Reading the work #1
At this point in the book we have learned the catch. And this really has me thinking about society and how society is today. In the book there is basically no way past this "catch 23" and in life really there is no getting past things. This book is showing me the horror of the war through the eyes of a fictional character. Right now I am amazed that people volunteer for the army knowing that they will have almost no control over anything they will do while they are there. Basically you do what they tell you to do and you have no choice but to do it even if it is wrong. Yosarrian is clearly crazy but he can't stop flying because he knows he is crazy, therefore he isn't that crazy and has to fly more. This actually makes me think of the movie "a few good men" where the soldiers get into major trouble for simply following orders from their superiors. The paradox used in this catch is really starting to annoy me and that's not good because it is used a lot...

Catch 22
The book that I chose to read is Catch 22. The reason I chose this book is because my dad said it was on of his favorites ever. He told me a little bit about it when I asked and I thought it sounded fairly interesting. So I chose it!

Remix Me
I believe that I am not a remix of anything. I believe that my personality is different from everyone else in the world. I believe that every person is original and is not a remix of anyone

disagree. the first colored painting was original but all the ones after that could be considered copies or remakes.
I believe that colored painting is original. Going back many years, people could not paint in color. Over time, people discovered how to paint with color. I believe this is original because back then people knew only non-colored painting. The creation of painting with color was truly an original idea.

this picture states that criminals aren't going to follow laws in the first place so why make any laws? it creates the argument for guns to be put in every house.

It’s so easy to explain why gun bans and gun free zones don’t “really” work.

this picture creates an argument that we should amp  up the regulations on gun control laws. just to make it reasonable compared to cars

this creates the enlargement that we should use more guns to protect our self. but also that we should kill the burglar...

I wonder how many burglars would want to run into this?

Human Value
I believe that everyone has a value of some sort, including the old sick and crippled.  But I think that sometimes the consequences out ways the benefits.  I imagine that if we got rid of humans over the age of 75 or 70(numbers don’t matter that much) the economy would benefit. We would no longer have to pay as much social security taxes to support the lives of those who can’t support themselves.  I think that terminally ill people should be tested on for future drugs to see if they will work. And stop trying to save them with a failed drug. I realize this is morally wrong and I don’t necessarily think that this is what we should do, but I do believe that it would be a pretty sound fix.

Mao
I believe that Mao's quote is very true. I think that in some instances people are scared of what one person may bring, so they avoid that. I think that politicians use scare tactics much like waving a gun around. I don't think this is the right way of going about this, but it is the way it is. Many Americans don't always see the fallacies that they state. And therefore think that it is true. Politics and guns don't mix very well.

The Blurred Line Between Work and Play
Well i consider my own life and experiences to have a blurred line when it comes to work and play.  Particularly in soccer.  I consider soccer to be my job sometimes, because i am trying to make a living of my skills and love of soccer. But every time i play the sport i have fun and it is like play.  For me it also depends on what I'm doing with the soccer.  I treat going up to the school field in the summer with Kobe very different than when i am at a recruiting camp, or playing in a state cup game.  i consider soccer as both work and play.  because i have fun doing what i love and i am also trying to make a living of off it.

Work Vs. Play
Ever since middle school i have adopted Mr. Wents Opinion on hard work. He believes that "Hard work is fun." personally i love to work hard for a few reasons.  first in the situation of personal health and activity, i always feel awake and lively after working out or a hard practice.  i love the feeling of sore muscles and having to stretch them to make them feel better.  secondly it keeps me busy. i do my best work when i have very little time to do it.  my grades are often better when im working on my soccer and on my baseball. this all makes hard work fun, and playing is also fun.  i also think that when you work it makes playing that much better, almost like a time to relax.

Dwelling
One dwelling that i can relate to is the nest of a squirrel.  i relate to this because in survival we created shelters using almost the exact same materials, the only difference being that ours was on the ground as apposed to being way up a tree. this shelter we made was very warm and cozy.  i can completely see how it is suitable for squirrels to live in full time.

so in a way is it when they put aside their ego's, they can work as a team? Ego is the downfall of all male athletes, and has been proven many times.
Friday Night Lights #1
Dreams don’t always come true but in the book Friday Night Lights, this West Texas town becomes a place where dreams can come true. This book shows how people can change to work as a team and not only as selfish individuals (Abstract Topic #2: Change) Working as a team helps this team keep the hopes and dreams of this dusty town going.

this is almost the same situation that my author goes through throughout his childhood.  its funny how a little title or stereotype can affect a life in the way that it does.
After eighth grade Sedaris and his sister Lisa are sent away to a month-long summer camp in Greece. It is there that he comes to accept that he is gay, as much as he doesn’t like the idea. During the trip, his sister Lisa finds a new friend from Brooklyn and changes her personality to fit the...
