the fact that Spahr is 30ish never stops being just nuts, every time I think about it it's just going through the stages of grief all over again, it is always such an incredible ordeal to remember and think about how Spahr is only about 30

💜🏳️‍🌈💕 for Critical Role for the unpopular asks pls
unpopular opinion ask game
💜: Which character is way hotter than everyone else seems to think?
Esmer Balenta is described as gorgeous, and we all slept on that. Esmer is hot. We need to remember this. She has jet black skin and white hair. She is tall. She wears steel toe spiked leather boots. She makes explosives. There is more than one bombshell to be found in Finders Takers. The fact that she isn't THE hot girl NPC of C3 is a crime.
🏳️‍🌈: Which character who is commonly headcanoned as queer doesn't seem queer to you?
I operate under "everyone is bi unless otherwise stated or I decide something else", so this generally does not come into play for me and I cannot think of any example after many minutes of thought here. I sometimes have disagreements with fanon about specifics, but that is not the question.
💕: What is an unpopular ship that you like?
Fjord/Molly is THE superior Molly ship. I'm not into it as a long-term, lasting thing, but it would've been a great and DISASTROUS dalliance. I never understood why people are not more into this beautiful dumpster fire. See also: answering this question for C3 specifically.

for Midst: 💜 (😌) and also 📖 specifically cuz I wanna know which episode of this incredibly economical show you think is least load-bearing
unpopular opinion ask game
💜: Which character is way hotter than everyone else seems to think?
To quote Sara: Imogen Loxlee is a CATCH.
Now, because I know you sent this on purpose after our exchange on the post where I said Imogen CritRole is NOT as hot as everyone seems to think, I'll also say that the women in purple and yellow in Imelda's brunch group, presumably Desiree (fancy shoes) and Lucille (process of elimination) are also hot.
📖: If you had to remove one book episode from the series, which would you choose?
I'm taking this as wholesale removal, cannot transfer or shift any of its contents into another episode, but subsequent episodes are altered slightly to account for stuff like "so it's been mentioned before that—" to properly accommodate that the information is NOW brand new. This is tough because the series is still ongoing, and things are being continuously revisited and paid off all the time.
I'd go with 1.09: Convert. The episode establishes Concord confirming the cabaret is the center of the Breach via the arrival of the stealth ship, how Valor accounts work, and Imelda REALLY pressuring Weepe to open an account. I do think that losing Concord and Imelda here would fuck the pacing a little bit, but I don't think it'll fuck things TOO much because Concord recaps everything in 1.12: Coda only a couple of episodes later (after a brief appearance in 1.10: Trust) and we do see Imelda in 1.05: Missions and 1.15: Accounting (Convert being the halfway point between there to remind us that this subplot is ongoing) and she's already laying it on THICK and Weepe is very much considering it already in Missions. The pacing and tension will be a little uneven if you remove Convert, but I think it's manageable and not as much of a hurdle compared to taking out other episodes. We'd very much lose something in terms of pacing and rhythm and tension and you'd definitely feel it missing, but I don't think it's insurmountable.
I did also almost consider 1.04: Fold, but we lose the Lark and Fuze tension and the Fuze and Tzila relationship, and those are much bigger hits to the pacing and emotional continuity.

We did already know this based on the fact that he bagged both Lark and Harry, but the latest appendix really is just rubbing it in our faces that if there’s one thing Sherman’s got in abundance it’s game. He incurred caenum for getting too much pussy + dick. they needed to take his ego down a peg. He sold out Lark because he was tired of being the most sought after person on Midst. The sex appeal of the Black Candle Cabaret? That was all him baby. And he even cares lovingly for his daughter and braids her hair? Absolutely unfuckwithable. Where do I sign up.

