Obscura #3: Digimon World 1
Digimon world 1 is a game I have a massive love for, and the content within it is janky but lovable. But, despite the cast of Digimon you can obtain, there's actually a few cut digimon!
Digimon world 1 is a game I have a massive love for, being a game I actually own and have beaten a couple of times. Digimon world 1 is a game that lets you raise your own Digimon. You must train your digimon, care for it properly, and explore the world and recruit people to your town! They help in a variety of ways, from item storages, hospitals, diners, an arena, all helping make the world easier to traverse!
Tumblr media
There's a rather small selection of Digimon to obtain through evolutions, this here being the screen showing you all the digimon that exist within the game (after digivolving into them, of course.)
Tumblr media
However, did you know within the gamefiles, there's some extra digimon not implemented in the game? They are, MetalEtemon, Gigadramon, and Panjyamon (Or IceLeomon).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, two extra digimon exist with no models, those two would be Kaminarimon, and WereGarurumon! (I had no idea what Kaminarimon was and had to look them up for the sake of providing an image. They've not made any appearances at all, so it's surprising they were even thought to be in this game!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All of these digimon have digivolution items as well! Meaning these were all cut rather late in development. These items are the MetalBanana, Noble Mane, Giga Hand, Electro Ring, and Moon Mirror.
That being said, to those wondering why WereGarurumon was cut and not prioritized to be put in, this game came out before the Anime! An interesting extra tidbit, is the english voice actor for Mameo is Mona Marshall, also voices Izzy from that anime!
Extra ---------------------------------------- Deepest apologies for disappearing for so long! I meant to make new posts, but I got a little sidetracked and accidentally forgot about making posts for this blog!

Obscura #4: Super Mario Galaxy
Mario Galaxy is a Nintendo game for the Wii (and later re-released as part of 3D All Stars), and is home to a couple things we'll be sure to talk about! First things first, we'll have to get back to basics and talk about the very popular Hell Valley Sky Trees.
Tumblr media
These four strange creatures were quite the talk back in earlier internet days, and were on many, many Top 10 Creepiest X's. There's still absolutely nothing known about why they were implemented, they're just lurking there in the background. Now funnily enough, no matter what you do, you can't go to the Hell Valley Sky Trees at all, as they're part of the skybox. I won't go too indepth about them, as I would have nothing that hasn't already been said.
Second thing we'll talk about is the Toy Train hidden away in Toy Time Galaxy. Tucked away underneath a triangle block, and on an alcove, you'll be able to find a strange train simply hidden away.
Tumblr media
This train serves no purpose and is simply... hidden away. We also don't know why this is placed. The Hell Valley Sky Tress might've been placed just to spook more observant players and or fuel the old playground rumors. But this train? This one weirds me out even to this day. Maybe an inside joke? Who knows.
Either way, these two hidden off things are relatively well known in the Mario community, but there's always someone who doesn't know these things! Next Obscura I'll be sure to put out something actually obscure, but it's nice to get back to basics!

Obscura #3: Slenderman Sightings
Slenderman is an old creepypasta and has been around for years upon years. Through these years, he's appeared in a few video games.
Slenderman has appeared in Runner 2, in the background of a level
Tumblr media
In Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare behind Zomboss's Mansion in the woods, although this easter egg has since been removed, unfortunately.
Tumblr media
And more recently, in Phasmaphobia!
Tumblr media
Slenderman is a sneaky little critter, I know he's been in more games, but here's a fun few examples of the little devil.

