Last Saturday, I went to pick up their new summer home. Once settled, Canelle, the shyer of the two, obediently entered his new home. I had tried to call Brioche, the sweetest, for two days before the arrangement, but to no avail. 😔 Unfortunately, my fears came true 😭 when my neighbor called me on Friday to tell me that she had found Brioche in her swimming pool. 😭 It was an immense feeling of guilt, but several people reminded me that the real culprits were those who abandoned them in winter. 😔
During this time I received an extension to enlarge the house so that Canelle could benefit from more space. I can now pet her and as soon as possible, I will take her to the vet to determine her/his sex and an exam to next find her a sterilized companion in a shelter. Despite these promising plans, my heart is heavy to have lost Brioche just 48 hours into his new life. 🙁
P.S. On a more positive note, for now, Atchoum, the great hunter, is behaving kindly towards Canelle and she is not afraid of him at all. But obviously, I wouldn't give him the keys to the rabbit residence... 😹

When Atchoum was little, he used to love sleeping with his head resting on a pillow, clutching a plushie in his paws. Unfortunately, some things don't last. As he's grown older, Atchoum now comes to snuggle against my neck at 4 in the morning and snores like a tractor. 😫🤣🤣