💛 for unpopular opinion
unpopular opinion ask game
💛: What is a popular ship you just can't get behind, and why?
I love that this is the only question on the list that requires you to actually explain your choice.
All the obvious ones for C3 are actually rather popular opinions, so I won't go for those, and I've been vocal over the years about my takes about popular C2 PC/PC ships that I cannot get into. So, that's all low-hanging fruit.
That leaves me with few POPULAR ships, as I've yapped a lot about many of the truly popular ones in the past, so I have to choose from simply common ones, not unpopular but not popular.
I've never really said this one: Caleb/Astrid/Eadwulf and all three of its subcomponents as like a ship ship, present-day like actually angling for them to get back together or maybe it can be revisited and be shaped into something workable thing (as opposed to a thing that happened in their past that still weighs on them).
I just... it feels so looking-backward in a character arc that is about not holding on to what could have been, to clinging to what you had once in the hopes that you can still have it, that maybe if you had a chance to redo it that it'll be good and whole. Or something, I'm not really articulating it well here. I feel like that dynamic, forged out of desperation for a comfort in a terrible moment, is something that is best something they all move on past. Caleb especially, as someone who's story this is. It is best left in the past.

For the unpopular opinion ask game: 💕 & 💀, for Campaign 3?
unpopular opinion ask game
💕: What is an unpopular ship that you like?
Folks, we GOTTA start talking about Eshteross/Prudaj. He asked to be interred beside her. Like, come on.
💀: If you had to choose one major character to die, who would you choose?
I said it in September 2022, and it attracted into my inbox exponentially more suicide baiting, slurs, pathologizing, and vicious personal attacks than the rest of my years-long career in this fandom combined—a feat because I was a loudmouth about discourse during C2, and people never got that level of nasty—but I stand by it: Laudna.
I said back then that I did not necessarily DEMAND her to remain dead but that there was potential interesting narrative to be had if she did. My opinion remains unchanged. I am curious about what the campaign would've been like if she remained dead after Otohan had killed her.

Elisabeth de Caraman-Chimay, Comtesse Greffulhe (1860–1952) made this dress famous by posing in it for the photographer Nadar in 1896. The museum also possesses the photographs made at the time, in which the elegant countess opted for being photographed in back view so as to highlight the slimness of her waist: this close-fitting 'princess line' dress – there were no seams at waist level – and the sinuous lines of the lily plants accentuate the impression of tallness and slenderness.
One of the leading figures on the Paris social scene – not only for her rank and sovereign elegance, but also for her culture and intelligence – Comtesse Greffulhe was a significant source of inspiration for Marcel Proust, who used her as the model for the Duchesse de Guermantes in Remembrance of Things Past. She was also the cousin of Robert de Montesquiou, who drew on her for some of his poems, including a sonnet whose closing line Beau lis qui regardez avec vos pistils noirs ('Beautiful lilies gazing with your black pistils') doubtless refers to this dress. The bertha collar, whose original form was altered, certainly during its owner's lifetime, could be turned up to form bat's wings; a bat being Montesquiou's emblematic animal, making this a true dress-poem.

💙 and 🧡
unpopular opinion ask game
💙: Which character is not as hot as everyone else seems to think?
Imogen CriticalRole. She has this specific vibe that, to me—and I'm so sorry because I VERY much wish this wasn't true for me—feels like the Stanley Cup-toting, Coachella-regular white girl energy that I do not find attractive. When I try to see Imogen as hot, it feels like trying to be attracted to T-Swift. Yes, this still applies to Imogen's original outfit, which always felt less genuine ranch girl / Western and more like Instagram ranchcore.
If you're into that, that's fine and great and god be with you, but it is extremely not for me. She's like FINE, she's conventionally attractive but like in a way that just kinda is unremarkable to me, so I can't say that she's HOT, definitely not as hot as everyone seems to think.
🧡: What is a popular (serious) theory you disagree with?
I have no idea what serious theories are popular these days. I spent a long-ass time thinking about theories I thought are dumb as hell, and basically everything I thought of are, like, exactly one person pitched, thus not popular enough to be worth picking at here.
I'm gonna draw on an old one and say that I remain ehhhhh about the idea that Maya Agrupnin founded the Cobalt Soul because of having received Patia's orb. It just doesn't really gel well with the established lore about the Cobalt Soul: founded just after the Calamity (centuries after the fall of Avalir) and by followers of Ioun. I will continue to disagree even if it's canonized, that's how hard I don't vibe with it.
