Hi Mr Gaiman,
My school is making me do a powerpoint on a topic, and I chose Good Omens, but my teacher is saying I don't have permission to use any of the images, so I thought I'd ask you first. So could I possibly?
Astarion in Early Access: "Hahaha yes I'm very charming and deceptive and evil and sex is so much fun and I really don't care about anyone."
Astarion in the Full Game: "I haven't had bodily autonomy in 200 years and I've forgotten how to be intimate with someone beyond using it to lure people to their deaths and I have so much trauma regarding sex and I seduced you because it's what I've had to do to survive for literal centuries and I needed you to be on my side but I wasn't supposed to fall in love with you but you're so kind and amazing that I fell anyway and I'm terrified of real emotions but I want *us* to be real because you deserve it and I really care about you but I need you to help me because this is all so new and I'm so scared but I want this to work and I-"
Me, going through the romance options: Lae'zel is hot, I'll try it out. Ooh, Karlach has a great personality I love her. Shadowheart's got some issues but she's grown on me. Wyll is interesting because I feel like I don't see characters like him that often. Astarion's got plenty of angst, I like it. I'm curious as to how Halsin's bear form would work...ugh how do I choose.
Gale, eating my boots and infodumping about his cat: Do you have a good place where I can die so that I won't murder innocents I'd appreciate it
Nuclear is superb endgame energy crisis solution. Try to have 0.5 million city surviving on wind/solar only. I DARE YOU.
If you doesn't have good place for efficient hydro, atom is your way to go.
You either pollute with coal and oil, or you go hydro/nuclear, sometimes geo.
Surviving Mars
You want to sustain your big colony? Atom is the only way. It needs conservation and hired crew (like in real life FFS), but it will give you multiplier of energy provided by wind or solar.
Again: try to have like 10 domes on wind/solar. I DARE YOU.
And finally, you need to build endgame energy source, which is something-something-solar-energy-fusion-something (I really don't want to load THAT save right now).
And if we leave "city builder" genre in peace (I really don't play much modern city builders, I usually have no energy sources, or kinetic force of my population of beavers):
Satisfactory
If your biggest problem is energy production: Atom is endgame. Atom is life.
There are byproducts of atom fuel production and usage, but - GUESS WHAT - you can reuse them!
We had beautiful factory working mostly on nuclear in stage 4 of space elevator. There is basically no way to efficiently fuel stuff like particle colliders without nuclear power.
And Satisfactory is the definition of "anti-planet-saving" game, your goal is to destroy nature with oil and coal pollution :D
so, no. Not true at all. Give me at least ONE city builder (except sim city, but it is either old or shit) where nuclear is treated like that. I DARE YOU.
That's for you @smimon
Hello I am generic city builder game. You must power your city somehow-- what's that? You want to use nuclear power? Okay, but, nuclear power is unstable, resource-consuming, and polluting. This is definitely how nuclear power works. Also there is no safe way to deal with nuclear waste, definitely not, which by the way is definitely canisters of glowing green goo that get produced by the truckload every day. Now why don't you use hydroelectric, which definitely has no environmental impact whatsoever, or maybe wind and solar, which are definitely cheap, plentiful, and universal solutions. I am a good game.
I told my friend “Hey, Y’know that author, Neil Gaiman? He’s on Tumblr.” My friend just asked “…Why..?” I simply responded with “He kinda just chills here and we can’t get him to leave.”
Long story short, my friend compared you to a stray cat.
There’s a lot of excellent examples of the difference between a million and a billion, but here’s my new personal favorite from a conversation I had today:
A million minutes ago was April 2021, the height of the COVID pandemic.
A billion minutes ago was November 121 CE, the height of the Roman Empire.
