That emptiness, sadness, anger, anxiety, burden you’ve been feeling is not something the world can fix. Nothing of this world will heal you. Not even your parent, sibling, best friend or boyfriend/girlfriend. There is only One that can give you rest and heal your broken heart: Jesus Christ. When you surrender to Him, everything falls into place. Serving Jesus doesn’t mean your life will be perfect and easy… but it does mean you’ll have a Savior that will guide you every step of the way. Christ will comfort your sadness. Ease your stress. Deplete your anger. Restore your soul. The world brings suffering and pain, but Jesus overcomes the world. He is everything you have been looking for and more.
”Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.“ ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭29‬ ‭KJV‬‬
”He healeth the broken in heart, And bindeth up their wounds.“ ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭147‬:‭3‬ ‭KJV‬‬
”These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.“ ‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

”And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.“ Matthew‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬ ‭
The Son of God was born in a manger, the lowest and most humble way a person could be born. He gave the gift of His life to us so that we may have eternal life with Him when our days are over. There is no greater gift than Jesus, the Savior of the world. Let us always rejoice and praise God for the birth of Jesus everyday of our lives, and not just on Christmas.

“5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!… 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” James 3:5,8. Gossip, bragging, lying, cursing and hurtful words are just a few of the many means of communication we use. Every single person struggles with at least one of these. So many problems would be solved if we could tame our tongue, but as we are told from verse 8, no man can tame it. It is its own little member that does what it wants, and we must be wary of it. It is full of wickedness and deadly poison, but thankfully we have Christ, who is the only One to overcome it. With God, we can speak blessings and goodness instead of evil. Before we say anything, we must pray for discernment and think, “would Jesus say this?” If He wouldn’t, then don’t say it. In every word we speak, let us honor God and bless others.

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9. Those who live for the Lord are promised a forever home with God in His kingdom of heaven. I often try to picture what heaven will be like with the pearly gates and streets of gold. It’s beautiful to imagine, but what God has prepared for those who love Him exceeds our expectations. Heaven is going to be more beautiful than anything we’ve ever seen, more wonderful than anything we’ve ever heard. It’s going to be so perfect and marvelous, we can’t even begin to fathom it. So, let us love God above all else with all of our heart, soul, strength, and mind (Mark 12:30), that we may receive this glorious gift of heaven.

“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” 2 Timothy 2:4. Once we submit to God, He chooses us to be soldiers. Christ is our commander, we do as He says, please Him in every way, we have on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-17), and fight against the enemy with all our might. Before we lived for Christ, we were tangled up in the world and its sinful nature. Satan had a tight grip around us. But when we came to God, we realized just how terrible that past life was and do not want to give in to it again. So as a soldier in battle, we must not be entangled with sin or the affairs of this life. We cannot be enticed by the enemy to join his side. As it says in 2 Peter 2:20, going back to our life of sin with the devil only brings worse judgement in the end because we knew what we had and gave it up. As soldiers for the Lord, let us fight the good fight of faith and strive for that end goal of winning eternal life alongside our fellow soldiers. 1 Timothy 6:12. Never turn back to sin. Keep fighting for the Lord, please Him in every way, and He will reward you greatly in the end.

“Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.” - 1 Samuel 12:24. Even though God is love, we should fear Him above all else. This is because of His power and might, and how He could punish us if we disobey Him. This fear is part of why we serve the Lord, and our service to Him should be in truth with all of our heart. To serve God in truth means we fully live by what His Word says, and if Jesus is the Word (John 1:1) and is also the truth (John 14:6), then this means we must walk in the way of Jesus, striving to live the perfect life that He lived. Yes, we will fail and make mistakes, but when we give our best effort, serving God with all of our heart, we will be saved. Another reason we serve the Lord is what He has done for us. He has done so many great things for us, some we don’t even know about. He has sent His Son to die for our sins, He has given us life, He gives us a hope of heaven, and so much more. The best way we can give thanks and reverence is by giving our whole life to Him!!

One question often comes to mind when one is wondering about God’s existence: If God created everything in this world, who created God? It is a great question that is answered in Psalm 90:2. “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” For all of eternity, God has always been here. Psalm 93:2 also reads, “Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.” God’s throne has been and always will be everlasting. Psalm 102:27: “But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.” No one needed to create God because He is Lord over everything. Nothing overpowers Him. In Exodus 3:13-14, when Moses asks what God’s name is, He says that He is I AM. God is the Great I AM, which means everything consists in and of God Almighty. Without Him, nothing exists. He never needed to be created because nothing is more powerful than Him and has always been in existence.

