Just saw a tiktok with a young woman demanding that people publish more non-spicy books, and I'm like gurl. If you're in the romance section of the store/library, that's the ENTIRE POINT of that genre. If you want something non-spicy, walk over to another section. There's SO FUCKING MUCH fantasy and sci fi westerns and horror that have romantic sub plots and zero smut. You want to read romance with less spice? Look for older books. There were already thousands and thousands of romances published before you were born that have zero to mild spice, and you can still find them in libraries. Look for the Harlequin label, they'll feed you.

And QUIT READING THE RECS FROM THE SPICY SIDE OF BOOKTOK. Fuck's sake, if the books they're recommending are not to your taste, then STOP READING THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS. Start exploring other genres and make your own fucking rec lists you goddamn whiny baby.

I’m a dog person til I die (love cats too but I am also allergic so I try not to let myself get too attached, ya know?) and I hate nothing more than seeing untrained dogs in restaurants and non-pet friendly stores. Here’s why:

I’d say a majority of people who feel the need to drag their dog to the grocery store and such have NOT properly socialized and desensitized their dog. There’s a good chance the poor thing is overstimulated and terrified.

It exposes the dog to a whole host of toxins and diseases.

As OP said, it’s dangerous for people to be around a strange, untrained dog.

They can distract service animals.

There are also countless cases where someone’s pet attacked a service dog and ended its career. Service dogs take at least a year if not two to train yourself and pre-trained dogs are incredibly expensive. By bringing pets in public, people are severely endangering disabled people.

It’s just downright unsanitary to have a large volume of animals in environments that need to be clean.

I hate hate hate hate how dog friendly everything is in the city now. Barring medical necessity, there is no reason to bring your dog to a restaurant, there is no reason to bring your dog to the grocery store, there is no reason to bring your dog to the nail salon. Dogs do not need to go everywhere you go why am I being forced to be around dogs all the time
