DFGHDJKF ok i know, it's evil, the entire zine is evil you should go read it!!!!!!! but also, i remember coming up with this prompt and the image of mikeko trying to wake a dead apollo up evoked such a visceral reaction in me that i audibly went "NOOOOOO" when i thought it up LOL

the fourth page is the first page i ever thumbnailed bc i knew EXACTLY how i wanted this thing to end!

i think my favorite page of this comic is the 2nd page (the 4th page being my second favorite bc what can i say, i'm evil wheezes) i just really enjoyed drawing the montage of apollo going about his life and kristoph just. being there. always watching him.

i keep thinking about how spark brushel mentioned feeling like he was being watched those past 7 years. i imagined apollo would get a taste of that once he starts trying to find out the truth behind what happened in his first case.

and as for my favorite panel, I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE!! it's just fun shoving every important element alluding to the case 7 years ago to the moment when zak died!

and it's not very obvious but an element i really like about this one is zak still on the chair he died on. it's just his torso visible and i would've loved to make it more obvious that he's there but oh well.

i can't think of anything else to add about drawing this so i'll end it by saying: PLEASE GO READ THE ZINE, IT'S SO SOS SOSOSOS FULL OF LOVE FOR HURT AND TRAGEDY AND THE WAY MY FELLOW ZINEMATES EXPLORED THAT IS SUCH!!! GOOD AND HEARTWRENCHING STUFF!!!!!!!!!

i had to take a break from reading the zine when i went out to finish it bc my chest started to physically hurt bc ohhhhh lordy, it just hurt. it just hurt a lot! (please do read the trigger warnings before reading the thing bc this zine deals with a lot of heavy stuff!)

i like to joke about how i'm evil and enjoy evil things such as angst no comfort which. well, it's kind of true LMAO so i'm thrilled that i was able to be a part of this zine and cook up something completely terrible <3

sorry for the question but i'm new to the yakuza fandom and i can't figure out, where does the nickname "waka" come from for masato?

Welcome to the fandom, first of all! Second of all, sorry for the late response, so if you've already found out the answer that's my bad--I've been running around like a headless chicken and kept forgetting to answer.

Waka (若) is generally translated as "Young Master," and it's the traditional title given to a yakuza boss's son. Ichiban calls Masato this out of yakuza decorum and then sticks to it out of habit when they're older, as well as probably wanting to continue to show respect to the Arakawa father and son.

How is "reality boils down to belief" fascist? Genuine question, you're a smart person and I want your opinion.

I'm gonna be oversimplifying here so bare with me:

Sometimes I feel like people these days think of fascists like bullies from a movie. They see the dedicated fascist mind as something almost knight-like; a rigorous machine dedicated to things like duty and honor and strength and cruelty.

The experience of being a fascist is a deeply, deeply emotional thing. Hell, a common mantra in alt-right circles is "feels over reals," meaning "evidence cannot truly be evidence if it makes you feel disgusted. Your internal experience of the world is the ultimate metric of truth."

And this isn't a recent idea. Fascists have always been obsessed with the concept of individual willpower. Read: the idea that if you don't get what you want, you didn't want it enough. If you tried your best and didn't reach your goal, it was due to a fundamental weakness of your will.

Humans are not logical creatures. Part of being human is being irrational, and making space for other people when they are irrational. But a massive -massive- part of being a fascist is actively and gleefully ignoring reality to a self-destructive degree. Might makes right, so whatever makes the mighty feel good must therefore be right.

I am not exaggerating when I say "reality boils down to belief" is how fascists see the world. Anything that makes them feel good is true, and anything that makes them feel bad is false. That is how they see the world.

Antis are a cult. Why? Argue. You have 4 hours. #antisrdumb

I wouldn't say antis are dumb, just really misguided since a lot of the antis I've seen are kids. The more I read into how Antis think and operate the more I think they could really use some counselling. And maybe their computers and phones taken off them if they're minors.

I'll start with my most recent concern: Shunning friends and family for not agreeing with them. In my pinned post you can see two such examples, and in one, the anti is told by their peer that their own mother is dangerous. This has happened in cults such as the Jehovah's Witnesses, in which they will shun their own family and friends for going against what the congregation is taught.

Then there's the behaviour control tactics. I've heard testimony from a former anti that they were encouraged to spy on their peers and report back on any problematic behaviour. There's also the classic example of Antis saying that, if you suffered abuse and you indulge in material containing abuse, you deserved it or you're as bad as your abuser. And much like I've seen cults and certain arms of Christianity do, Antis will deliberately ignore the scientific findings that prove otherwise simply because it doesn't fit the narrative.

Then there's the harassment campaigns. This is the sort of shit I've only seen from Scientology, and these campaigns have resulted in suicides or suicide attempts. There are actual victims, and as far as I know, US law says that suicide baiting resulting in death is still murder. (I'm not sure about Australian law or laws in the UK). These harassment campaigns have outed people who live in places where being LGBT will get you stoned to death, with these victims never heard from again, ruined careers and ruined lives. For instance, the Handsome Hugs incident, and the Zamii070 incident. Thankfully Zamii (or Paige) has managed to rebuild her life, though Ang isn't as lucky and is still struggling to this day. (Please donate to their GoFundMe so they can get back on their feet.) There's also the continued harassment of artists like IAmLunaSol, with someone encouraging one of the minors who accosted her at a convention to sneak in a gun. LunaSol has been handling the situation well enough, though that still doesn't make it okay. There's also the case of an anti telling a CSA survivor that they have the CSA material their abuser used the victim to make. I hope that was untrue, possession of CSEM is a crime that will put you on a registry and possibly in jail too.

While lacking any religious organisation that acts as the ultimate authority, Antis have exhibited too many cultlike behaviours that are extremely worrying. I blame this partially on the post 9/11 thinking of safety over freedom that has caused the younger generation to be fearful of their own shadows because it could be someone coming to hurt them. I encourage education on the topic, I'm happy to provide sources on psychological studies that have proved Antis wrong. Above all, don't sink to their level.