Isaiah 43:1-4. One of the best parts of being a Christian is having a relationship with the God of the Universe. The Lord that created you and formed you has redeemed (forgiven) you from sin and wickedness and has called you by your name. The Lord claims in verse one that you are HIS. You belong to God!! Then, God promises to take care of us in all that we go through. He will always be with us no matter what we go through, and because of that, we have nothing to fear. Why should we fear when the Lord, our God, the Holy One of Israel, our Savior, is with us at all times? Finally, God explains that we, His children, are precious to Him and that He loves us. The King of kings, Lord of lords, Jehovah, God the Father, the only Potentate, loves YOU!! When we have a relationship with Jesus, we can stand firm in this truth, knowing that we are valued, loved, and taken care of because we serve the One and Only True and Living God.

Whenever we eat a huge meal, our bodies are stuffed and we feel like we couldn’t eat ever again. However, that time will come when we need to eat again. Now, let’s picture our choices as food. When we sin, we choose to do that because it is enticing and we think it will fulfill us. Whether it be swearing, drinking to get drunk, fornication, or whatever it may be, sin is the food that leaves us wanting more, always searching for something that truly fills us. There is something out there though that can fill us up, more like Someone: Jesus Christ. When we choose to live for Christ and live righteously, we are eating food that fully satisfies our souls. In John 6, we are told that Christ is the bread of life.
“35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
“47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. 48 I am that bread of life.”
“51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
“53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Jesus Christ is what we need in our lives to be fulfilled and saved. He is the food we can eat and never hunger again because He is the only One that can fill us up. Christ is the living bread, the food that will help us live forever in heaven. Jesus is what will satisfy us, not the sinful nature of this world. And when Jesus died, He gave up His flesh and blood for us to have eternal life. To honor His death, we partake of bread and juice every Sunday that represents His flesh and blood. When we do this, our souls are fulfilled and we are promised eternal life by our Savior. So what food will you eat? The sinful world, or the Living Bread?

Since Easter is just around the corner, let’s talk about the reason we celebrate this holiday. Today is considered Good Friday, the day that Jesus suffered, died, and was buried. All day Friday was Jesus tried, scourged, mocked, whipped, humiliated, and crucified. In Luke 23:44, we are told that it was the 6th hour and darkness was over the earth until the ninth hour, so it was late Friday night when He “gave up the ghost” (23:46). He was then taken down by Joseph of Arimathaea and placed in the tomb (23:50-53). On Saturday, Jesus laid in the tomb, was treated for His death, and was mourned by His disciples (23:54-56). Then, the best news ever came early Sunday morning as disciples of Jesus came to His sepulchre and found the stone rolled away, His body gone! Luke 24:1-3. The disciples were told that Jesus was risen from the dead by angels there (24:6). The Christ is alive!! This is the best news that we could ever hear. We are blessed through His death because He was the most perfect sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins, and through His resurrection, we are shown that death and the devil no longer have a hold on us. Jesus has made us free from sin and Satan. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, we receive freedom, grace, mercy, redemption, and a hope of salvation. Accept His gift of life and never get tangled in sin and bondage again! “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5:1.

“Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.” Psalm 63:3. This verse is so beautiful and full of truth. The God we serve is a merciful, grace giving, loving, kind, and forgiving God. There is no one above or like Him, for He is the Almighty Lord! So, it makes sense that His loving kindness is better than life itself. This life can be beautiful and fun, but it can also be difficult and sad. However, there is always a reason to rejoice, and that is because of God and His love! The happiness and sadness this world brings is all temporary, but the love of God lasts throughout eternity and beyond that. When you have a relationship with God, you get to know who He is and you receive all the blessings a friend of Jesus could get: peace, joy, comfort, rest, and love. The more time you spend with Him, the more you’ll realize that His love is better than life itself and will cause you to praise Him forever!

“(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)” Numbers 12:3. When the Israelites were in the wilderness, Moses was the one to talk to God and lead them. He spent much of his time talking to the Lord and listening to Him. When he was commanded to do something, he would do it because he knew who God was: I AM (Exodus 3:14). As Moses spent time with God, He built a relationship with Him. The more he obeyed the Lord, the more he leaned on Him. As he spent more time in His peaceful presence, He saw the Lord’s sovereignty and became more meek (gentle) and humble. Being a servant of the Lord did not puff Moses up or make Him selfish. When Moses soaked his entire being into God’s presence, he became the man God called him to be. We can do the same today by being the Lord’s servant. Spend time with Jesus in prayer, reading the Bible, singing, or any type of worship. This will take some discipline at first, but the more we serve and obey Christ, the more we’ll realize just how amazing He is and we’ll want to serve Him more with meekness and lowliness. And let’s remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:5 about the meek: “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” So let’s be like Moses by spending time with God and obeying Him. This will help us be meek and humble and closer to our Savior and that great inheritance.

