer made your stomach churn, did you do something wrong. You didn't want a relationship with this man but you didn't want to lose what you both had at least not until you leave, you needed a friend or an acquaintance, you yourself weren't sure what his deal was or what this was any other man would've just dropped the idea of going to new places every day, but he didn't, even after you almost crashed his very expensive car into a streetlight.
"Do you want a bite". You handed your sandwich to him.
He nodded, taking a bite of your sandwich, his eyes lit up, "I should've ordered this instead".
"I am sure yours isn't bad". You said taking his sandwich, which was decked in chipotle sauce and cheese, "You know what, keep my sandwich, yours is better anyways".
He laughed, there was that laugh again. You didn't realise how grateful you were to see a stranger laugh, everything was back to the way it was from the moment you met, the tension was gone and all that was left was the beginning of a possible new friendship.

𐙚
Goodbye's were never easy, you learnt that the hard way. The wind knocked you off your feet. Monaco was still the same, the richness in the air, the sweet enveloping smell of the coast. You hadn't been here in years. Your grandfather's death had hurt you a great deal. He was the one who raised you after your parents death. You had hoped to leave your traumas and problems in Monaco when you left at the ripe age of seventeen to pursue your dreams.
The estate was exactly the same as it was before, posh, proper, it screamed royalty just like the whole of Monaco. You opened the large antique black doors and walked into the place you once called home. You felt as if you were four again. Hugging your teddy bear to your chest, balling your eyes out after you heard the news about your parents private jet crashing. Your grandfather trying his level best to cheer you up, trying to make you laugh. Growing up he would try his level best to be your cheerleader you never had the heart to tell him that his jokes were terrible. He just wasn't the kind of person who would sacrifice everything for just a little girl who now seems to have the world in her hands. The house was empty, all the furniture covered with cream coloured sheets. Dust bunnies all over the place. Your grandfather would have hated to see the house like this. You ran your hands on the railing as you walked to your teenage bedroom. The room hitting you with a wave of nostalgia. The grand bed and the large balcony. You placed your suitcase in a corner. You went to the store room to take out fresh sheets, you'd be staying here for a while, so this needed to feel like home the way it did once. While taking out the sheets, you found the little black book that once was your whole entire life. You ran your hands through the pages of the album, laughing and giggling as you saw photos of you as a rebellious teenage girl, partying, going out with boys that was your whole life at a time but now modelling was your whole life. You wanted to say goodbye to this place in the most grand way possible. It was time to take an idea from that little black book and put it to use. You texted everyone you knew from your childhood.
Your sundress floated around in the warm air as you walked back from the little birthday shop across the street, bags in your hand filled with balloons, banners. You were super excited you had been waiting for a party to come around. Monaco had the best parties and this was going to be one of them.
The sky turned to dusk, and people started to enter the house. You greeted everyone with a smile on your face ready to get this party. The kitchen was filled with expensive booze. The music was loud everyone was in the centre of the living room, giggling and dancing. Couples in the corner making out, people throwing up in the bathroom. It was a typical high school rager just how you liked it. You joined people in the garage, playing beer pong with your high school friends, when you saw a familiar face walk in. It was your older brother's childhood best friend, Charles. Only he wasn't alone, next to him was a curly haired guy, with a small moustache. You waved to Charles as you gestured him to come over.
"Hey Y/N, how are you? I haven't seen you since forever, I heard about your grandfather how have you been doing".
You shot him a smile and engulfed him in a hug, "I am doing fine now, I see racing's been going well".
He let out a chuckle, "It's going".
"Who's your friend". You gestured to the handsome man standing next to Charles.
Charles wrapped an arm around the young man "Oh, yeah this is Lando"
You immediately put your hand forward to shake his hand. His warm hand enveloped your perfectly. It was a perfect fit.
"Hello, I am Lando, nice place you got here"
You told him your name and gave him a smile. When your phone started to ring, it was the young couple who was going to buy your grandfather's estate.
