honestly i think "Is Historical Fiction Morally Reprehensible RPF" is such a funny take because in my experience the most common complaint i see about historical fiction outside of very online communities is that the characters AREN'T an accurate enough representation of their real life counterparts. "he would not fucking say that" yells historian who's dedicated their entire life to studying the actual real life guy they made a tv show about.

one of my favourite fantastical details in hannibal is just how how unbelievable will graham's classical beauty is like sure that man is a fishing fbi loner nerd?. love it because it adds to the gothic romance of it all watching this dude with his face carved by angels, lose his mind looking like a horny oil painting during every horrific scene. honestly by the dolarhyde calls him 'not very handsome' and we cut to hugh dancy, voted the prettiest girl at oxford, it's just funny
