I should clarify, since I’ve mentioned my position; that I don’t respect any beliefs, but that I respect people’s right to hold them, a few times recently.
This view isn’t exclusively in the realm of religious beliefs but that’s where it most frequently ends up, so let me lay out my stance on religion.
If you believe in a god/gods, a supreme being, an omni-being, a prime mover .etc…cool. I don’t but you do. That’s a neutral position to have because it has no bearing beyond the belief of lack thereof.
But what people believe beyond that yes/no dichotomy is where it gets problematic for me. Because your belief in its existence doesn’t inform your beliefs in how you should view or behave in the world. It’s the other stuff.
So now it’s no longer neutral. What you believe you’re commanded/obliged/instructed to do in the real world I cohabit with you has effects. And they can be positive or negative -I’d argue more frequently negative- and so they impact me and other people.
And so I will judge you -positively or negatively- on the behaviours and actions you take on that basis. Which, unless you want to go full pantheistic, will be derived from your initial belief.
I don’t care if you believe in a god. In this moment I will not be euphoric. But everything that comes after that initial belief? I will judge them. If that judgement’s for better or worse depends on you and your religion.
I’ll still respect your right to believe anything and everything. But I will also reserve the right to call you an evil sack of shit if needs be.

So we’re retiring the Biden Buries Dogs meme and replacing it with Kristi Noem now right?

Bad response. I know about 20 different ways the Ben Shapiros and Jordan Petersons of the world would “destroy” that…because it’s a shitty response.
Good Response: “What tool put them in the privileged position to do those things Petey?”

I find it hard to talk about Ireland’s problems here so here goes.
Last November a man attacked a group of primary school children in Dublin City centre. When information came out the man was originally from Algeria (naturalised in 2013) there were riots in the city.
Anti-immigration and anti-asylum seeker sentiment has been festering for years. Fuelled by failed government action on the housing crisis the far right, with support from more established groups in the UK and across the EU have been using those failures to target immigrants and asylum seekers, blaming the government for open border policies (we’re an island) instead of those failures on housing, such as addressing the foreign vulture funds snapping up the majority of new builds as rental properties. Because…racism.
The months since the November riots have seen an increase in protests (occasionally violent) at, and arson attacks on properties known to be or even wrongly suspected to be, earmarked for asylum seeker’s accommodation.
Gardaí (police) response initially was to take a hands off approach, respecting right to protest while denying them the chance to play victim. And initially I applauded this stance, but now it’s clear that it’s failed and all it’s done is embolden the far right to go further.
I still have hope. The far-right hasn’t been able to secure a single seat in the Dáil (parliament) or the EU elections, and so I, maybe naively, still think they represent a tiny minority. But we have both local and European elections coming up so we’ll see.
That’s it. Just wanted to give a quick breakdown. I’ll be trying my best to make more posts on the current state of Ireland going forward, diving into more detail and deeper analysis.

Having people with male socialisation in womens spaces is a rollback of rights, yes. It pushes away orthodox women of different faiths from using those single sex spaces.
None of those things reference any single human right.
You failed at the assignment & you should feel bad for putting such a rambling, incoherent ask in my inbox.

Bringing this back with the whole Moscow Marge thing burning through the GOP at the moment.
There were calls for the Russian ambassador to Ireland to be expelled, and the government’s response was “Well…you can’t achieve peace if you close the door.”
How’s that working out? We still frequently hear from political and media figures about what Ukraine has to do to achieve peace, all things none of them would accept for their nations.
Putin only has to do one thing.
Withdraw.

Can someone help me out here?
I’ve been trying to figure out what women’s human right(s) is/are being taken away by trans-inclusive policies and self-ID legislation.
Is the right to vote being taken back? Funny how all the redpillers and tradwives actually calling for that are also hugely anti-trans. The right to own property? That’s the “What is a woman” Matt Walshes of the world. The right to bodily autonomy? That’s the anti-trans Christian conservatives.
Coz I keep seeing TERFs and transphobes saying this, and I’ve been wracking my brain to no avail.

I’m gonna sell my soul for a hot minute & agree with the Andrew Tates & Jordan Petersons on one thing.
Society has failed men.
But not in the way they talk about.
Society changed. We rightly decided that over half of the human population deserved the same rights, opportunities and privileges as the other. And so we told girls & women that. We told them to strive for that.
We told boys and men nothing. But it wasn’t because of feminism/wokeism/cultural Marxism/whatever -ism they’re using this week. It was because of patriarchy.
The world changed and we told boys & men to carry on. We didn’t teach them how to adapt masculinity to the new reality because why would we? Boys & men were doing fine before the world changed. So we didn’t. And now we’ve a load of boys & men equipped for the world of 100yrs ago trying to navigate this one.
That’s why I agree with the Tates & Petersons on ONE thing.
We failed boys and men. And we continue to fail them because the Tates and Petersons would rather try & force the world back 100yrs than bring our boys into this world like we should’ve done in the first place.

I think the MAGAs might be onto something though.
Clearly the Dems stole the last election.
And now that they’re in power they’re going to steal the 2024 election even more easily to keep Trump out.
So like…why even bother voting for Trump if you know it’ll be stolen?
Just don’t vote and make America great again.

I cannot stress enough how the European values Vs. Islam narrative is a recipe for disaster. Coz no matter how much the proponents couch it in philosophical language, alongside cultural & sociological norms they are absolutely presenting it as Christianity Vs. Islam.
I’ve said it before…I don’t respect any beliefs. You believe the Earth is flat? Cool 👌 You’re wrong but I respect your right to believe that. Theistic beliefs don’t get special treatment.
The answer must not be; this religion is better than yours so it’s best for our society.
The answer must be; Why the fuck are you talking about religion outside places of worship? We don’t want any of them in policy making.
Christianity was dragged kicking & screaming to this point…don’t let it get a foot on the slippery slope coz there’s a scarier boogeymen you think you need it to fight.

The non-US political figures/commentators who…
1) Cultishly fawned over Trump in ‘16 & ‘20, then…
2) Had an…
Tumblr media
moment after he lost in ‘20 and went full anti-reality, fascist, whackadoodle, and then…
3) Have now gone back to licking his boots coz he might win and it’s more important to own the libs.
They’re the lowest form of life on the planet. The Fox News/Newsmax.etc wankers who peddle whatever are at least consistent.
I’ve honestly got more respect for the dictators who just saw him as a useful moron in and out of power than I do for these weather vanes.

The same ppl in the UK & Ireland stoking the fires of the culture war, and protesting drag queen story time (and occasionally just regular story time), 100% take their kids to pantos around XMas.
If you don’t know what pantos are, they’re satirical retellings of plays/fairytales…where men dressed in excessively flamboyant drag (as well as risqué humour) are a huuuuuge part of the whole shtick.
And they’ve been a staple of “family-friendly”, mainstream entertainment in the British Isles for about two centuries.
Also; remember when Marjorie Taylor Greene’s husband was found out to have worn drag on live, daytime TV when kids would’ve been watching? But that was totally different because…reasons.