"I am sorry, I have to take this, have fun" You spoke and left the garage
What you didn't expect was the call to leave you in tears. Here you were sitting in your bathroom, crying and clutching your phone tightly in your hands. You quickly wiped your tears as you saw the same man come inside your bathroom, a red solo cup in hand.
"Oh, it's you again, I am sorry I thought no one was here". He spoke nervously looking at his shoes.
You chuckled "It is my home after all"
"Do you mind if I sit here"
"Yeah of course". He grabbed your vanity chair and sat on it. "So why are you crying".
"You saw that, you didn't hear anything right". You spoke suddenly becoming conscious of yourself.
He started to fidget with his fingers "No but do you want to talk about it". You raised your eyebrow at him.
He raised his hands in defence "Geez, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to".
"It's fine, it's just I used to live here with my grandfather after my parents died, now my grandfather's dead and I have come here all the way from New York to sell this house and the buyers who were originally going to buy this house backed out of the deal so now I am left with no buyers and no one who can continue to maintain this house".
His lips fell into a thin straight line, "There are so many people who would love to live here why don't you sell it to one of them".
You let out a sarcastic chuckle, "You don't get it this house is old, it's been here at the same spot in the same state, it's in top notch condition but every single person who wants to buy this house wants to rebuild it from scratch and my grandfather wouldn't like that, heck, he didn't even like me moving to New York".
You saw his face light up as he gave you the biggest smile you had ever experienced, "How about I buy it".
You burst into laughter at his proposition, you pointed a finger at him, "You want to buy this house"
He gave you a perplexed look, "Yeah it's a beautiful house". He pulled out his phone and started to type something, he shoved his phone in your face.
"Lando, Lando Norris" You spoke reading the long Wikipedia page he opened on himself. "So your an f1 driver like Cha, and you want to buy this house".
"Yes" He gave you a wink
"Fine, I'll sell you my house but you have to promise you won't try to rebuild it from scratch like those other dumbasses".
He nodded and linked your pinky finger together, "Promise, for how long are you here though"
"I was gonna be here for a month but now that I have a new buyer I might stay here for an extra month, stay in this house for a little more time before you move in here".
He looked at his phone and his eyes widened, "It's late very late, I'll come tomorrow to see the house then".
"Yeah, pleasure doing business with you" You shook his hand, "I should probably shoo these people away
𐙚
You woke up next morning in the comfort of your bed, stretching your arms you removed your silk sleeping mask and kept it on your nightstand. You walked towards your marble bathroom to get ready for the day. Putting on a cute little white dress, you got out of your bedroom heading downstairs to make some breakfast. This place was starting to feel like home again, but you knew you had to get back to New York, get back to your busy life, to the fashion weeks and flashing lights. Your phone lit up, it was a text message from an unknown number.
It's me Lando, I got your phone number from Charles, I am coming to see the house today, if that's okay with you?
You totally forgot about that, you were drunk out of your mind, you didn't think he was serious but it was worth a shot. He was pretty serious about buying your house. A knock made you come back to earth. You opened the door and were greeted by Lando, "Can I come in"
You opened the door widely, "Welcome to my humble abode".
His smile soon faded and his nose scrunched up, trying to pick up on the burning smell in the kitchen, "What's that smell?".
Oh shit. Your food was burning, you ran into the kitchen and immediately switched the stove off, you threw the burnt toast in the dustbin.
"Sorry, that was my breakfast".
"How about this, I see the house and you and I can go out and get food to finalise the deal".
You looked down at the floor shyly and nodded, "I'd love that".
𐙚
"And this is my bedroom, it's very girly I know but it'd make a perfect guest room, the view is amazing, the coastline, the warm air, the smell of the sea wafting in the air, what more could you ask for". You tried your best to makeup for the kitchen fiasco, worried that your carelessness might cause you the very great deal you had made.
Your blood ran cold when he chuckled, "Did you really think I would cancel our deal over that".
"Yeah"
He walked towards you, "I am serious about buying this house, it's beautiful just like it's owner".
