Buck and Chimney's 118 TikTok Account

something i've thought about for a while but reinforced by the video Kenny made of Oliver "Daddy Long Legs" Stark, my headcanons of Chimney and Buck's TikTok account for the 118

both of them claim to have come up with the idea, when they were both scrolling through the app and were talking about making one for the 118 to promote fire safety and what firefighters/paramedics do, etc

buck likes to do thirst traps (at the beginning) and when chimney becomes Mr. April, he joins in on it

they do segments with the other 118 members, with bobby as the chef and since he's the captain he gets pranked on the most in the videos, hen and chimney do a lot of paramedic stuff, and eddie refuses to be on camera so there's a section called "where's eddie?" that buck and chimney try to do to get him on camera.

it doesn't take long for people to start shipping buck and chimney together

hen finds that hilarious when buck and chimney complain about it and soon the 118 starts making fun of them - maddie included

chimney makes a video with maddie saying that she's his girlfriend and that she's the mother of his child and that he's never going to be with buck because maddie is it for him, etc etc and the comments are all "fake" "lol can't believe he hired an actress to pretend to be his girlfriend" "wait she kinda looks like buck???" "does buck know you're cheating on him, chimney?" and all of that

eventually they just choose to ignore it

then one day chimney and hen do a "where's eddie" video where they're hiding from clipboard!buck and catch eddie smiling and laughing at buck ordering him around and then suddenly "buddie" shippers start to become a thing

this is going to be so controversial but shannon was the love of eddie's life. it is okay to acknowledge that while still acknowledging the depth of love he has/will have for buck. eddie and shannon's relationship was messy and imperfect and fraught with tension and, to be honest, i'm not even really sure shannon loved him. i'm not really sure he wasn't just some guy she got knocked up by and was forced to coexist with — a friend, but not much more. but the love was real for eddie. the love is real for eddie. when we talk about "the loves of our lives," what we are talking about beyond the big, happy, mushy feelings are loves that we define our lives and ourselves by. what has defined eddie more than his successes and failures as shannon's husband? what has defined eddie more than this massive knot of feeling in his chest—good and bad—that he holds toward her? she is the love of his life, and buck can be a significant love too, but you don't get to pick and choose who defines and rewrites you just because something sweeter and more healing comes along. we will never know if eddie was the love of shannon's life because her story will always be one that remains untold. but for better or for worse, shannon diaz is one of the three major life events (war and his upbringing/relationship with his parents being the other two) that created eddie diaz and any future discussion about the two of them, their marriage, and the layers of eddie's trauma in the wake of her death has to be centered on that fact.

cheers to buck for knowing exactly how to approach eddie about what was happening with kim. even with his trepidation, he brought with him a sense of space that allowed eddie to be vulnerable enough to voice out the fact that he's worried about himself too

there was no judgment, only love

truly, no one knows eddie diaz as much as evan buckley does

I’m still processing the Eddie of it all but the Buck of it all is on my mind because Evan “I have been Ana” Buckley has also been Kim in some way when you think about it - a reminder for someone of who they lost. Obviously, different circumstances and vastly different in how they’re treated but it’s nice to see Buck say “I’m worried about you” instead of “I have been Kim” because I think it’s a subtle way of showing that Buck has processed and moved on from that trauma - that his coma dream and that healing arc within has allowed him to take that part of himself off his sleeve.

Pride and Prejudice is actually hilarious cause Elizabeth goes to the Netherfield Ball with the purpose of finding out what Darcy's closest friends think about Wickham, and when they all tell her Darcy is a really nice guy and Wickham is a liar she literally goes "Mr. Darcy has somehow managed to trick all of his closest friends into thinking he's a good person but I know something about him that they don't (that he sucks)"
