The more I see on my dash about how much more sense it makes for Sam and Tucker to be endgame the more annoyed I am that it didn't happen.

Also My two cents on how Sam and Tucker make more sense as a couple than Sam and Danny is that the outcome (Happy couple with half-dead best friend third wheel) mirrors the college trio but would show how much Vlad and Danny differ from each other despite their similar circumstances. Where Vlad becoming a halfa ended the college trio's friendship, the everlasting trio's bond grew stronger as Sam and Tucker stuck by Danny's side and did their best to help him out, so where Jack and Maddie hooked up and Vlad resented it, Danny would probably be surprised at first but be happy for them.

also thinking about danny finally accepting vlad as an UNCLE when hes a grown man. and only because vlad has gone full hermit mode and kinda gave up and danny has to do weekly wellness checks on him to make sure hes not wasting away. because of that they become Cautious Friends and eventually danny says "you're not my dad, but you're still my uncle" and vlad (drunk off his ass) cries all over him

Obsession

The thing is this. For all his friends teased him about a protection obsession, for all they poked at him for his constant inability to let things go without helping… he didn’t think that was it. Of course he would step up every time, but it wasn’t a pulling, consuming need, it was guilt, knowing the ghosts were his fault in the end.

If you asked Danny, he’d say his obsession was the stars, the world just past our planet’s atmosphere. A place so vast and so amazing that he couldn’t help but pause and stare sometimes. He’d say his obsession was his curiosity, his wonder, his desire to simply know.

But if he was honest with himself; truly, actually honest… that wasn’t it either.

They say your obsession forms by your last thought when you die. Your last thought in your mind, in your heart, the last thing you want before it ends. And if it’s powerful enough, if you want it enough, and there’s enough energy to power it…. You’ll become a ghost.

Danny’s last thought wasn’t about protecting.

It wasn’t even about his love of space.

When Danny had died, 14 and isolated in a machine of his parent’s making, his last thought had been not unlike that of the many others who are lost too young and too soon.

‘I just want to live.’

And when there’s enough energy, and the desire is strong enough… the last thought before death can be powerful enough to determine a ghost’s existence.

And all Danny wanted was to live.

So when he stumbled out of the machine, hair white and eyes glowing,

Danny Fenton lived.

dp/dc stuff having danny "adopted" by other characters is so annoying to me. the Emotional Core of so much of danny phantom's story is that his family LOVES him and he loves them back and he's afraid that will change if they know what he really is. like. thats the tragedy of danny fenton as a character i thought we all agreed. thats one of the first things people latch onto when they think about this show. he doesnt need to be adopted he already has a family and he canonically very much would not like to be adopted by anyone else. like what 😭