"Is this your way of flirting with me".
He came closer to you, "Maybe".
You patted his chest, swatting him away playfully, "Nice try, we just met".
"Then get to know me".
You gave him a light smirk, "Maybe, after we finish the tour".
"This is the backyard, there's a huge pool over there, for sunbathing and pool parties, we have a small patch over there to grow vegetables and fruits, though it needs some water, ahh here's my favourite part of the backyard the gazebo, the backyard should be enough to knock your socks off along with the view of course". You spoke enthusiastically.
He clapped his hands together, "Your right this is a great investment, I am ready to buy this house right here right now".
You laughed loudly. Your laugh was like music to his ears, "Woah, easy there tiger there are some formalities first".
"Now that the tour is over how about that lunch".
You grabbed your bag from the table, "Fine, fine you got me".
𐙚
You and Lando, took a seat at a small café, surrounded by the serene beauty of Monaco. You could feel him staring at you, trying to hold his laugh, "Why are you dressed like that".
You fiddled with the flimsy menu held together in a small binder, "I thought you would understand, paparazzi, fans, I just don't want to get ambushed".
You admired this place, this little corner where you could come and eat, surrounded by flowers, greenery.
"Unlike you, I actually care about my fans, if anyone asks for a photo you give them what you want".
Taking off your designer sunglasses, you scoffed, "Clearly, your experience has been different". You ushered a waiter over to your table, "Umm, can I have the creamy pesto shrimp pasta and Lando what would you like to have".
The young Brit pointed his finger at some spot in the menu, "I'll have the cacio e pepe".
"So tell me more about yourself, your hobbies, ex-girlfriends". You wiggled your eyebrows amusingly
"Well with formula one I haven't found many hobbies, but I love streaming, I have a twitch account you should check it out, secondly, I have a couple ex-girlfriends".
"Aren't you a casanova".
"I am hardly a casanova, I am just too charming but enough about me and more about you, I want to know about your glamorous life in New York". He spoke taking a sip of his drink
You played around with the small paper straw in your pink lemonade, toying with the huge ice cubes, "It's not as thrilling as racing, but I get to wear pretty clothes, own many bags, get to travel for work a lot and the perks are just an addition but it isn't my favourite thing in the world".
His attention was now all on you his pasta untouched, and his eyes focused on you, "And what is this favourite thing of yours".
"It's quite funny, I don't know that myself".
You noticed how his face shifted, his lips curled into a frown. A guy like him only deserved to smile and looked his best when he was happy, "Then that's what we're going to find out till your here in Monaco".
"Aren't you busy with races". You questioned
He poked his cheek with his tongue giving you a tight lipped smile, "Oh, you can come to them too, cheer me on you know"
"That sounds fun".
"Trust me it is, so what do you want to do first".
You took a bite of your pasta, eyes widening slowly, "What, you mean you want to find my favourite thing now".
He gave his credit card to the young waitress, asking her to get him the cheque, "Yes now".
Here you were walking with 'The Lando Norris'. Holding gelato in your hand staring at the sun setting down."In all my years of living here I never appreciated the coastline until now".
You watched him take a huge bite of the pistachio ice cream in his hand, you knew he was regretting that bite by the look on his face, "Shit, this shit's cold".
"Were you even listening to me". You crossed your arms together forging a playful pout in order to guilt trip him.
"Something about the coastline".
"I guess you were listening".
You couldn't believe the man sitting next to you, eating his gelato and making jokes like a little child, the sun casting a warm glow on his face, enhancing his features you swore you had never seen a man as perfect as him before, "Come on, I'll take you home".
Riding in his Mclaren, your head out the window, your hair flowing in the air, you had never felt this alive before and it was all because of some guy who wanted to buy your house as a favour to you.
Now here he was standing in front of you, dropping you back home after an eventful day with that same droopy smile. There was tension but you couldn't act on it so you just smiled awkwardly, "I had fun today, same time tomorrow?"
"Heck yeah, I won't let you leave till we find that favourite thing of yours".