“while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18. Something that can be hard to comprehend is the fact that every single thing we see is temporary. Our jobs, our homes, the objects in our homes, our bodies, and even this earth! And I’m not talking about after death, but after the Judgement. When Jesus returns, He is going to judge all of us based on if we lived for Him or not. Romans 2:5-6. This earth is going to be cast into the oven when that time comes, and we will either be with the earth at that time or with Jesus in heaven. Matthew 6:30. Now, this isn’t to scare you. There is hope of escaping the wrath of God. There are things that we can’t see, which include God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, heaven, hell, and our souls. Those are permanent. Where we will stay forever depends on our decision. Will you choose to live for the temporary, unfulfilling things of this life, or will you live for the eternal Christ who supplies your every need? Philippians 4:19. He loves your soul and wants you to be with Him forever, the choice is up to you🤍

“When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” - Mark 2:17. All of us at some point go to the doctor for a checkup. Sometimes, the doctor will tell us we are healthy and are free to go. Other times, we may have some problems and must return to the doctor multiple times. We have a need of this physician for our physical sicknesses, but we are also in need of a spiritual physician: Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Son of God who died for our sins. Through Him, we are saved and restored. However, so many people treat God like a checkup appointment. They go to Him, ask for forgiveness, maybe go to church a couple times, say they believe, and leave because they think they are restored. Jesus is not a checkup doctor; He is a forever physician. Every one of us are imperfect human beings, and we need our Lord and Savior at all times. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been serving Him for a month or 80 years, we still need God and cannot live without Him. Jesus didn’t come to help those who are righteous and perfect. He came to help the sick and needy, which is all of us. Don’t think that accepting God into your life means you don’t need Him anymore. We will always need Him. We are all sinners, and through His grace and mercy, we are called to repentance and salvation.

“28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. 29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.” Exodus 34:28-29. In this passage, Moses is coming back down to the Israelites from being with God to write the Ten Commandments for forty days and forty nights (for the second time, since he broke the first set in Exodus 32:19). When he came back, his face was shining. When the Israelites saw this, they were scared. It was so bright that Moses had to cover his face with a vail. This time that Moses spent with God changed him and how people saw him. This is how it should be for all of us. When we read the Bible, we are to spend time in God’s peaceful presence. When we are finished reading, we are not to forget everything we read, but to be a doer of the Word as it says in James 1:23-25. In Matthew 5:16, we are told to be the light of the world so that we may direct everyone to Jesus. The Word of God should change and transform us in such a way that people notice how bright we are. Are your actions and words a result of the Scripture, shining before everyone? Or do you just read and forget what you’ve read? Let us all be like Moses and shine so bright because of the Good News of Jesus!!

“2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?” Matthew 16:2-3. I’m sure you’ve heard of the phrase, “Pink in morning, sailors take warning” and “Pink at night, sailors delight.” Well, this is exactly what Jesus is talking about here. He explains that we discern the weather by the face of the sky, but for some reason, we can’t see all the signs of the times around us. By signs of the times, I mean the things that show us that Jesus is returning soon (read Matthew 24:35-51). We see sin more and more, everywhere and in all things. The devil’s evil works are being accepted as normal and good, and his lies are being taught as truth. Everywhere we look, the truth, the Word of God, is being accepted and lived out by fewer each day. In Matthew 24:44, Jesus tells us to be ready because He is returning at an hour that we won’t expect Him to come. He could come right now, or in 20 years. Only God knows when Jesus will come back, but do you really want to risk it? Do you want to continue living in sin and with Satan, saying that you’ll get to Jesus later, when He could return right now and you would have to suffer eternal damnation? I’m not trying to scare anyone into salvation, but I just want everyone to realize the weight of Judgement day. Jesus Christ could come back at any second. Do you have Him in your life? If not and you want to live for Jesus, follow the plan of salvation below.

“17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19. Jesus loves you. “Yeah, yeah, I know. I’ve heard that a million times.” Okay, but do you understand how much He loves you? Do you know that when you have faith in the Lord that Christ will dwell in your heart? And when Christ dwells in your heart, you become rooted and grounded in love. Love becomes a significant aspect of your life when you follow Jesus, and the more you follow Him, the more you understand “the breadth, and length, and depth, and height” of the love that Jesus has for you. While we try to understand the depth of His love for us more, we soon realize that it is so great that it surpasses knowledge. It is the only love that can satisfy us and fill us with the Holy Ghost. Jesus loves you so much that He gave up everything so that we could have it all! He took our debt and put it on His tab. He exchanged the torture, pain, and suffering that we deserved with mercy, grace, and redemption. We don’t deserve anything that Jesus gives us because we’re so sinful, but we are His children, His creation. He wants to live with you in heaven forever, but you need to accept His love and grace into your life first. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or who you are. JESUS LOVES YOU.
