It’s taken me awhile of very careful thought, but I’ve decided to completely leave Tumblr. I’ve had fantastic memories and made some very dear friends while here, but I don’t believe I’m in a place where I feel like I can write. So for my own health both mental and physical I’ve decided to leave permanently.
I hope all of you continue to have happy amazing lives.

His gaze was a steady line into the road, the man still as a statue. Silence was easier for him, if his lack of conversational skills had anything to say about it. Silence made it easier to hear someone coming, and easier to clear his thoughts.
And he wasn’t used to anyone wanting to visit him. “It’s the vantage point,” he answered blandly. “And the quiet, yeah.”
“If you don’t have any reason to be here, then yeah. Go away.”
Roxy was used to being told to go away. Her general demeanor tended to get on some people’s nerves and she was self aware enough to recognize it. That didn’t mean she intended to change herself to fit the opnions of those around her. So instead of being offended, she laughed. Of course she had told him he could tell her to leave him alone.
“Yes, sir. I hear and obey.” Had he been not been focused exclusively on the road she might have saluted. As it was he probably wouldn’t notice. “See y’around probably.” And without she simply turned and left without any further argument. What good would it do anyway?

I can't get back to sleep. So I started reading about local anesthetic resistance. Apparently it's a highly disputed topic among physicians over if it exists. I’m glad my surgeon believed me about how lidocaine doesn’t work even if he had never heard about it before.
The few studies pointed initially to being related to Ehlers-Danos syndrome until it cropped up in people without it. One doctor studied one patient and found her mother and sister suffered from the same resistance. Turns out they had a genetic mutation/defect in the sodium channels that the drugs use to block pain signals to the brain.
Some people who have this resistance can overcome it by using a different anesthetic instead of the standard lidocaine, others are resistant to all locals. This could be why my second surgery had the bupivocaine not work as effectively as the first time. Or the surgeon just missed the nerves.
