Bent on world domination, Dr. Neo Cortex has determined that the only way he can accomplish his goal is to create an army faithful only to him. So, he decides to brainwash the local animals and has selected Crash to be their leader. With the help of Dr. Nitrus Brio, they create 2 machines - the Evolvo-Ray gives the animals superior knowledge and the Cortex Vortex is supposed to make them allegiant only to Dr. Cortex - but it doesn't work right. Instead of being devoted geniuses, the animals become raving lunatics. While each attempt has been a failure, his greatest failure is Crash Bandicoot because Crash realizes that what Cortex is doing is wrong. Cortex becomes so frustrated with the crazed bandicoot that he banishes Crash to another island. Now Crash must get back to Dr. Cortex's lab to rescue his girlfriend, Tawna, who is scheduled to be Cortex's next experiment. by Broken Circus

If this footage is of any use to you and you want to use it, feel free; but please consider leaving a link back here if you do. A few notes: - This was literally the first time I'd played this game. So, it took a bit of sussing out. - This was played on a Windows 98 computer with a Pentium II. I suspect this game was looking for a slower CPU, because the controls were clumsy as balls - you can see that I struggled quite a bit with the turning speed. - I had to nip into the Controls and the Help sections because it felt like I was missing something. Turns out that to destroy the ammo factory, you have to blow up both the machine AND the camera. - No idea why I couldn't collect kilobytes in the second level, because (as the help file confirmed) I was collecting from files that had KB available... Now, it's a pretty old game, and the pathfinding...well, it leaves a lot to be desired sometimes. Sims constantly get stuck on stairs, moan about walls being in the way, and should they collide with another Sim in a doorway, spend several minutes doing that awkward polite "no, you first" dance. And sometimes they just give up completely, as was the case here. This robot got stuck trying to come back into the house, and the cat wanted to go outside. Neither of them had any idea what to do, so they just got caught in this loop with the cat meow meow meowing over and over. This would've gone on forever had I not intervened... So, while this video is a bit of an exaggeration, it's...actually not that much of an exaggeration, really. Check your local Retro-Bit supplier - https://j.mp/3HYLAcY A couple of notes: The arcade version I showed was the World version. Whether that makes any difference, I'm not sure. I noticed the names were different. For example, the Terminator boss at the end of the level was called Cue Ball in the arcade, whereas the SNES release calls him Parcs. Similarly, the life counter shows Flame in the arcade, but Rosa on the SNES. Also, there's blood in the arcade. And better animations, but that's to be expected. A while back, there was a post on the Big Box PC Game Collectors group that mentioned you could still buy these games from the Adventure Soft online store. So, I took one for the team and bought some stuff from them. Here's what you get! (No pinball, tragically.) After watching this video back, my thinking is that these are new old stock, originally produced when these games were still...well, new.
