Thinking of emerald duo and the banger of a line that was "for you the world, Phil" that was such an insane thing to say. They were THE duo. Nobody could rival what their characters had. No other character duo had this deep of understanding like they did.

Before the doomsday event when techno gave him his only totem of undying to Phil and telling him to drink invisibility pots away from the battle ground. Phil letting himself be used by Techno as the last resort at the drop of a hat as his hidden blade and Techno never allowing for such a situation to occur. Techno trusting Phil with a compass of his location after losing all trust in other characters. Phil trying to aim for the falling anvil with a bow. Techno lashing out at the possibility that they hurt Phil while he's being sent to his execution because there is no world that Phil would willingly give out his base location. Their log cabin connected with a bridge. Iconic. Techno telling Phil that his code name should be Zephyrus not Daedalus because he is so much more than his son's killer. Phil seeing Techno as a kind man in a world that sees him as a living threat. Techno always assuring others that Phil is very capable despite his wings being damaged beyond repair. It was like if you had a target on your back from one, you best believe the other did too.

Thinking a lot ab this one post i saw a good while ago about a HC of Mrs Winters being Hispanic and I’ve been wondering if Ashe had her Quinceanera,, wondering if they had the money, the time. If Ashe begged Mark to let her have one despite the fact her mom was supposed to be the one to plan it with her. Wondering if she spent months planning it, spending all the time she could to get everything perfect only to realize she didn’t have anyone to invite. She’d have to dance with the picture of her mother held to her chest with only her dad there to watch. If even him.

I wonder if she never got to have one, in the end. If she even did anything for her 15th… was Mark even there? Or was he out on a job? I wonder if she sat in her room the entire day, looking through the collections of pictures of dresses and makeup and flowers and set ups. If she blared the music in her room and did her makeup with tears ruining it, put on the nicest dress she had, if she danced by herself in her room, picture of her mom against her chest. Picture of Mark set up to watch her, because he was away for work.

Do y’all think she spent the entire day alone? With nothing but a happy birthday text from Mark cause he couldn’t get back home?

trying out a new note-taking system. beforehand i was taking notes just as the episode went on, pausing from time to time, but now im going to try pausing only at ten minute intervals and then writing down the important stuff

OHH THAT'S A GOOD IDEA TOO !! i think most of my notes ended up being me after finishing an episode just. staring at the wall in shock and then screaming hundreds of words into my notes app

I think it kind of ended up being a situation similar (at least vibes-wise) to the intro of TLOU. if that even makes sense.

like. I don't think they'd have a lot of money-- mark probably still tried to get ashe something nice; but it wasn't like a whole gown. in fact, maybe mark gave ashe an old dress of his wife's.

and he probably didn't have time to celebrate with her, ashe didn't have anyone to invite, the entire day ended up being kind of shit. you couldn't even really call it a quinceanera.

but mark was home by the end of it, even if he was late. and they were still stand-offish with each other because their relationship was still so damaged. but mark tried.

mark tried, at the very least.

and i think they probably sat on the back porch and played some music together. maybe mark told ashe a story or two about her mother. and i think ashe could've convinced mark to join them in dancing with one or two songs.

and for a second they probably just. pretended they were a normal father and daughter. that they'd go inside and ashe's mom would be making her favorite meal for her birthday, and mark would be getting ready for a normal job the next day. no fighting superheroes and getting up to crime. for just a moment, tricksters were adjectives about people, not names of otherworldly beings that took people far too soon.

for a second, they pretended. y'know?

and the next day they probably went back to normal; never talked about it again. but whenever the songs they played that night came on mark would smile just the smallest bit to himself and maybe the tension in the house would ease up the smallest bit.

i think the songs grew on him over time, but hearing them after ashe was gone felt like a punch to the gut. i mean. imagine him like. sitting in a prison cell and one of the songs comes on the radio. he had to remember one of the few times everything felt somewhat okay since ashe's mom died. and he has to remember how he's lost everything twice over now.
