many trans people have deadnames but some also have ghostnames. names you used during a temporary part of your journey and then left behind when they had served their purpose, or names you secretly wanted to be called at some point in your life but hesitated to make your own, or names that somehow felt familiar to you every time you heard them but just never became yours. names that linger around you in limbo.

#i always feel a bit left out in discussions of name journeys #since i basically just picked hannah amd stuck with/was forced to stick with it #since i was scared my parents would judge me or give me shit for changing it. they were the type to try to talk me out of being trans #cowards really. too afraid to just beat me. so instead they just made it very clear that me being trans was weird and discomforting to them #in recent times i have withstood so much that the old hannah is largely... dormant #i do not know if i can go back to being her #nor if i want to. i don't mind being stray. my old self again #but it'd be a shame if i couldn't at least express hannah alongside myself #i feel like she never really got a chance to live anywhere but the internet. the only place she could be ''cute'' #ah well.
