Had a lot of fun writing about beautifully inclined serial killers! My problematic faves.

The mirrored eyes of the secret saints that adorn the windows of All Christs’ Chapel look down on those who scurry through the alleys, burdened with secrets and candles of their own…
After a month of work, it’s finally done! My entry to @failbettergames for the Fallen London Hallowmas Competition!
As part of the “craft” category, here’s a stained-glass Hallowmas visitor! I tried to capture the aesthetic of Fallen London, as well as the imagery of Hallowmas. (The candle flame and eyes are made of mirrors. It felt fitting.)

Remembering is like constructing and then traveling again through a space. We are already talking about architecture. Memories are built as a city is built.

It is its own weird brand of dystopia that a whitewashed movie celebrating revolt against a police state will earn a bajillion dollars in the same week that people protesting excessive authoritarian violence and injustice are forcibly suppressed and given racist treatment by a largely unsympathetic public

I think of how the mystics read
by the light of their own bodies.
What a world of darkness that must have been
to read by the flaming hearts
that turn into heaps of ash on the altar,
how everything in the end is made
equal by the wind.

"Makeup should enhance your natural beauty, not obscure it. Use subtle highlights to accent the ravenous hunger in your eyes and bring out the extraordinary size of your submandibular venom glands."
"Your daily positive affirmation: today I am thankful for being alive and blessed with rows upon rows of teeth that shear right through muscle and bone."
"Conceal your dark circles. Conceal your bright chevrons and your dusky stripes. The humans must not suspect what you are."
"New research shows that ideal femininity encompasses a lamia’s beauty, a cyclops’ strength, a hydra’s deadliness, a Fury’s heartlessness, a harpy’s swiftness, and a sphinx’s love of feasting on less intelligent creatures. Be a chimera that cannot be contained!"
"Aim to be described as "inexplicably eerie," "unsettlingly off," and "I’m not sure what she looks like, I could never keep my eyes on her face long enough to see."
If you are not aware of the “Beauty by H.P. Lovecraft” Facebook page, you are missing the time of your life.
