one of the surreal things about traveling is the natural environment actually looking like artistic depictions of it

when looking at art of trees, its easy to sort of have your brain wash over them as "artistic depcitions" of trees. But then you go there, and no-- the trees there actually look like that.

this was my experience going to europe after seeing so many landscapes with european trees and foliage in them. Like the trees in europe really do look like the trees in that 17th century baroque landscape painting.

It was also my experience in virginia. You watch disney's pocahontas (1995) and those background paintings of tall trees with all the foliage on top wash over you as artistic license, and then you go to virginia, and it's like. oh, pocahontas (1995) did have exactly one (1) realistic thing in it. and it was the shape of the trees

Ok, as your are the officially designated representative of Andrew-is-trans headcanon, I have a question.

I realized, technically, the story isn't over, and because of that, some headcanon isn't really headcanon yet. Theoretically, anything could happen. Some things are way, way more likely to happen than others, and Andrew's egg cracking seems very unlikely, but if it were to happen, how do you think that would fit into the story? How would you want it to fit into the story? The ways that could interact with the game's themes of ostracization and the sibling's relationship alone could be a huge topic tbh.

Okay, genuinely, if I were to think about where it would genuinely fit into the game, I would probably have it be something with the demon/dream realm and how Andrew seems to be brought into it from the teasers and spoilers we've seen from Nemlei and co.

Like, I think route agnostic mentions from the narration and grimesoul Andrew about not feeling right as a kid, envy and repression about feminity, classic stuff, deniable by cis people type of stuff cause while the game isn't subtle with its shock factor, it's incredibly subtle with its inner characterization and psychology for Andy and Leyley.

Then, maybe route dependent, some way of seeing Andrew's mask/social self image vs her idealized self image, perhaps Ashley sees it too, so Andrew can't just cover it up and ignore it.

Wouldn't really factor into the wider story that episode 2 seems to set up, at least not directly, but the end doodle from Ashley's pov would draw the Ashley bunny and the Andrew bunny together, just swapping out the dumb sweater tag with a bow on her head <3

So need something to hammer home for the audience that it IS trans story and that's a lot less deniable.

I think some people forget that some literature and some media is meant to be deeply uncomfortable and unsettling. It's meant to make you have a very visceral reaction to it. If you genuinely can't handle these stories then you are under no obligation to consume them but acting as if they have no purpose or as if people don't have a right to tell these stories, stories that often relate to the darkest or most disturbing parts of life, then you should do some introspection.