Obscura #3: Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights
Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights is a beloved cult classic, found on the Playstation 2 and Gamecube. The game follows Scooby Doo trying to save his crew and the day from the dastardly Mastermind. Todays weird glitch is the out of bounds glitch you can use in the game.
In "Yella in the Cella part 4", you can obtain the Bubble power-up, which as long as you have enough ammunition for it, allows Scooby Doo to capture monsters and put them in a bubble, which Scooby Doo can use to jump on top of as a platform. This game has probably the easiest out of bounds glitch one could possibly do. By obtaining the Bubble power up, getting a monster close to a wall, and then using the Charge attack. If you wiggle enough, you can just simply... pop out of bounds!
youtube
When I was younger, this little glitch was exceptionally fun to mess around with! I often did it in "On Edge in the Hedge Part 2." Unfortunately, if you stray too far from the main path, Scooby Doo may occasionally teleport back to where you entered the room in!
If you own this game, I'd say play with this little glitch. As far as I know, there's no real good use for it. But, not everything needs a use.
Anyways, that's all for this Obscura! Take care~🖤

Obscura #2: Pokemon’s Glitch City Ghost Girl
Many glitches have been found in the early Pokemon games, Missing.no, Bad Eggs, and “Brock through walls,” but one that doesn’t seem to get enough love is Pokemon Gold, Silver & Crystals Glitch City Ghost Girl. You can find her if you cheat with a Walk through walls glitch, on an emulator that fails to emulate perfectly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If she battles you, she will sputter out nonsensical text, and when the battle starts, she’ll simply crash your game! But, Inputting another cheat code/tampering, you can give her the ability to battle you, and you learn this Ghost Girl actually has a name, Cara!
Tumblr media
She has only 3 Pokemon, Two Horseas and a Kingdra. With this, you figure out that her name and her Pokemon are actually taken from a trainer in the Dragon’s Den. However, upon defeating Cara, you’ll see this!
Tumblr media
A red Kingdra! Now, in terms of gameplay, this is about all you get. She appears, spouts nonsense, fights you, and then leaves. However, there’s a little more people connect her with, and that’s with some unused text that would appear in Ecruteak City. “Oh, no. Oh, no… My daughter is missing. No… She couldn’t have gone to the BURNED TOWER. I told her not to go near it… People seem to disappear there… Oh, what should I do…?“
This is to be a side quest that was ultimately scrapped. But connecting this to Cara here, one could theorize this is what happened: One day, Cara went to the Burned Tower, and somehow met an unfortunate demise. Now, she’s a ghost, doomed to roam Glitch City, a distorted nonsensical world for all eternity.
This is a Glitch I personally wish got a bit more recognition, but alas. That’s all for this obscura, thanks for reading~! ♥ Credits ------------------------------------------------------------ TCRF: Unused Text TheZZAZZGlitch: Information u/Redoulou: Screenshots Pixels after Dark: Screenshots & Information

Obscura #1: Sonic CD
For the very first Obscura, I’ll go over the infamous Sonic CD secret screens! There’s not just one!
Tumblr media
In Sonic CD,  by inputting specific codes into the Sound test, you can get unique screens.
By inputting (FM 46, PCM 12, DA 25),  Created by “Satan”  “Masato Nishimura,” this screen is the most famous out of all the secret screens, scaring many people over the years. Accompanied with this image is Sonic CD’s Boss Theme. The text below reads, “Infinite fun, Sega Enterprises - Mazin Picture.”
Tumblr media
However, while this is the most infamous screen, there’s more to see! By inputting (FM 42, PCM 4, DA 21), and created by “Takumi Miyake.“ You’ll get what’s nicknamed “Batman Sonic,” due to the muscular figure, and darkness. The final boss theme plays during this little screen.
Tumblr media
By inputting (FM 44, PCM 11, DA 9), you’ll get an adorable little sonic here. The Japanese text you see below translates to “You are cool”, “By Sanchanzu.”
Tumblr media
By inputting (FC 44, PCM 11, DA 9), The artist behind “The Fastest DJ, MC SONIC” is none other than “Kazuyuki Hoshino!” With the phrase “Can I kick it?” Looking it up, it’s a call and response, wanting the audience to say Yes.
Tumblr media
Finally, by inputting (FM 40, PCM 12, DA 11), you’ll this art of Tails with Lotus Seven. Created by “Judy Toyota,” “Yasushi Yamaguchi”. Not much to say for this one!
Tumblr media
And that is all for our first Obscura, I look forward to showing many more, hee hee hee~ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits go to Sonic Retro for a lot of this information! ♥
